Want to Escape Reality? This is the Place!

  • 5 of 5

I have 4 boys ranging in ages from 7-14 years of age. We have stayed at the Woodland Retreat 3 times now, and I plan to keep coming back because it is so relaxing and fun for my kids. My kids have made so many wonderful memories here. I'm from California and drive 12 plus hours to get there. It's worth the drive! Here are the reasons why we keep coming back: The views from the property are picturesque, there are mountains and valley's all around you. There is a small creek that runs down below the cabin hidden in the trees and my kids go down there and explore for hours. I never worry about them because I know my boys are in little boy heaven. There is a barn on the property that has a large pasture with a couple horses. The owners allowed us to walk down the gravel lane and go visit the horses. They gave us carrots and grass to feed to the horses. My boys were delighted! The cabin itself was very clean and spacious. We were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked! We had everything we needed. Last, the owners were very kind and helpful if we needed any information about what to do in the area. They didn't bother us, but they were available if we needed them. We did not have any problems with receiving our security deposit back after our trip because we followed the checkout procedures and had no problems with that. I highly recommend staying here! You won't regret it!

A feeling of being in the woods, but still close to stores and civilization!

  • 5 of 5

What a fabulous time we had here! The home/cabin was beautiful and the property was SO lovely! We had a small group of young women here, sleeping in tents on the grass, and enjoyed the space around the cabin as well as the stretch of woods that gave us the camping experience!

Beautiful view!

  • 5 of 5

Almost perfect! Beautiful views, comfortable beds and a place for everyone. The only thing that could have made it better would have been real air conditioning instead of a swamp cooler on those super hot summer days. But the house had everything we needed and Jerry and Judy were great to work with and very friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Our favorite mountain retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We had another wonderful stay at Woodland Way Retreat. This was our second visit and our kids had been asking to come back. We really enjoyed the house and the surrounding property with the trails to explore, archery targets, wildlife, and the resident dog Cubby. The house has plenty of room for our family to spread out indoors as well. Its beautifully decorated as a mountain lodge/hunting retreat. The owners are also very accessible and friendly, Jerry loves to chat about bowhunting and will help with any needs. Highly recommended!

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Woodland Way Retreat this past weekend. The pictures drew us in and our two little boys were beyond excited to come stay at a cabin. And this one did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived my boys were enthralled. They couldn't wait to explore the cabin itself as well as the grounds surrounding. It is just perfectly situated. Jerry and Judy were excellent hosts and the cabin was immaculate. They've done a great job. We couldn't have asked for anything more. My only regret is that we didn't have more time to stay here. The Pepperidge Farm and Fat Boy (ice cream sandwiches) factories are both right down the road so you should definitely check those out. Yum! We had a great time so if you are looking for a place to stay, I would highly recommend it!
