Rehab has undergone a major renovation in 2015 and looks great. The views from Rehab are absolutely breathtaking.
One Floor Layout: Underneath the home you will find an outdoor hot/cold shower, 1/2 bath and grill/seating area. One flight up you enter into the living, kitchen, and dining area with vaulted ceilings.
Directly off the main living room area is a queen bedroom with cottage style sliding barn doors. These doors can be opened to a spectacular view of the gulf. Down the hall you will find a shared bath with laundry, queen master with private bath, bedroom with a king/twin bunk bed, and a smaller bonus room with two twin beds. The living area as well as all the bedrooms have TV’s.
The location on the beach is amazing! From inside it's wall to wall gulf view. Beach access couldn't be any easier or quicker!! Teresa has the best rentals.
I love Rehab but the thing that may make me look at other options is the air conditioning issue. The inside temp starts climbing when the sun comes up and rises to 81 degrees all afternoon and doesn't start going down until around 10 pm. We have also covered every window in a desperate attempt to keep it cooler but no luck. LOVE the location and everything else about this place but for the price I shouldn't be hot and I shouldn't have to cover up the amazing view. I would absolutely recommend Rehab but just be aware of the air conditioning issue but that really is the only drawback and ONLY reason I didn't rate excellent. Terri and Teresa are also great and very responsive
Loved the stay. The house has the best view at sunset. Easy access to the beach and I loved the downstairs bathroom that has easy access from the beach. Great downstairs shower just right for folks coming in from the beach. We enjoyed our stay and the house is great. Everything you need for cooking. We took our small dog and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Very pet friendly. The only downside is the week we were there a lot of people were fishing. It would have been nice if they were somewhere else. But they were there for our week. It didn't effect us swimming but it does distract from the view. Seems that is popular on Cape San Blas.
We rented Rehab in June and had a truly wonderful vacation. I normally do not rent condos or duplexes because they always seem much more confining and darker inside than a house does. So I was a little bit worried to rent this duplex. But it is so hard to find smaller places that have updated amenities, beach front, modern, bright and airy without the huge 5 bedroom price tag. I have NO intention of spending my vacation in a dark and musty smelling outdated place that does not "feel good". As soon as I walked in the door my fears went away and I was pleasantly surprised. . Sure this place is a bit older and had some quirks but it "felt good" and the main kitchen and living room was open and airy with a perfect porch to sit and watch the sunsets. The location both to the ocean and on the Cape in general was great. So nice to be able to walk to the trading post after dinner for an ice cream cone and you really couldn't be much closer to the ocean without being on a boat.
Amenities I liked about this place- Views from Main living area- flooring inside was nice and what I want at a beach cottage- Kitchen had enough upgrades to make it both functional and feel good...love the farm house sink- Layout of main living area worked - Kitchen stocked well - Sliding barn doors were cool- underneath was paved with great hot/cold shower.
If I were going to offer some suggestions - Replace the sliders onto the deck. After a couple of days I began to get frustrated with fighting with the darn things just to get in and out. Second would be the air conditioner needs some help. The place was very cool all night and morning and until about 2pm... then there was a noticeable difference. And while it never became unbearable it was uncomfortable until about 10pm. We began closing all the drapes around noon to keep the sun out but who wants to have to close off the view in order to keep the place cool? Third and last would be to update the bedroom furniture and lighting. Not much style going on... (think Grandma's) The beds were actually pretty comfortable but since the bedrooms are not beach front and small... Beautiful beds, gorgeous curtains and upgraded ceiling fans would go a long way in helping people not mind having a small bedroom with no view. Having said all of these critiques...(and I am pretty picky) I would still return to Rehab. Overall I really did enjoy this place and think the owners have made some great improvements that we appreciated.
We stayed at Rehab last September and enjoyed it so much we called to make reservations for this Spring as soon as we got home! We planned for two weeks this trip and it was heavenly. The views from almost everywhere in the house are spectacular but the big Adirondack chairs on the deck are perfect for watching the sunset! The kitchen is furnished with everything you could think of to prepare a meal, which was great because we bought local seafood and cooked "in" almost every night. What we liked best about this house is that everything is on one level once you come up the stairs from the beach. They've even added a beach level bathroom so you don't have to climb the stairs if you're on the beach and need a bathroom break. They've paved under the house since our last visit and that made it so much nicer unloading and loading the car. Also, we didn't drag as much sand into the car that way! We're looking forward to returning for another visit as soon as we can! The girls at Theresa' s rentals are great and quick to respond should you have any problem.
We had a wonderful week at Rehab. The location is fantastic and the views from the windows & deck are just incredible. Watching the pelicans dive for food & the pod of dolphins swim by were highlights (on top of the beautiful beach just steps from the property!). Relaxing and well finished - a great place for a family vacation.
Home was beautifully decorated, as close to the beach as you can be, and so conveniently located near the Trading Post. Rehab was stocked with everything we needed, plus a ton of stuff that we didn't need/use. The ladies at Teresa's Beach Homes were great -- helped us out with Wifi on our first day there.
Having never been to The Cape, we were skeptical about staying there. If you are looking for excitement, don't go. If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful vacation, it is just the place for you! It is now our favorite vacation location, and we will be back!
