Thoughtfully appointed, sleek, comfy and modern new 1BR home for your travels!

This is a full 1 BR apartment inside a new home targeting LEED Platinum certification - modern, energy efficient, and well-appointed! We've had tourists, folks travelling for work, people who want a base of operations while relocating to Seattle, parents visiting UW with their high school kids, parents visiting their children and families with young children of their own.

Short walking distance to Greenwood -- and Seattle-renowned Neptune Coffee and Chuck's Hop Shop -- we designed this 650 sq ft, 1 BR unit for guests. It's private and sunny, with the sort of comforts we would want in our home. Polished concrete floors, a fabulously comfortable bed, LED lights, radiant wall heat, and high speed guest Internet WiFi access are the basics in this thoughtfully laid out home.

We've hosted a number of families, so children are welcome! The apartment does not have child proof locks on drawers or toilet seats. We don't mind the sound of toddlers or babies, as we have a child, too! You may hear footsteps above you, our living area is carpeted though, and we have a white noise generator in the bedroom for light sleepers.

The living room has a large couch (which can be converted to a queen sleeper - pull out the section below the seat cushion and then rotate it up into place; sheets in the chaise section storage), a simple granite countertop desk and a Herman Miller Aeron chair for any computer-related activities - we even provide a Thinkpad for mail and web browsing, in case you forgot yours! And yes, a USB charger in case you forgot your charger at home.

The bedroom is simple and clean, because the place you sleep should be free of distractions. The queen sized Tempurpedic bed is incredibly comfortable, but you'll also have 2 LED bedside lamps and a 46" LCD television (with terrestrial HD antenna for local broadcast HD channels, HBO, SHO, FX and Amazon Prime access, among others through our Roku box) in case you want to read in bed or catch up on the latest Game of Thrones episode.

The roomy bathroom has two plush bathrobes, a tub and shower (and basic bath essentials) for your morning shower or evening soak. A washer/dryer in the apartment can be used by guests staying more than 2 days. Hairdryer and iron provided, too.

Our kitchen has a full fridge (with a PUR water filter pitcher) stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher, and is stocked with dishes, flatware, glasses, cups and wine glasses. We have pots and pans, a rice maker, blender and a juicer. We have a cooler packs in the freezer in case you want to take lunch on the road, too.

It's Seattle, so coffee mugs, coffee grinder and French Press are provided, along with a starter dose of coffee beans!

We also offer access to a licensed massage therapist (my wife) for our guests in your unit! Just contact us about availability. She's experienced and terrific, just check out the writeup about her in Allure magazine (one of our photos).

Note that this unit sleeps 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. It can accommodate 4 adults, please inquire first, 4 adults will be an extra $25/night charge. The sofabed is opened up by pulling out the section below the cushions and rotating and locking that section into place.

Why Stefanie Smith chose Seattle

We wanted to build a home with a small environmental footprint, that was welcoming and comfortable. We love the NW modern home aesthetic, and designed this home with these things in mind. The home is comfortable for lots of reasons behind the walls - high energy efficiency (LED lights, sub-slab insulation) are things you'll never notice but mean that you are comfortable AND are using the least amount of resources, too. The apartment was designed for us - how we'd want to live, and how we want to treat visiting friends and family.

What makes this apartment unique

It's nearly a complete home - pots, pans, dishes, blender, basic spices, and of course, coffee making supplies. It is Seattle, after all.

We also offer a licensed massage practitioner onsite - me! I have years of experience, built loyal clientele in NYC and Seattle and am offering therapeutic massage to our guests. Book me by texting me!

The entrance to the apartment is in the back of our house - and of course, you have your own separate entrance. You have full use of this 1BR apartment! The washer/dryer is for guests staying longer than 2 days. Guest WiFi internet access is included.

Great location and space

My wife and I rented this for a place to stay over in Seattle while we were out with local friends as they didn't have room. This was a great choice, very well taken care of and quiet. As an Architect I appreciated the attention to detail and the LEED aspects of the property. Met the owner and she was very nice and enjoyed my conversation. All in all I would stay here again!

Excellent stay!

I've stayed at this property several times and will again. It is close to family, but it is also ideal with private entrance and good neighborhood. Owners are right there, but quiet and non-intrusive. Everything is very nice. Clean and comfortable.

Greenwood has a walkscore of 82, and we're a short walk away from bars, restaurants, grocery stores. We're literally up the street from Chuck's Hop Shop, where you can grab a local beer and check out the rotating lineup of food trucks that are there every day of the week.

Greenwood is well located along several major bus lines, giving direct access to downtown, University District, Capitol Hill, Queen Anne, Ballard and other popular destinations. We're a short drive from the I5, WA-99 and the East Side.
