Property type house

About the property

Clean affordable home base for hiking and biking in a recreational heaven

Remodel is now complete on the inside. We think it turned out really well. We replaced all of the doors, cabinets, flooring, bathroom fixtures, painted etc. Our first guest arrived July 1, 2015.

Next we will be working on the outside/yard area.

There are two bedrooms, one is larger than the other. One has a king bed and one has a queen size bed. We provide all linens and towels.

We call this a "make your own bed and breakfast" place. We do have complimentary pancake mix and syrup to get your day started right.

There is a large space for RV parking besides having a parking area in front as well as on the street.

We are in the process of putting in an outdoor eating area with a shade canopy. We also have a barbecue to grill up a wonderful steak or some chicken.

There is a washer and dryer there for your use along with internet service.

We have a DVD player if you want to watch a movie you bring or check one out at a nearby Red Box location. We also have ROKU so be sure to bring your Netflix password. NOTE: There are no antenna channels available.

The area is nice, lots of trees and hollyhocks. Our property address is 21 E. 70 N. La Verkin, UT 84745 if you want to look at the street view. The pictures you see will not be what you see when you come since they were taken long ago and we have painted etc. The home that is to the West of us is not that pretty, but I don't think you are coming to Southern Utah to compare houses, you are coming to have a wonderful time for yourself going biking or hiking or just getting away. We are very proud of our reviews and don't want anyone to say ' Hey I had a great time and it was just as described, but there was an ugly house next door.

We would love to have you book with us and become another one of our satisfied customers.

About Monica Murset

Hi! I am Carolyn Murset. My husband and I moved to southern Utah 30 + years ago. because of the magnificent scenery and the equally magnificent people. We had two children when we moved here and now have five. We have 13 grand children who all love this part of the world. It is no wonder so many people visit here, and then end up staying. My husband loves to take pictures and has hung a few at our properties for you to enjoy. He is partial to black and white photography. Our youngest daughter also seems to have caught the bug and you will also see some of her photos as well. I love to sing, act, play the guitar and have hundreds of other interests. It was my idea to start down this road with a vacation rental and we believe it has been a great thing for us and for our fellow travelers. We like to travel, but don't seem to do it as often as we would like to. In fact, we just got our passports!

Monica Murset purchased this house in 2007

What makes this house unique

If you are coming to Southern Utah to take in the scenery, having a home base is invaluable. You can make a pack lunch and come home to crockpot meal or barbque and save a bundle. This is on a very quiet street away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. (We consider St. George to be the big City), but still close enough to a Walmart and Costco if you like.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My son, daughter-in-law, husband, and I stayed two nights at this fantastic rental while visiting Zion National Park. The owners have gone to great lengths to anticipate guests' every need and wish. During our stay, it was hot outside but cool and pleasant inside. Hot water for showers and dishes was in abundant supply (but you needn't do dishes; the dishwasher will take care of that task if you want). When we decided we were too tired to go out for a restaurant meal, we picked up frozen pizza at Davis Market (only a few blocks away) and baked it on the stone provided in the rental. Beds were comfy, and the television set up worked well for us. I did wonder if we had it turned up too loud and hope that we didn't bother any of the neighbors with the movie we watched the night we arrived.

We were even able to do a couple of laundry loads, a great feature for those who have been traveling. We prefer not to use a dryer, so we were glad to find plenty of closet space and hangers in the two bedrooms to air dry our clothes after washing them. (If you use a dryer, you'll be pleased to know that one is provided.)

Initially, we didn't see the flyswatter but soon found it along with two lighters for the grill which is located in the back yard. A nice patio set is in place there as well.

All communication between us and the owner went smoothly. I would return in an instant if I could. We felt pampered and blessed.

Great experience!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this property during our trip to Zion NP. The house was very clean and it seemed like everything was thought out. One of the best parts was that they had water waiting for us in the fridge, which was awesome since we got in late and set out very early the next morning to hike. It took about 40 min to get to Zion from the house, but the area was convenient with a grocery store and pretty quiet!

Fully equipped, quiet holiday home, half an hour drive from Zion

  • 4 of 5

Nice house, nice price. Great master bedroom, quite small second bed. Absolutely fully equipped, which was wonderful.

The inside looks much better than the outside.

We hope the owners can keep up the standard (could use a thorough cleaning), although the beds, bathroom and kitchen were sufficiently clean.

Remark: we wondered why several people entered the property while we were literally in the house. Why not in-between 2 lets?

Nice spacious two bedroom apartment with full kitchen and laudry

  • 4 of 5

30 min drive to Zion, so spacious, our family of four could spread out. Did our laundry here. Cooked a dinner here. Even made some waffle. Beds were comfortable, room was clean, and price was quite reasonable. The only thing, AC was set at 80, I wish it was 78. But not a big deal though.

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking time to write a review, we always appreciate our guests who make that extra effort. After we do housekeeping it is our procedure to set the thermostat to 80 degrees in the summer to save on electrical bills when our places are unoccupied. We then expect the guest will reset it to a comfortable temperature for the duration of their stay. I am sorry that this was not written out or clear to you. We apologize for you not being comfortable. We hope you can come and stay with us again in the future and you feel free to use the air conditioning.

Great house, quiet neighborhood and everything included!

  • 5 of 5

My family, (2 adults, 2 sons) stayed here for 2 nights. House is nicely decorated and very comfortable. The house had many amenities and plenty of cookware, spices and grill. It was nice to grill and eat in both nights. Also the washer/dryer was a great bonus! Grocery store nearby and close to Zion National Park. Would stay here again!

Great Value near Zion NP

  • 5 of 5

The home is a great value. We stayed here while we explored Zion National Park and it is only a short 30 minute drive from the entrance to the park with great views along the way. Neighborhood was safe and the house was well maintained. They gave us all the information we needed and were available if we needed them. Definitely recommend this place.
