Private Anclote Island only minutes from downtown Tarpon Springs, this home has it all.
This beautiful tropical private island home has gorgeous views of a protected island, a private beach at low tide, a private pool with jacuzzi, and gulf access. Anchor your boat right behind the house! Relax in this paradise home or enjoy the famous Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks within walking distance. Take out the canoe, fish, swim, enjoy a barbecue, or relax around the pool with a cool drink while basking in the Florida Sun. There is even a family-friendly fire ring for backyard bonfires!
This four bedroom jewel has a master suite downstairs with bay windows facing the water, a flat screen tv,a jacuzzi tub, his and her sinks, and a sliding door leading to the waterfront pool and lanai. A stunning waterview from the second story balcony compliments a bedroom upstairs with queen bed and double closets. Two other bedrooms upstairs round out the sleeping arrangements with a lofted bedroom on one end and a bedroom with twins next door for the fourth bedroom. The three upstairs bedrooms open onto a mini library with internet connection and tv area with movies--a great hang out spot for the kids. If you MUST stay connected while on vacation, there is wireless internet throughout the house. The home boasts three full bathrooms; one upstairs, and two downstairs, including a pool bath.
The formal dining room seats 8 if you want to dine formal, and both the family room and dining room are tiled in marbled ceramic.
The great room is spacious and perfect for entertaining, with cathedral ceilings, a gas fireplace, a wine and buffet area, stocked with glasses and dishware for any occasion. All first floor rooms enjoy a picturesque view of the water. Sliding doors with screens open onto the backyard where you are sure to spend most of your time. Just beyond the pool and backyard firepit, a gentle slope of land leads down to the water where you can catch crabs or fish, while watching shrimp and sponge boats glide by on their way out to sea. If your luck at fishing is bad, pop around the corner and pick up a fresh seafood dinner from one of the many restaurants or fresh seafood markets. And while you're at it, grab some freshly baked Greek pastries for dessert in the largest Greek community outside of Greece, steeped in rich culture.
Your home was a wonderful place to return to, after a hard day of paddling.
Spa & pool were rejuvenating. Such relaxing breezes in the evening. Bonus to have shallow access to the water!
Henry & I enjoyed the beautiful master suite. One of the most relaxing homes that we've rented. Thank you - from Fanny & Henry & friends, Canada.
Spent a week in Tarpon Springs kayaking, biking, boating, swimming, shopping. Beckie and Fran were great to work with. Great house close to everything. Watched the boats go in and out of the harbour. The accommodationstore were great with no issues at all. Great quite neighborhood. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub daily. Saw dolphins and a manatee right off the back yard. Would highly recommend for a family or just adults.
Travelled to Florida to bring together our extended families for a week in the Clearwater / Tarpon Springs area. Our party consisted of 4 adults and 3 teens and we had a very comfortable stay in terms of sleeping. My brother's family of 5 stayed elsewhere, but we were close enough to get together during the day or evenings for everyone to spend time in the house. Even with 6 adults, 3 teens, 2 kids and a baby, there was enough space in the living room/kitchen/patio area for everyone to hang out and not feel cramped together.
I'd never done anything like this before so I went over the reviews again and again. I was hoping for the best but fearing the worst. Fran was awesome to get back to me with answers to any questions and helped settle my mind. The week of the trip, everything went wonderfully. I was able to dismiss any complaints about cleanliness immediately.
We all enjoyed the pool and the area attractions. The house was clean, well furnished, and even better than described. Any small issues we had were quickly attended to. We didn't have the opportunity to use the canoe, but having that as an option is great! We never messed with the hot tub at all (Florida Summer) but the pool was fantastic!
Fran is very up front about house rules and expectations. I suggest reading and abiding by them - in particular, the schedule for trash pickup.
