Disappointed!

  • 1 of 5

Rented this cottage for my husband's birthday as a surprise. Not the gift I thought I'd be giving him.

Very disappointed!

Blinds broke, cobwebs in the kitchen. Windows need to be cleaned.

Stove and refrigerator need a good cleaning....food drippings in both. The dirty stove was mentioned in a review back in March, '17. I figured the owner would read it and clean it out. I thought wrong! It grossed me out. I can handle quite a bit being from the county but this felt dingy.

Dust bunnies and someone else's hair on the bathroom floor.

The 3 lamp light fixture has 1 white bulb, 1 yellow & 1 non working. All of which held quite the collection of dead bugs.

Mirror has someone else's toothpaste splattered on it.

Not sure if it was mold or dirt on the shower curtain.

Found dog shampoo in the shower along with several partially used shower products.

This was not my idea of a romantic weekend.

It does sleep eight because there are beds/futons/daybeds everywhere.

Driveway is on a slope and I had to put my truck into 4wd to pull out. Not super easy for accessibility. Vehicle doors would either whip open or slam shut on us because of the pitch.

Again my main issue was with the inside of the house. I can handle that things are not updated and new but I think it's unacceptable that it wasn't clean.

My suggestion to the home owner is hire someone to professionally clean it before renting it out.

It rained most of the time during our stay so we did not try any lake activities.

TV reception was horrible. Tried to find a hotel that wasn't booked up...with no success obviously otherwise I would have left.

Should have stayed home. Not at all worth what I paid for it!

Great family weekend

We had a great time at the lake house. The kids loved the video games and the paddle boat. We spent one day at the ark encounter, what an amazing biblical experience. Thanks for sharing your house. Carie

We had a wonderful time!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful location, calm and quiet on the lake. It was nicely appointed, clean and cozy. It felt just like Grandma's home. We visited the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum and we all had a great time with the family. It was so much nicer than staying in a motel! Thank you for renting your place out to families like us.

Great getaway for total relaxation with beautiful views!

  • 5 of 5

The owners provided exceptional service that certainly went beyond our expectations! Friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. The cottage offers everything that you need to unwind, nothing fancy just right and provides lots of fun on a lake using the kayaks and the paddle boat! Highly recommend this charming home.

Really Nice :)

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a place to stay ... close to the "ARK" .... This place was perfect. About a 15 minute drive.

We loved spending time down at the water and relaxing.

There were 7 of us ... ages 11 - 80 ... Perfect for ALL .....

This cottage was well supplied with EVERYTHING you could possibly need or want.

Our FAVORITE part was a visit from "Scarlet" the very friendly neighbor hood dog.

If you are looking for a comfortable, home-like, place this is perfect.

Thank you Craig and Lisa for ALL the help when booking this property. You are amazing ... Thank you again .. A happy family from NY.

Pictures & descriptions are accurate.

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. The property is close to Walmart & fast food restaurants . Pictures are accurate for property. The dining room area stayed cold, definitely not ideal for senior citizens which would have been nice to know, also the oven was pretty dirty. We made it work, my daughter loved it!!! My mother in law struggled up the steps leading into the cabin.
