Stylish waterfront one and two bedroom accommodations--THESE ARE 2 APARTMENTS SIDE-BY-SIDE (same building).
Our ground floor, side-by-side apartments totaling 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are offered exclusively to guests (no owner's belongings to navigate around). We provide a welcome "starter" of complimentary coffee, tea, creamer, condiments, spices, and more.
These are two ground floor apartments side-by-side. The 2 bedroom + 1 bathroom apartment is approximately 600 square feet of living area near the main building entrance. There is one queen bed in bedroom 1, and two twin beds in bedroom 2. USB plugins for your electronics are provided in both bedrooms and the living area. The apartment accommodates up to 4 guests (no children under 12 please).
The 1 bedroom + 1 bathroom apartment is approximately 450 square feet of living area just off the center courtyard. There is one queen bed in the bedroom and USB plugins for your electronics are provided in both the bedroom and living area. The apartment accommodates up to 2 guests (no children under 12 please).
PLEASE NOTE: there are no water views from inside either apartment, but the tranquil inter-coastal backyard is just through the adjoining breezeway and the beach is directly across the street.
The property is secured by a large, access controlled wooden gate which is near the front doors of the apartments; each apartment has a smart lock with keyless entry. Guests are provided access codes the morning of their scheduled arrival via text and email.
The apartments are equipped with "Smart" TV's that have cable and internet streaming services (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc) -- guests must have their own accounts for internet streaming services. High speed Wi-Fi internet is provided throughout the property (yes--even outside on the grounds!) at no charge.
We provide toiletries, linens, towels, beach accessories (chairs, umbrellas, towels, coolers), paddle boards, fishing poles and tackle, bait buckets, firewood (for the fire pit), gas BBQ grill, complimentary clothes washer/dryer. The large smart key controlled shed holds many of the goodies--you will be provided the code upon check in. Some of the above mentioned items are available on a first come first served basis.
The 2 bedroom apartment has a semi-open kitchen with dishwasher, and is equipped with all the basics a guest needs to dine in. You will find a K-cup and French Press coffee maker, toaster oven, blender, pots and pans, etc. The full size refrigerator has an ice maker.

Both apartments have central air-conditioning (no wall units or mini-splits) which provides guests with consistent climate comfort and very little background noise.
About the property: there are 4 apartments on the property (2/2, 2/1, 1/1, and a Single). The spacious grounds, beach and fishing accessories, and other "toys" are shared by all guests. The property affords multiple seating areas for our guest's comfort. There is also a backyard bathroom available to guests, a hot/cold outdoor shower with a privacy door that you won't want to miss, and a spectacular outdoor kitchen and bar.
The beach is literally across the street! Also directly across the street is the Island Inn Resort which has a great little Tiki Bar on the beach and is open to the public. You can rent bikes, kayaks, paddleboards and more on the beach in front of the Island Inn.
A short walk to the south of us is a liquor store, surf shop (with paddle board rentals), 7-11 store with gas, Caddy's on the Beach, and Sea Hags restaurant. About a 10 minute walk to the north of us is Publix grocery store and many restaurants and bars.
Close to Tyrone Square Shopping Mall, Salvador Dali Museum, Sunken Gardens, St. Petersburg Downtown, Fort De Soto Park. Tampa International Airport is about a 35 minute drive. Busch Gardens and Tampa Bay Aquarium are about a 45 minute drive. Clearwater Beach and Marine Aquarium are about 25 minutes north of us. We are approximately 2 hours from Disney World, Sea World & Universal Studios-Orlando.
One car parking per apartment is available directly in front of our building--please pull straight in towards the building. Additional guest parking is also available next door in the Island Inn parking lot (we own 2 units at the Island Inn); just let the front desk know you are with Tom Riley. Laundry room is located next to the center courtyard and there is no charge to use the machines.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, I moved to Florida over a decade ago. I love to travel and I like clean, comfortable accommodations. I fell in love with the beauty of the Gulf Coast, with its clear warm water and powdery beaches.

