A great little cottage!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I rented this charming cottage in White Springs so I could participate in the 16th annual Suwannee River challenge canoe and kayak race. We brought our two grandsons along and all of us loved the place. It was clean, nicely decorated, with comfortable beds on a small street in tiny White Springs. It was nice to relax on the porch after the race enjoying the breeze and watching the dragonflies. Sunday morning as I loaded up the car the only noise to be heard were some distant roosters crowing. The owner, Tom, greeted us on Friday by bringing over some blueberry quick bread and some poetry books for our two grandsons. We had a great time!

Great little cottage. Perfect for our 'Girls concert weekend' in White Springs.

So much better than being crammed in a chain hotel/motel. Just like being at home when you're away. Would go back in a minute. And the mini pound cake the owners left for us was delish.

Country Doll House

  • 5 of 5

It was a cute little cottage that had a happy and comfortable feel. The town was so cool! It was small, guiet, and off the beaten path. The people were really nice and the nearby antique shops and Stephen Foster State Park were great. Itchetucknee River was close by for some awesome tubing.

Our kind of rental

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was perfect for the two of us for our week in White Springs. Tom and Maddie made us feel welcome and kept us informed of what was going on locally during our stay. We ate quite a few meals at the cottage and found the kitchen to be adequate. We did find it difficult to sit at the counter to eat so that a small table and chairs would have made it more comfortable. Quiet and pleasant neighborhood!

About Thomas Moore

We moved to White Springs (population 752) from Kendall in Miami in 2007. We love the peace and quiet of the Town.

Thomas Moore purchased this cottage in 2002

Why Thomas Moore chose White Springs

The cottage was built in 1905. Has original pine floors. We purchased and had the interior redesigned to accomodate friends and guests.

What makes this cottage unique

Stephen Foster Folk Culture State Park is a block away for a beautiful morning walk.

Guestbook comments from the owner

It was a pleasure having John and Linda as our guests at the cottage in White Springs and introduce them to our community and our friends. Over Christmas dinner, we learned so much about the land We are so pleased they were able to see the "real Florida" and all the areas in Central and North Florida. We wish them well in their journey across America and hope they return soon.
