My name is Julio and my wife is Reva.. We have lived in Whittier all of our lives.. We love our community and are very involved with Real Estate Marketing and Sales.
JULIO MORENO purchased this bungalow in 2006
This property is situated across the street from Broadway park and tennis courts and a couple of blocks away from hiking trails. Walking distance to historic uptown Whittier and plenty of shopping.
Our stay was nothing like the description on the website. First day walked in and it was hotter than blazes. The house had two tiny wall air conditioners that didn't work due to filthy air filters we had to clean, and are non complaint to electrical code. We had to go purchase 2 fans just to circulate the air. The kitchen was 30 degrees hotter than the house so you could not cook in it. That night our feet were black due to dusty dirty wooden floors. The tub didn't drain the water so I looked in the drain and pulled out tons on long hair that had been there for months. The next morning while watching TV it lost the cable with a notification posted "Lost connection due to possible non-payment", please call. That same morning I went to dry my hair and the GFCI receptable was broken so we couldn't use the one and only plug in the bathroom. The exhaust fan in the bathroom has so much dust and dirt on it, never has been cleaned. The lighting in the house is extremely poor. The bedsheets have two holes in them with some stains on the pillowcases. We contacted Julio about the TV not working and the broken receptable in the bathroom on our second day. Julio said he would look into it. Nothing was fixed. We never had TV, in fact he said it wouldn't work until the following week. I would NOT recommend this place.
The bungalow was cute, comfortable and the perfect location for us to visit family and attend my wife's cousins wedding. The snack basket they provided was very nice. Immediately upon arrival and dropping off our luggage we grabbed the bananas to eat as we rushed back out the door to begin the pre-wedding festivities.
While the décor is cute I do wish there was less on the nightstand table and in the bathroom so we would have a little more room to place our things.
There was also a small hiccup regarding a double booking but the owners were very courteous and made everything right. They were also very good about making sure there wasn't any down or feather bedding/décor, as my wife is very allergic (side note almost everywhere else we have ever stayed accidently left one item in the room). It was so refreshing to stay somewhere where that mistake didn't happen and my wife didn't become sick.
My husband and I stayed in the bungalow while in Whittier for a wedding. The apartment is cozy and well appointed. I would recommend this listing, however I will admit to being disappointed that we weren't provided the famous Moreno Coffee and welcome basket advertised in the listing. That being said, that would have been icing on the cake. The apartment is nicely located near Greenleaf Ave, Whittier's "Main Street", clean and comfortable.
On a trip to the LA area to visit children, my brother and I found our five day stay at Coffee Bungalow to be perfect for our needs. We were able to gather as a family in the living room, accompanied by food we were able to prepare in the well equipped kitchen, and enjoy our precious time together. The owners roast their own coffee which they provide in one of two welcome baskets we enjoyed.
The bungalow is decorated beautifully in shabby chic with lots of warm touches.
Reva and Julio are simply lovely people, and we were so happy to meet them. We intend to go back and stay with them every time we go visit our children!
The place was great it was what I needed for me and my dog. The only problem was me not finding the key box but that was because I didn't notice it. Thank u so much
