Hemlock Creek Cabin
Get your sanity back! This is a spa for the soul. Always a vacation home, first time rented. Everything imaginable is here. A private valley among the majestic hemlocks set the mood of being nestled away. Nearly a quarter mile of cascading creek winds through these 5 acres. This is the place to escape the stresses of life. You’ll go home with a “new lease on life.” This log cabin sits just 20 feet from the water’s edge in the bend of Vandergriff Creek. Fell like a king in the massive log bed of the master suite with a private porch. Crack the door and be lulled to sleep by the babbling waters. By the time the sun peaks over the mountain, you’ve been walking path along the creek drawn by its soothing spell. Coffee in the swing will set your pace for a relaxing day. Lots of old-school fun: darts, horseshoes, bocci-ball and the swing.
Three bedrooms all on one floor make it easy. Lots of space in 2,200 sq. feet. Grill like a master chef on the big green egg. All you need is the steaks. Everything is here. The kitchen is equipped just like home. Connect to the outside world with Wifi, Facetime, Netflix, Direct TV with NFL package on 55” super-HD TV with Rockfish surround sound if you have to. Or escape completely relaxing under the hemlocks – probably why you came. Try a fire under the stars at our outdoor fire pit. The wood is all stacked. Lots to do nearby. World-class trout stream a few miles away with the Cohutta Fly Fishing School. Head out to Tube the Cartecay River in one direction or kayak the Toccoa in the other. The Appalachian and Benton-MacKaye trails are not far. And nobody should come to the mountains without seeing Amicalola Falls 25 minutes away. Adorable Ellijay has lots of good restaurants - also 25 minutes away.

Tranquility. This is the place to come to escape the stresses of this world. The talking creek washes them away. Dozens of vantage points to let it immerse you. We looked for four years then knew instantly that this was where we wanted to spend our days. Never rented before, its always been a family retreat and feels like it. We hope you find what we experience each time we come.
This cabin is a very nice place to stay. Best part for us was sitting on porch enjoying the sounds of the creek. Cabin was very clean and everything was in working order. Owners were very helpful.
The ladies and I agree, this cabin was stunning. First, the ride up to the cabin was fantastic. Long and winding country roads, dotted with autumn, is just what my soul needed. Most of the roads are clearly marked, but it's great to have a co-pilot to navigate. As you pull down the driveway, you will soon realize that pictures don't lie. The yard is very well kept, and the hosts supply plenty of firewood, which we took full advantage of. There are many split piles stacked through-out the yard. The 4 person seating provided around the fire pit were very comfortable, I would love to know where she found them! We really enjoyed the fire pit and the absolute privacy, it was quiet and serene. The horseshoe pit was a sweet find too!
Next, lets go inside. Most importantly, the entire space was spotless and cleaned to my standards. Cathy has decorated this cabin so tastefully. It's rustic without being too rustic, with great art pieces, and nods of antiques. We also found a very well appointed kitchen, we made bolognese and apple pie just like we were at home. She even provides a slow cooker-which is very good to know for next time we come. The wall of windows in the living room makes you feel like you are one with nature. There are plenty of towels, blankets, linens, movies, books, games, and a washing machine, so do yourself a favor and pack light, they have thought of everything!
We visited the area during the apple festival. The little town of Ellijay was full of hustle and bustle, but in a very good way. We spent one of our days in Blue Ridge, and took the scenic train ride, a bit pricey at $52 per person, but I did enjoy myself, and it was a great way to spend the afternoon. Blue Ridge is a darling little town.
Cathy provided me with excellent customer service. She answered all of my emails quickly, and refunded my security deposit the day after we left.
5 stars for Rushing Creek, see you next year!
It was a great location for anyone wanting to get away from the stress of everyday life. Secluded, beautiful, and a great location.
We used this as our 'Base Camp' during my daughter's wedding. What you see/read is what you get - and then some. The cabin is gorgeous, the scenery is beautiful, The ever-babbling creek is 8 feet from the patio door. It was the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of a big wedding. The owners were a pleasure to work with. We're already planning a return trip when we can spend more time 'at home'.
Upon arriving, we were blown away by the beauty of this cabin, inside and out! We were looking for a cabin with a creek, and this one winds around the property and passes right in front of the deck,. The solitude plus the gentle sound of the creek provides the perfect atmosphere for peace and tranquility. There is a stone fire ring with lots of cut firewood and kindling for those who like to spend their evenings fireside. The cabin is beautifully decorated and spacious with plenty of seating for relaxation and lots of windows to enjoy the incredible view. We didn't watch much TV, but the large 3D screen smart TV has surround sound and does all. We enjoyed cooking in the well appointed kitchen and my sister fell in love with the Green Egg. She made the most amazing baby back ribs! There is a front porch, back deck, and screened in porch for those who like to relax outside, along with a swing down by the creek.
We have stayed in many cabins in North Georgia. This one is our very favorite!
Mountain sports in every direction: hiking, kayaking, rafting, tubing and fly fishing all less than 30-minutes away.
