Scattered throughout the area you will find foundations of original mining cabins from 200 years ago.

Neat little relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5

My wife and our 3 boys enjoyed our stay here. It was so relaxing listening to the river at night. The hot tub was a hit with my wife and our youngest. My boys also dropped a fishing line into the river below the property. Thanks to the river, 95% of the highway noise was blocked out and only the very loudest semi trucks could be heard (but those only seemed to be during the day anyway). We had a little scheduling issue when booking the trip and Bruce communicated very well with us and went above and beyond what was needed to ensure we were happy. It was a very positive experience and we thank you so much. I could see this being an absolutely great ski vacation homebase in the winter.

Cozy and clean cabin!

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough good things about 1st chair chalet! It is the perfect place to get away and relax. We most enjoyed sitting in the hot tub with a cold beer listening to the creek. The cabin is clean and cozy with very comfortable beds. The best I have ever slept on vacation. The cabin is well stocked with supplies and instructions. We were very pleased and impressed with our stay!

Loved this perfect little cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time. The cabin had everything we needed for a great stay. It was spotlesslessly clean upon arrival. The hot tub was a delight at the end of a day. Sleeping to the sound of the river enabled the best night sleep of our vacation!! We would return in a heartbeat. Nearby hikes were perfect as well.

Incredible home!

  • 5 of 5

We spent two wonderful weeks in Colorado and spent time in 3 homes and 4 campgrounds. This home was our favorite by far! My kids loved the hot tub, and the stream below the house. It was in a great location- close to Buena Vista, Salida, and the Mount Princeton hot springs. We will recommend this cabin to anyone we know visiting Colorado!
