We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely, comfortable, historic, conveniently located home in a quiet neighborhood in Two Harbors and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience town living while exploring the stunning North Shore. We easily walked to coffee shops (don't miss Cedar Coffee Company!), restaurants (Blackwood's has outside dining, and Castle Danger Brewery is a key destination) and the town's lake walk and waterfront before taking off for each day's activity--sailing on the Amicus, hiking at Gooseberry and Tettegouche, etc. Everything was clean and neat, and the owners thought of those small touches that make one's stay especially pleasant--lots of thick, luxurious towels in the bathroom that has a deep claw foot tub, hooks in all of the right places for hanging stuff, and a fully stocked kitchen. But best of all was the old style deep front porch with comfortable sliders where you could read and have coffee in privacy, kick back, relax and savor the cool, refreshing lake breezes. We spent most of our mornings soaking in the peaceful atmosphere, quiet, and clean air. Definitely a competitive alternative if you want to spend a week or more taking in all that Two Harbors and the North Shore have to offer. Owners were responsive and helpful, leaving lots of brochures on local events and day trips on the table, and instantly answering any questions we had. Would absolutely rent again.
Stayed here two nights with a small group of friends... Absolutely wonderful crashpad for our Palisade Head climbing trip. Close to restaurants in town, comfy beds for everyone, and the fire pit in the backyard was perfect after a long day of adventure... Lots of charming little touches in the house, VERY clean and welcoming, and the owner was super flexible, communicative and responsive throughout the booking process. Would definitely recommend this VRBO!
Clean, comfortable and homely, Linda's place suited our family down to the ground. It has all the facilities you could need + reading matter, music cds, games and a baby grand piano! The coffee is to be recommended, you could cook just about anything in the well equipped kitchen and its in a very convenient location. If you do meet her Linda is a lovely person who cannot do enough for you and we really enjoyed our stay.
Our group had a nice stay in this cute , clean Two Harbors house! The owner was pleasant and attentive. We would definitely return if we ever venture to Two Harbors again.
The owner was prompt to respond when booking. The home appeared clean; however, if you are allergic to cats, we recommend you do not stay. She stayed they did not have cats there, but a couple of people in our group had allergic reactions to the furniture in the living room, plus we found cat food in the house.bshe listed three separate bathrooms; however, there was really only one - as shown in the picture, which was on the second floor. The other 'bathroom' was in the cold, unfinished basement, right off the back door. The toilet just had a curtain around it. The shower was the same way. the two beds were fairly comfortable. However, it was not legal or safe to sleep in the basement, as the windows did not open and it was very cold with no privacy. The dining room sat my family of 6. The living room only had seating for 4. The south bedroom door did not close. The main bath upstairs had a door knob that was incredibly difficult to use. (My 11 year old was never able to use the door on her own.). When used at night, it would wake us all up because of how loud it was. The parking slip was not big enough for our SUV and there is no street parking for winter.
DT Two Harbors: Castle Danger Brewery; Lake County Historical Society Depot Museum, 3M Museum, Lighthouse gift shop; Shipping docks - see ocean going vessels load iron ore; Sonju walking trail from Burlington Bay to Agate Bay around Lighthouse point; Lakeview National Golf Course.
