Overview

About the property

3 Bedroom,2 Bathroom Artists Home Surrounded by Breathtaking Vista

Surrounded by tidal marsh and intercoastal views on three sides, this home is a paradise for bird-watchers and nature lovers. Relax on the large wrap-around porch with your morning coffee or cocktails in the evening, enjoying the diversity of the Florida intercoastal waterway. When the tide rolls out you can see the wood storks, heron, and spoonbills sifting through the silt for mollusks and crabs. In just a short time the tide flows back in and a new cast of fowl are flying by, hunting the waters for larger prey. Osprey and pelican dive for mullet while the great blue heron stands in the grasses keeping watch.

When the weather turns warm, stay cool inside while still enjoying the beautiful views through large picture windows and numerous french doors. Sunlight permeates this bright two-story home, bringing the outdoors in. Looking east you can see the boats over Camachee Island sailing down the intercoastal river, and to the south you can see the fireworks downtown during the 4th of July and New Year’s celebrations. After dark, there are wonderful opportunities for stargazing over the darkened waters.

Marshview is the ideal home for a family getaway or friends reconnecting. With three bedrooms and two baths, it accommodates six guests very comfortably. A large kitchen, on-site laundry facilities, and cable/wifi ensures you have all of the comforts of home during your stay. Located in a historic neighborhood on a quiet, low traffic street, the home is centrally located and very convenient to St. Augustine’s many attractions. It is less than a two mile drive or bike ride to Vilano Beach and a five minute drive to all the attractions in downtown St. Augustine. If you’re interested in shopping, the outlet malls are seven miles west near I-95.

If you’d like to go on a longer excursion, hop on I-95 and easily head to Disney World - it's less than two hours away. Take a scenic drive north along the ocean on historic A1A to the town of Ponte Vedra, or head south to Marineland to swim with the dolphins. The activities are endless!

Your stay at Marshview even includes the use of all the toys needed to make the most out of our fantastic location! Try kayaking right from our back door to the historic Castillo De San Marcos Fort downtown. This scenic trip follows the wider canals, going under the Vilano Bridge, past the giant cross at the Mission de Nombre de Dios, then along the beautiful homes on Water Street. Remember to watch the tides, we kayak on high tides only. Take the bikes and have a wonderful ride to Vilano Beach (the bridge is a workout!) or downtown via Magnolia Street and past the Fountain of Youth located on one of St. Augustine’s most beautiful oak lined streets. Your host has called St. Augustine her home for over 30 years and will be happy to provide recommendations for many other fun excursions!

About Beth Beyer

Growing up in Chicago made me realize I was not suited for that cold climate. 40 years ago I drove down to Florida and bought property very close to where I live now. I love it here and think I live in one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

Beth Beyer purchased this house in 2000

Why Beth Beyer chose Saint Augustine

I was lucky to get this spot , I drew up plans for this home and built it. Creating

a mix of old and new after owning 2 antique shops this home was built to feel old.

What makes this house unique

The location is amazing, I've been told it's the best in St. Augustine.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We wanted this house for a quiet romantic weekend alone (J&B) and instead it became a weekend blessed with family. It was great to have such wonderful accommodations in a house in a perfect location. Upon arrival there was a nice breeze and the next morning we sat on the porch with our cups of coffee and talked. Thank You for entrusting your home to us and many others. We hope to make this a family tradition.

Unbelievably beautiful.

  • 5 of 5

This property is stunning. The kitchen has everything you need to cook at home. We were there over 4th of July weekend and fell in love with the location. It's close enough to downtown that running to the store isn't a hassle, but far enough away where there is not any noise besides the birds and the geckos.

Beth is very accommodating - a laid back funky artist whose paintings decorate the home - and made sure we had everything we needed.

We loved it here and when we go back, will book this property again.

This is the perfect spot for you and your family.

TRULY SPECIAL!!!

  • 5 of 5

We traveled from Boston and Southern Florida to meet and enjoy a long weekend in beautiful St. Augustine, FL. We can not say enough about how terrific our time was and most of that was based on our decision to stay at Beth's wonderful home. I am VERY picky about my accommodations when traveling and chose Beth's home for all of the obvious reasons, paying particular attention to the glowing reviews from prior tenants.

The house, the lot, the location are all truly amazing. In all seriousness the place is so cool and so tastefully decorated, very spacious and very comfortable inside and out. The proximity to everything in the area simply can't be beat. Within 5 minutes your are in historic downtown at the best restaurants, tourist spots, beaches, bars etc. etc. If you like your down time and enjoy spectacular views of nature, birds, fish, horses and more then you have to check this place out.

And just in case you were wondering I am not Beth's brother.. I just can't say enough about our stay at Beth's home and if you can believe it she is even nicer than her lovely home. Very gracious and accommodating to our questions and needs which weren't many. We traveled as a couple but would not hesitate to bring our kids, friends and relatives on our next visit to the area.

Great Views of Nature

  • 5 of 5

Beth, the owner, was very responsive. Her house is that of an artist, very eclectic and very comfortable. My 9 YO daughter wanted to live there. The location is excellent for those who appreciate nature. There were all kinds of tropical birds flying over the marsh each day and my kids enjoyed kayaking and exploring the area at high and low tide. The house is only 10 or 15 minutes from historic St. Augustine.

Charming and so relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for Thanksgiving week and had the most relaxing time! The weather was perfect and we practically lived on the wraparound porch, enjoying the beautiful view. The house was so charming and comfortable. You felt like you were miles away from everything, yet, you are only minutes from Old St. Augustine and the beach. The whole family loved our stay here and we would definitely love to come back!

no disappointments here

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I (retired) spent the month of February at Beth's St. Augustine home, and it proved to be an ideal choice. I just read the review posted by Nancy W., a previous guest, and I've got to say, she nailed it. We are in complete agreement.