Waterfront and directly across the street from a 5 mile stretch of gorgeous beach. Walking distance to restaurants and nightlife. Relax on the dock while enjoying your favorite drink; the excitement of dolphin and manatee sightings never gets old. Sunrise on our dock, and sunsets on the beach!
The best of both worlds--bayside waterfront location, just steps from the beach. We have a private boat dock available to guests and the fishing is outstanding. Grill your catch of the day on the barbeque, or throw it back and head out to one of the many great restaurants nearby. A gorgeous beach and Rick's Tiki Bar are directly across the street (cross walk at our property), and public transportation (the Trolley) is just steps away.

Beautiful and wonderful place to stay. Very convenient and easy to get around. Great security too! Loved the pool and Tiki Bar each day. Owner made great restaurant suggestions when we asked. Can't wait to stay again!
Location was nice though not all that walkable with small kids. Beach across the street was fantastic. The pool, located at the property across the street was small and quite crowded but it kept the kids happy and there is a tiki bar. The storage shed is fully equipped with fishing poles, gear, boogie boards, life jackets, beach chairs and umbrellas, and even a couple of wet suits. The kids loved fishing off the docks. The shared washer and dryer, located in the courtyard were top notch! The owner was accessible and answered all of our questions. He even offered fishing tips, restaurant and jet ski rental recommendations. Overall we had a very nice time, however, I found the description on Home Away a bit misleading. I thought we were getting one house/unit with three bedrooms. When we got there I got an e-mail with two key codes to one 2 bedroom and one one bedroom unit. The units were clean and cutely decorated but the kithchens and bathrooms were tiny, especially in the one bedroom. Only the two bedroom unit had a dishwasher. There was no place for 5 of us to sit down to eat together so we ended up eating out more often than we anticipated. There was a larger unit on property that we did not see. Make sure you know which unit you are getting.
We thoroughly enjoyed are stay at Riley's Retreat. Tom, our host, was very accommodating and helpful. Our two bedroom unit was exceptionally clean and spacious and contained everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Grocery store was just down the street as well as many, various, restaurants. The beach is directly across the street from the unit with miles and miles of white sand. The dock out the back of the property was amazing and we found it so relaxing to sit out and watch the dolphins while we enjoyed our morning coffee. There was nothing there that Tom didn't think of for the guests comfort and he is always making improvements. We beached, golfed, enjoyed NHL hockey games and much more during our 2 week stay. Tom graciously took us on a boat tour of the inter coastal waterway and the gulf around Treasure Island and St. Pete's. We loved our stay so much we will definitely be returning. Thank you Tom!
What a wonderful place! With the Bay in your back yard and the Gulf right across the street, you get the best of both worlds - Sunrise & Sunsets are absolutely stunning! Very clean & private. Very well equipped. Nice gas grill onsite. Washer & dryer at no additional charge. Tons of shops, restaurants and activities within walking distance or a short car ride. We will definitely let all of our friends and family know about this place - absolutely wonderful! Tom (the owner) is a super guy! We found out that he graduated from Notre Dame - GO IRISH!! Funny, we came all the way from Indy to end up meeting someone who lived in Indiana as well. Him and his daughter came over and took us for a boat ride out in the gulf and through the bays. What a wonderful surprise! Great spot & the host with the most - thank you so much for a wonderful vacation!
We spent 10 wonderful days in Riley's Retreat with a family of 4. We found the 2BR/1ba unit to be very clean, well supplied and very comfortable. The on site facilities were exceptional and in excellent condition. We especially enjoyed the back yard/dock for fishing, swimming and relaxing. Our host were very friendly, accessible, and accommodating. They even gave us a tour of the waterways on their private boat. We were very grateful for the quick and easy access to the beach just across the street and the nearby restaurants. We definitely plan to use their property again for future visits.
The beach trolley stops right next to our property. Great access to all of the beaches and towns up and down the coast.

Pricing is for BOTH the 1 and 2 Bedroom Units combined. Lower prices are available for just the renting of one unit. Rates are subject to change until reservation confirmed. No pets, no overnight or additional guests on property, no parties or loud noise, no children under the age of 12. Guest must be 30 years of age or older to sign the Rental Agreement. Very strict NO ADDITIONAL GUESTS and AGE RESTRICTION policy (both in apartments and on the property at any time)--violators will lose their security deposit! We offer a quiet, well maintained vacation property exclusively for our paying guests only.