The sponge docks are fun but very aimed at tourists. The Greek pastry is fantastic and if I have one recommendation above any others - eat more pastry! Seriously, you'll miss it when you leave and you'll look back longingly :) Also, Sunset Beach is about a 10-minute drive. It has some of the clearest water I've ever seen and free parking as well (a rarity in Florida I came to learn).
We are hoping to have the opportunity for this to be a yearly thing for us. No regrets at all (other than that pastry thing)!
We brought our children and grandchildren to this lovely home / community over Memorial Day and had a fabulous time. We enjoyed the canoe, spa, pool and direct access to the water. It was a lovely place and quite close to the docks. Would definitely like to return sometime. Becky was just lovely making sure we had what we needed.
*NOTE!!* We took this vacation in early April 2015. I added this review too late to choose the right date above. REVIEW: We decided to escape the cold of Wis and head to Fla for Spring Break. We didn't schedule it with a lot of time left before spring break arrived. Beckie was the first to respond and worked with me right away to set up what times were available. Beckie was amazing to work with and the home and property were just gorgeous!!! We arrived and the property care taker was waiting for us to walk us through the house. Fantastic service! We had everything we could have hoped for in the house. The pool and hot tub were super clean and were so enjoyable to use. Being right on the water was awesome as we got to watch the boats head out to the Gulf, we took the canoe out, and just sat and relaxed on the patio to enjoy the view. The cherry on top of the vacation was the close proximity to the Belle Harbour Marina. We rented a pontoon boat for half a day (mention the Mason's and they price things just right!!) and headed out into the Gulf. That was so much fun to do. We saw dolphins on our way out as they were feeding and we stopped at the Anclote Key Preserve State Park on the island which was a blast. I can't say enough good things about this home, location, and owners!! We will be reserving it for our 2017 Spring Break and I recommend anyone thinking about heading to Fla to do the same. You will not regret it!!
This was our second stay at this home. It is comfortable and clean, and the pool and outdoor dining area made for many relaxing days for our family. Very close to many fun restaurants and the sponge docks of Tarpon Springs. We would highly recommend the home - thank you Becky!
I have stayed in different rental properties in Florida on 8 different occasions some homes some investment properties and believe in giving an honest review so here goes. This is a 3 bedroom villa with a futon bunk on the landing which was not explained. There is a fabric screen door but the window has no glass, shutters or curtains and is above the living area so all the noise and sunlight travels straight in there. None of our children wanted to sleep here so we had to forgo the room with the balcony and slept in the master down stairs. This was not ideal as the children were upstairs and we were down stairs.
The house is in a truly beautiful location but the marina over the way starts work at sunrise so it can get a bit noisy.
The first night my husband and I got bit all over, we found a 3 inche hole in the window screen in the morning! The sheets are polyester so I recommend taking your own as heat and polyester don't mix. The ceiling fans are the quietest I have ever used and you can sleep with them on. The air con is efficient but extreamly noisy upstairs if I had slept up there it would have drove me mad. The timer shuts the air con off from 10pm I think but we sleep and rise early.
The pool was a brilliant size and we really liked the freedom of not having the screen. The pool Hoover wasn't working when we arrived and the net broke from sun damage when we tried to use it. Considering the pool man comes on the day we arrived this seemed a bit strange. Fran was straight on it the next morning (a real credit to the owners, friendly and nothing is to much trouble). The pool level was low which meant leaving the hose to run but I sadly forgot to turn it off when my husband took it out of the pool. The pool man found it and we got told off. We really did not like having to leave the pool Hoover in when the pool was in use and have never been anywhere with this policy before. The children found it creepy and my ten year old got caught in the piping when he was training, it is about 6 meters in length and sometimes coils on its self.
We never used the outside dinning as the neighbors cat sleeps on the chairs and the cushions are left out. We did inform the owners of this on our first morning. Despite them being covered in hair and dirt (I think the cat had taken residence some weeks ago) no attempt by the owners to clean or replace them was made. The table still had ring marks among the cat hair from previous residence which totally put me off as thi
