The *Perfect* Beach House in Folly Beach
There are some things you really want in a beach house: comfortable, open spaces. Beautiful views. Privacy. Proximity to the beach. A well-equipped kitchen. Plenty of parking. A pleasant owner with good communication. This house has all of that and more.
The pictures on the listing set our expectations for a nice home, but once we walked in we were like "WOW." You immediately see the beach view and the large front porch with hammock and lots of comfortable chairs. Then you look out the back windows and see an incredible marsh view, which offers a different sunset every evening and lots of nature throughout the day.
As you walk around the house, open floor plan, high ceilings and tons of natural light make it feel very bright and airy. There are four separate and very private outdoor spaces & decks for those that need to get away for a little while, enjoy the sun, or take a nap.
The outdoor shower and hoses make it easy to wash the sand off, and speaking of sand, there is beach access RIGHT across the street! It's so convenient to walk just a few steps and park yourself in the sand. Forget something back at the house? Just walk back and get it. With a 5 year old and all our beach equipment, it was so nice to have the beach SO close. As an added bonus, this is a very quiet part of the beach and at times we felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves!
We cooked many meals in the kitchen, which was stocked with staple items and lots of pans/dishes. Plenty of counter space, good sized fridge, and ice maker that cranked out lots of ice. Lots of recycle bins and a huge trash can outdoors.
Finding a pet friendly home that is still a really nice place can be quite a challenge, but this home was the perfect resting spot for our 12 year old lab.
If you are thinking about renting this home, I would highly recommend it. Our family spent a fun week there and made lots of memories.
There's not much left to say. The reviewer really enjoyed staying at Coasting at 1566. It's a great place.
Really nice place to stay
The house was really nice and has beautiful views. The beach is just across the street and is pristine. The accommodations inside the house were excellent with everything you would need there. The owner was pleasant and wanted to make sure we had everything while staying there. Would highly recommend.
This is much more than just a rental house. I built it in 1996, and it was my permanent home for years.
I'm sure that anyone that vacations at my house, will like it just as much as all of my other guests.
Great house with dual ocean/marsh views.
Weather not great but still a beautiful setting. Suggest you improve lighting in living room.
I'm glad my guests like my house. As far as the lighting in the living room is concerned, there are 3 lamps, and two canned lights in the ceiling over the fireplace. I have never had a complaint concerning the lighting, in fact, I've never had many complaints at all. Everyone seems to like the house very much.
To my last guest,
I'm sorry that the lighting was not adequate. I will see about putting a few more cans in the ceiling.
A vacation to be remembered
It was a wonderful experience staying at this lovely house. The house is open with views from every room, and every angle. There are two upper sundecks, one facing the ocean, and one facing the marsh. The screened in back porch is a delight, with a dining table, and a sundeck off of it. There is an open front porch that spans the whole front of the house. The walls are adorned with original art work, and photographs.
We all had a marvelous time, and will be returning to this lovely place.
This is a wonderful house. All of my guests love their vacations there. If you've never stayed at "Coasting at 1566", you should give it a try. You won't be sorry.
Beautiful views of the ocean and marsh. Everything t5hat you would want in a beach house. It's more of a home than a rental house.
We thoroughly enjoyed it.
WE'LL BE BACK!!!!!
Everybody loves my house. It's a wonderful place to relax, and enjoy the ocean breeze, the views of the ocean, and marsh................the interior is strewn with original art work, to enjoy during a rainy day. Come and stay sometime.
We'll be glad to have you.
Great Beach house on Folly Beach!
House was as -advertised with a great open floor layout. There are two bedrooms on the first floor, perfect for older adults and children. Both bedrooms have water views, which is very nice.
The house is also pet-friendly, which was perfect for us , as we do not kennel our golden doodle.
The location was great, a 2nd row home directly across from the beach access. Folly Beach has been ranked as one of the top 30 beaches in the US.
The owner supplies linens, towels and kitchen equipment for the tenant's use during your stay.
A nice well furnished front porch to take in all of the ocean views and a nice rear deck to view the marsh.
The master suite is soacious and private with decks on both sides which provide excellent garage points.
It was a nice restful stay and we look forward to staying again at "Coasting at 1566".
All of my guests love my house. I custom built this house for myself in 1996. I lived there for about 15 years, until I started renting it. It is more of a home than a rental house. It has all of my personal art work, and some vintage furniture that has been in my family for years.
I would encourage anyone to come and stay at "Coasting at 1566".
Swimming, boating, sailing, fishing, crabbing, kayaking, parasailing, surfing, windsurfing, parasurfing, bicycling, jet skiing, and all of the other activities that go along with a great vacation at the beach.
Historic Charleston is only 12 miles away, and offers sophisticated shopping, art galleries, museums, exciting night life and fine dining. The Aquarium, Maritime Center, The Market, Patriots Point, Middleton Plantation, Boone Hall Plantation, and the colossal Arthur Ravenel suspension bridge are just a few of the points of interest in this fabulous city.
