What makes this House unique
This is a very spacious home. The kitchen is well designed, beautiful and has a lot of room for food preparation. There a views to the south out the large windows in the family room. The master bedroom is large and has a private deck. The master bathroom is a showcase with a marble shower and floor. The custom vanity has a granite countertop.

Great location in the Black Hills
While the house and isolated location were great, there are many missing amenities and creature comforts that should be included in house: toilet paper holders, towel holders and a tub that is included, but not operable. The dishwasher was also filled with dirty dishes and there were no garbage bags. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the owner was easily accessible with our concerns and questions. We would definitely revisit the property.
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you do come back again.
I just wanted to clarify some of the comments to help future guests. There are toilet paper holders in all bathrooms. There are towel holders in 2 of the bathrooms but not in the master bathroom. Because of the layout of the master shower there isn't a good spot to put towel holders. A two sink vanity is directly in front of the shower which is the closest place to put towels. In the master bathroom is a very large marble shower and a tub. The "antique" tub isn't hooked up because the plumbing is expensive yet fragile.
After the stay, we found that the dish washer breaker had tripped which I assume was in the middle of the wash cycle. I apologize for this as nobody wants to find dirty dishes. The appliances are two years old so there shouldn't be any issues.
The cleaning people leave what they call a "starter kit". That contains toilet paper, dish/hand soap and garbage bags in some of the garbage cans. People leave many things such as food, condiments, spices, garbage bags, etc so there may be some of these items at the house but cant be counted on to be there. If you have any questions on what is or isn't provided, let me know. I try to keep the rental agreement up to date and clear which will answer most questions.
PERFECT! WONDERFUL! OUTSTSANDING!
Every year we take a sisters/girls trip. This year we chose South Dakota. We needed a house that could accommodate a maximum of 10 , with 2 people sharing a room.
When we walked into the house it was PERFECT. Each bedroom was large and easily accommodated 2 people. The house was SPOTLESS. I don't think I have ever rented from VRBO, that a house was this clean. You knew immediately that you could take off shoes and feel right at home. No gritty floors or counter tops. Again PERFECT. The views were amazing. Deer, rabbits horses were some of the animals we saw just by looking out the window or sitting on the deck. We heard coyote and owls. The stars and the moon lit up the night sky. Total privacy with no worry of city lights glowing in the distance. PERFECT location to all sights that the Black Hills has to offer. Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Badlands, Spearfish Canyon, Deadwood, Wall Drugs, Mustang Sanctuary and Mammoth Site in Hot Springs. Museums in Keystone and Rapid City. Everything was so close that you never thought you were sitting in the car for hours on end to reach your destination or return trip. 70s - 80s during the day, 40's - 50s at night. Again PERFECT. Todd Lambert the Owner and Manager of the house was always available for any questions, or minor issues that we had. His response was immediate and for that we were extremely grateful.
If you are looking for a WONDERFUL house, with an OUTSTANDING location, look no further and rent Elk's Crossing you will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
Had a great experience here! Nice and private with plenty of room.
Had a nice family trip! House had great space for my entire family (6 adults and 3 kids). Close proximity to many sightseeing locations and activities. The few little issues we had were answered and remedies immediately! If you are looking for privacy, this is the place!
