This home delivered all our expectations and more. The property is equipped with everything you would need excluding groceries.
My family and I were so comfortable there and the space so inviting that we truly hated to leave. I have stayed at perhaps a dozen rental homes in the past and none has so completely delivered the home away get away experience as this little bungalow ! We look forward to return again soon.
The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was spotless.
I was very happy with the location.
I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
Excellent! Extremely well organized and tastefully furnished home in a very quiet neighborhood just a couple blocks walk from the Beach. Highly recommended. Was hesitant because of a couple bad reviews but i called the property manager and I took a look at the property before confirming my stay, let me tell you I've already booked for 2016!
Please don't be captivated by the great reviews of this house. All but one are from 2012-2013 and does not reflect the current conditions at all!
FIRST: This house IS NOT handicapped accessible. There aren't any ramps nor wide door ways for wheelchair use.
Second: The house was partially updated in 2013 when the pictures for the ad where taken. We just stayed there for a month while on assignment in area and while the location to the beach and downtown is nice, that is the extent of it. The property manager lives 6 hours away in S. FL and is difficult to get ahold of.
The house was filthy dirty... like frat house dirty... when we arrived (we came early and where notified that the cleaners would be there shortly.) However they never showed that day OR EVER the following days so its a good thing my wife and I went to the store and purchased cleaning supplies and did it ourselves. (We also had to wash all the dirty linens that were piled up as soon we arrived so we had clean sheets for that night.)
The kitchen is sparsely supplied with half broken and worn appliances. 3 drinking glasses and 10 coffee mugs are available. As such we went to store and bought our own.
There isn't hot water in one of the bathrooms.
The AC doesn't work well so it runs all day to keep house at 77 degrees.
The 2 main bedrooms are connected by a small 1950's dated bathroom and the "clothes closet" for those rooms are shared within the broom closet/AC handler area.
ALL of the rugs/carpet are deeply stained and need to be replaced.
The back yard is seriously overgrown and the fabulous grill that you see in the pictures... completely rotted out.. I mean completely.. like there isn't a bottom!
Last but not least the TV cable and internet were turned off during our stay and our young property manager took 11 DAYS to get it turned back on.
I have saved all of the emails to and from Rain and have pictures of damaged/broken/dirty items throughout the house to prove it. Rain Peters may mean well and is pleasant to speak with (when you get her to call you back) however she is a horrible property manager.
This property was amazing! When we first arrived after a long drive from Toronto we had no trouble getting into the keyless entry door which was honestly so convenient. When you walk in there is a beautiful whitewash brick fireplace and wood ceilings, it was GORGEOUS, so homey! Reminded me of a nicely laid out beach cottage. There was a beautiful white kitchen with all utensils to use, including a coffee maker, which was great. The back of the house is all windows with an L couch and a little bar area that looks out to an incredible very BLUE pool. There was a table that had been broken from the last owners outside but we were booked immediately after so there was nothing they could do really, they handled it while we were there and got it out of the way which was nice. There such nice people ! me and my family loved it here. Booking for next year ! :)
We arrived to find the home filthy - clothes strewn across the floor, bedding piled up on the floor, medication left on bedside tables, refrigerator full of rotten food, oven/stove with baked on food, dog hair on all the furniture. We were able to contact the owner who assured us the property manager and cleaning agency would be right there. After a long day of traveling with kids, we weren't going to wait around in the filth so we made our way to a hotel for the night. After finding no suitable alternatives at the last minute, we returned to inspect the property after it had been thoroughly cleaned. It was much improved, but still showed a lack of good maintenance. In addition to the poorly maintained lawn with overgrown grass and pile of junk in the corner, we now had half a dozen bags of trash that were removed from the house and sitting on the curb all week attracting animals while waiting garbage pickup. We also made note that there were no towels in the entire house - kitchen or bathroom, a curtain was missing from one of the bedrooms, and the bedding consisted of thin sheets with tears in them and pillows that were unfit for use and didn't even have pillowcases. The landscaping around the pool area was overgrown and hosted excessive amounts of mosquitoes, lizards, and even a snake. Given our lack of last minute options that would accommodate our party, we went shopping and bought necessities to make our stay comfortable. We spoke with the owner who promised to credit us a night because the place was not ready on our arrival and also agreed to reimburse us for the necessities that we purchased and were unable to take with us. The location was great - an easy walk to the beach and having a pool in the backyard was wonderful. However, this place does not look like the pictures and the fact that the last positive reviews were from 2013 should have told us something - they have not maintained this property. After returning home we attempted to get our deposit back and our reimbursement for the night in the hotel and the necessities we purchased for the home. After being told over 2 months ago that the check was "in the mail", we have yet to receive anything and now the owner is no longer answering our calls. I do not recommend staying here.
The house is amazing! We stayed for a whole week and were so sad to have to leave. Beautifully decorated, comfortable furnishings, plenty of room to move around. The backyard was gorgeous! A small "beach" (like a sanded area) with lounge chairs, grill, and fire pit. My son loved playing in the sand. It's about a two block walk to the beach, which was densely populated-at least during our stay. The sand is so soft and it doesn't get extremely hot! The water wasn't really deep, so my 5 year old got to walk out pretty far (with an adult of course). It's a great neighborhood, nice and quiet. A few blocks from the putt-putt course, shops, food, CVS, Dollar Tree, and a Winn-Dixie. Conch is an amazing restaurant and not far from the house.
The owners were great. Anything we needed they were very helpful. Taylor even called my husband to make sure everything was working right and recommend the Conch.
The reason we gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is b/c during our stay we experienced some AC issues, which I'm sure Rain and Taylor have taken care of.
Definitely a wonderful spot for our first family vacation! We've even talked of making this our permanent vacation area! So beautiful and peaceful!
