Lido Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches, not only in Florida, but in the United States. In 2009, the beach was completely re-nourished with its renowned soft, silky white sand. The world famous sunsets off the shores of Lido Beach draw not only our visitors but local residents as well. All there to soak in one of natures most spectacular performances. The view is so surreal that it is not uncommon to see people clap their hands in the joy they receive from this experience.
All of this is just a short stroll from the cottage.
It's a very convenient location. It's quiet and has a private deck with very nice landscaping. That and the patio extend the living space . It's perfect for one or two. The manager was available at a short notice and very accommodating.
The cottage lives up to that wonderfully inviting picture of the gated entry. It was perfect for the 2 of us....beautifully decorated, convenient, comfortable and just a short walk to the beach and those beautiful sunsets. Having another refrigerator and a state of the art washer and dryer were welcome amenities. We loved that the Lido location was so close to many other destinations. We walked to St. Armand's Circle everyday.....hard to resist all the shopping and dining opportunities. We explored nearby Siesta Key, Longboat Key and Anna Maria Island. The beaches are amazing. Sarasota is a wonderful city with a thriving art and theater district. There is another, larger cottage on the property which would accommodate more family (grandkids and parents) very well. It even has a small swimming pool nestled within beautiful landscaping. This was our first trip to Florida and staying at our Sparkling Fresh Cottage was a perfect introduction. We're already thinking about next year.
My son and I are visiting from California, and found this place online. It is the perfect place for us! The cottage is beautifully decorated, clean and model perfect. It is conveniently located within walking distance to Saint Armand's Circle and the beach. My son is an avid fisherman, and so every day we took a short drive down to Longboat to go fishing. There is also a bridge near the house where my son likes to fish off. We feel very safe in this small community. The other houses in this area are spectacular as well! I highly reclmmend this cottage!
We spent 4 nights here in March and really enjoyed our stay! The location was great! It was a block from the beach and a short walk to Saint Armands Circle! The beach is lovely and Lido Key public beach has a heated pool and great concession stand with alcohol and good food! The lobster rolls were OUTSTANDING! The unit also supplied beach chairs and beach towels which were welcome! Kayak rental was just a short walk from the property and a terrific way to spend the day! George and Vicky were helpful and very responsive our questions!
The reviews of this vacation rental are spot on. My wife and I found the cottage to be very comfortable, clean, and in a great location. The property manager (Vicki) was very pleasant and helpful. This was our first visit to Lido but it certainly won't be our last. In fact, when we returned home to RI, the first thing we did was to go online to VRBO to book a two week stay in this cottage for next March!
The property is very nice, clean and private. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Probably the best thing about it, though, is the location. Walk in any direction and see something amazing. Will definitely be back.
Beautiful St. Armands Circle, with its collection of restaurants & pubs, daiquiri decks, ice cream parlors, boutiques and specialty shops is a short 5 minute walk from the villa.
The Lido Pavilion, located on the beach is 50 yards from the front door. Grant Drive is one of the quietest streets on Lido Key allowing you to bask in the simple pleasures of island life. At both ends of Lido Key there are Parks that you can bike or walk through, enjoying special 'look-outs' to the beautiful Mangroves surrounding that portion of Lido Key. Kayak rentals are available to get up close and personal with the natural shore lines surrounding Sarasota bay.
Mote Marine, a beautiful Aquarium where you can explore the many beautiful sea animals that live in the Gulf of Mexico is located just off the north end of the key.
Over the Ringling Bridge to mainland Sarasota you can take advantage of many wonderful experiences and a rich cultural community. From the Ringling Museum, to the ballet, opera or concerts at the Van Wezel, to gorgeous downtown Sarasota with its picturesque bay-front. With street names like Lemon, Orange, Pineapple, and Coconut it is a very tropical setting. Downtown Sarasota also boasts a beautiful movie theatre, library, plenty of shopping, and wonderful restaurants.
