This charming house is located in one of Lexington's premier neighborhoods, Montclair. Nestled atop a hill on a beautiful tree lined street, this house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a spacious eat-in kitchen, dining room, living room, and office space. Enjoy your morning coffee on the cozy screened-in porch overlooking the spacious backyard. One bedroom is on the main floor located next to a full bath, this bedroom has a queen bed with 2 spacious closets. The second floor includes the other two bedrooms and another full bath. One of the second floor bedrooms has ample space for an air mattress if additional sleeping space is needed. A pack-and-play and various other baby items are available upon request. Washer and dryer are located in the unfinished basement. The driveway will accommodate 3 vehicles.
We are a young family of three born and raised in the Bluegrass state. Sam grew up on a farm in Frankfort and I grew up right in Chevy Chase just blocks from our house. We graduated from high school together here in Lexington and have a strong network of family and friends in the area. We love Lexington and all it has to offer. The thoroughbred industry is more than a business in this household, it's a passion. We bought this house before our daughter was born in 2014. After spending the first year of her life splitting our time between being in town in Lexington and on our farm in Frankfort, we decided that the farm living was what we wanted for our family. Not wanting to entirely give up our charming house in town we realized that short term rentals were a great solution. We have enjoyed sharing our home and introducing Lexington to our guests.

We love Lexington and especially the older neighborhoods surrounding downtown. Lexington is our home and we are excited to share our piece of it with our guests.
The location and the yard had us sold on this house. It's rare to find a yard as large as ours in this area and the two massive Cucumber Magnolia trees just add to the appeal. We love and appreciate that most of the original charm and character of the house is still intact. The location is ideal for anything in town. Great restaurants and bars are minutes away. Just a short drive from downtown and easy access to all surrounding attractions such as Keeneland, The Horse Park, breweries, and bourbon distilleries.
The property was ample size for our 4 adults 5 small children. Owner was very responsive. Kitchen clean, well stocked. Driveway is rather narrow, with high walls around, that's maybe the only downside. The property is not new obviously, so there are minor things here and there that could be fixed up, but we don't sweat the small stuff :)
We didn't end up using the nice back yard as much as we thought we would, since there were plenty of things to do in Lexington. The arboretum at UK is nearly walking distance (we did walk!), but would recommend driving as you have to walk on the road at times otherwise. The horse farm is north of town and is a great place to visit as well (plan for a 2 day visit, as tickets are valid for 2 days).
Finally, the fastest way to get around is to use the circle road (rt 60), because otherwise you get stuck at every light driving cross-town.
We had a wonderful two night stay at the property. It was conveniently located to our destinations of Keeneland and the Bourbon Trail. The house is very clean and the yard is well-kept. We cooked breakfast and dinner and the kitchen was excellently equipped and laid out. A nice addition, however,
would be an insulated carafe to pour the coffee in after it brews in the Mr. Coffee. . We enjoyed our evening meals in the lovely dining room. The living room was comfortable for watching TV after a day of sightseeing and the den was a nice
place to read. The screened in porch and back yard
were beautiful, but it rained when we were there so we didn't put them to use. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were large with good towels. The two upstairs bedrooms share a bath. The upstairs bedrooms have window air conditioners because it gets a little warm upstairs even though there is central heat and air. The window air conditioners kept it cool. A hair dryer would have been nice. The one in the bathroom cabinet didn't work. We plan to stay here again.

Both Sam and Anne were immediately responsive to inquiries. The house was clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. We were in town for a wedding and the house was large enough to accommodate our large family graciously. My parents stayed in the master bedroom downstairs, my husband and I shared the large upstairs bedroom with our two young children - they slept on an extra mattress on the floor - and my brothers slept in the second upstairs bedroom and in the sleeper sofa downstairs. There is a shower in the bathroom upstairs (I couldn't see one in the photo, but there is - thank you!). My children loved playing in the large, fenced backyard - just gorgeous. We utilized the take-out menus left on the fridge for that first disorienting night in a new place after just arriving from the airport. And a package of ground Starbucks coffee was left for our enjoyment, a welcoming touch, and we made use of leftover sugar packets and other condiments during our stay. This house was very comfortable with all the conveniences of home. It is located in a quiet walk-able neighborhood close to everything.
Sam and Anne were very accommodating providing all the necessities for our 10 week old grandson.
I would definitely recommend this property when visiting Lexington, KY.
Four of us attended a conference at the University of Kentucky in February 2016, and this house was really perfect for us. With three bedrooms and a study with a sofabed, we effectively had four bedrooms -- two on the main floor and two upstairs -- so one for each of us. All the beds were very comfortable and everyone reported sleeping well. The neighborhood was also nice and quiet, and the house was an easy and pleasant 15 minute walk to the part of the UK campus where we needed to be. The house itself was lovely -- clean, bright and well-decorated -- and we were happy and comfortable throughout the stay. The kitchen is also stocked with anything we could possibly need, and we cooked multiple meals there. I would suggest that anyone who is not tiny use the upstairs shower, which is far more spacious than the small one downstairs, and the hot water was no joke (REALLY hot), so be careful, but that is about it as far as critiques go. This house is SOOOOOOO much better than a hotel, we all really enjoyed it, and we look forward to returning! Also, the owners were great, and prompt and helpful with any questions.
