Want to Escape Reality? This is the Place!

I have 4 boys ranging in ages from 7-14 years of age. We have stayed at the Woodland Retreat 3 times now, and I plan to keep coming back because it is so relaxing and fun for my kids. My kids have made so many wonderful memories here. I'm from California and drive 12 plus hours to get there. It's worth the drive! Here are the reasons why we keep coming back: The views from the property are picturesque, there are mountains and valley's all around you. There is a small creek that runs down below the cabin hidden in the trees and my kids go down there and explore for hours. I never worry about them because I know my boys are in little boy heaven. There is a barn on the property that has a large pasture with a couple horses. The owners allowed us to walk down the gravel lane and go visit the horses. They gave us carrots and grass to feed to the horses. My boys were delighted! The cabin itself was very clean and spacious. We were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked! We had everything we needed. Last, the owners were very kind and helpful if we needed any information about what to do in the area. They didn't bother us, but they were available if we needed them. We did not have any problems with receiving our security deposit back after our trip because we followed the checkout procedures and had no problems with that. I highly recommend staying here! You won't regret it!

Our favorite mountain retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We had another wonderful stay at Woodland Way Retreat. This was our second visit and our kids had been asking to come back. We really enjoyed the house and the surrounding property with the trails to explore, archery targets, wildlife, and the resident dog Cubby. The house has plenty of room for our family to spread out indoors as well. Its beautifully decorated as a mountain lodge/hunting retreat. The owners are also very accessible and friendly, Jerry loves to chat about bowhunting and will help with any needs. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the Woodland Way Retreat this past weekend. The pictures drew us in and our two little boys were beyond excited to come stay at a cabin. And this one did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived my boys were enthralled. They couldn't wait to explore the cabin itself as well as the grounds surrounding. It is just perfectly situated. Jerry and Judy were excellent hosts and the cabin was immaculate. They've done a great job. We couldn't have asked for anything more. My only regret is that we didn't have more time to stay here. The Pepperidge Farm and Fat Boy (ice cream sandwiches) factories are both right down the road so you should definitely check those out. Yum! We had a great time so if you are looking for a place to stay, I would highly recommend it!

The Best Kept Secret

  • 5 of 5

We found the Woodland Way Retreat to be the best kept secret in Richmond. Our family was heading to raft on the Oneida River which was such a short distance from this wonderful location. We enjoyed the secluded spot, comfortable living with all the amenities we needed, trails close by for meandering and so close to the Cherry Peak Ski Resort which provided a great summertime hike. Judy and Jerry were fabulous hosts and ensured that we had a terrific stay....THANKS to the both of YOU!!!

Great accommodations - wonderful setting

  • 5 of 5

The Woodlands' guest house is spacious, clean and very comfortable. All amenities are present, the bed is very comfortable, and the setting is superb. The delightful Cherry Creek runs strongly (at this time of year) right through the property on its' way to the Cache Valley. This is a very pleasant attraction that you can enjoy without leaving the property.

The house is situated on the western flank of the Mount Naomi Wilderness (part of the Wasatch/Cache National forest) with a splendid panorama of the Cache Valley and surrounding mountains.

We came here on a second visit to the Logan area to sightsee and hike in the spectacular Logan Canyon area whose entrance is less than 20 miles away. However, trailheads to scenic woodland hiking along both High Creek and Cherry Creek are located within 2 miles of the residence - very convenient!

We enjoyed our stay immensely and look forward to coming in the future. Our hosts really made the stay pleasant.
