Get away from everyone yet within 10 minutes of all the amenities Ogden valley has to offer: This family log cabin is nestled in the middle of over 100 acres on the back side of the Wasatch front, in the shadows of Ben Lomond Peak. There are no neighbors, no disturbances. The accommodations are great and the location can't be beat. Our cabin has a main floor which includes the living room , kitchen and bathroom. Upstairs you will find a loft with 3 queen size beds. The Sofa in the living room also pulls out as a sleeper bed. Bring the whole family or get away with just the two of you. Stay and relax and enjoy the peaceful moments that only nature can provide. Or hit the local hiking or biking trails within minutes. You are also within 10 minutes of Pineview reservoir. There are local vendors you can rent PWC's, boats or head to monte and rent a Razor. For those amenities go to clubrecnorth For more specific details of activities in the area contact me and I will tell you all about it. My residence is only minutes away. The last 1/2 mile of the road leading to the cabin is a dirt road. It is a bit rocky and rough, but any type of vehicle can access it. I have had a prius make it just fine. It is off the grid, so power is supplied with a generator and fridge and hot water are run by propane. If you have question please send me an email and I will get back with you ASAP! Happy Trails, and I look forward to your stay!
P.S. The Cabin is not accessible by vehicle during the winter months. If you are interested in snowmobiling in to it please contact me and we can discuss. Thanks!
I am a life long resident of Liberty Utah. The acreage that this cabin sits on was homesteaded by my great Grandfather starting in the 1890's. I built the cabin myself starting back in 1994 when my parents acquired the property from my fathers brother. It was my fathers lifelong dream to build a cabin where he played as a child. Growing up on a Dairy Farm just a couple miles from the cabin, we didn't have long durations of time to get away. The cabin has served as a great way to get away quickly. I currently reside on the Dairy farm, however, we sold the dairy cows back in 2001. We currently farm Hay, grain, horses, Elk, Reindeer, sheep, beef cows and several dogs. If you are interested in seeing the animals, i would be more than happy to take you on a tour.
Bryan Bailey purchased this cabin in 1994
What is the one thing this property has to offer that no one in this area can match? It is the peaceful setting with no neighbors. You would never know this cabin even existed if it weren't for the small dirt road leading to it. Sitting on one of the few flat spots on the mountain this location allows one to get away from it all without the long traveling to do so. If you are looking for a condo with pavement a small patch of grass and lots of neighbors, then this is not what you are looking for. If you want some alone time away from neighbors yet within several minutes of many local attractions? Then this is the place!
You will not have any neighbors to bother you next door as the cabin sits among hundreds of acres. However, a quick drive down the mountains 1/2 mile road and you are back in civilization. The cabin is off grid, meaning we have our own generator and own source of water. If you are looking for some peace and tranquility, this is it!
Wanted a private get a way in nature and that is exactly what we got nestled in the mountain surrounded by beautiful Fall colors
The vacation cabin was perfect for our family! The location and rustic atmosphere made for a great getaway, that was peaceful and secluded. Bryan was very helpful and provided excellent service. Pineview reservoir and hikes are nearby.
We had a great stay and the cabin was secluded, comfortable and cute. You should know that it's off-the-grid, which we would have liked to know beforehand and didn't. There is power through a generator and propane and running water, but you can't run the generator all night, so if you have a CPAP or need power through the night for something else, you'll need to bring a battery-powered supply source.
Also, although you can get any car up the road to the cabin, I really recommend something with some good ground clearance. It's a lot easier with an AWD or 4WD vehicle.
This cabin has a lot of charm! And it secluded up on the mountain side. It was cozy and quiet. The perfect get away to the mountain!! Make sure to drive an SUV or truck to make it up the gravel road. It's in the perfect spot to go on adventures. Bryan was a lot of help getting to the cabin and explaining everything we needed to know.
The cabin looks very rustic from the outside, but really beautiful inside and is perfect for a group of people to really enjoy themselves. The main reason we choose this cabin was because it's not one of those 5 acre lot communities with neighbors everywhere. It's completely isolated and is really awesome if you just have the desire not to see any people and just relax in the forest. There was no fire pit at the cabin, but we asked the owner and he allowed us to build one and it looks awesome :). The owner Brian was very easy to talk to and if we needed anything, he was just a text or call away because our cell phones still had service (Verizon). My wife and I had a blast with our friends that came up with us and I would definitely be up for renting this in the future again. We brought a slack line with and had fun on that and we laid about in hammocks, it was great. The lake nearby is great for a swim, but we didn't have any luck with fishing. Something else we found that was really cool is the first bar in Utah is in this small town, it was a cool bar. Hope this helps others decide if this cabin is for you, and I almost forgot, you will need on off road SUV or truck to make it to this cabin. I wouldn't attempt the entrance road in a car.
My wife and I stayed in this cabin for 4 nights. We had a great experience here, from making the reservation to our departure. The cabin is perfect for a quiet get a way, remote and peaceful. The stairs to loft/bedroom is more of a ladder then actual steps so it was a task to get our large dogs up and down but we seemed to manage ok. There is a gate at the top, which was helpful. Bryan was very helpful during our stay, and made sure we had everything we needed.
