Overview

About the property

This is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom house located in central Eureka.. The living room has great natural light and looks out to the front of the building. In the living room you will find comfortable club chairs and a couch for viewing TV. One bedroom has a king sized bed, the second bedroom has a queen sized bed. The bathroom has a tub shower. The rental has a full kitchen including a full size range, microwave and refrigerator. The house has a washer/dryer for laundry needs and a garage for off street parking. Included in the unit are WiFi and cable television.

We have owned this building for 10 years and remodeled all of it. Eureka is a city of almost 30,000 located on the north pacific coast of California. We have an active arts community with a monthly Arts Alive Night on the first Saturday of each month in Old Town, there are also many local art galleries for viewing or purchasing art. Humboldt State University has its own gallery in Old Town on First Street with student and faculty exhibits and out of the area artist shows. There is a wide variety of restaurants to be found in Eureka and we would be happy to give you some ideas of how to choose your meals out. In Henderson Center there is a great local bakery for morning pastries and coffee drinks. Humboldt County has a bounty of outdoor activities to be enjoyed at our local beaches and forest areas.

Eureka is a 4 hour and 45 minute drive north of San Francisco and 120 miles west of Redding. Whether you want to escape the urban population of the Bay Area or the heat of Redding, Eureka is a great choice.

Great house and location

  • 4 of 5

Great Craftsman style home. Comfy beds & living room, the kitchen has most everything you'll need (a bit more cookware & maybe a cookie sheet?) We enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants (try the Nooner Too) and stores, sidewalks everywhere. Also liked being able to use the garage for storage & parking and a great fenced yard for our little dog. Downsides? This home is on a busy street (not the owner's fault!) and so noise is pretty constant. Also, the place could have used a good dusting and I had to clean portions of the bathroom before we could/would use it. Overall, we would recommend this place for a long (or short) term stay.

Comfortable and convenient.

  • 4 of 5

We just stayed in this home for over two weeks, and found it to be very comfortable and convenient for our needs. The interior is spacious with nice furnishings. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen had the items we needed, although extra linens would have been nice. Having a washer and dryer just off the kitchen was a bonus. We also appreciated the garage and small yard. The location of the home was convenient to shopping, Highway 101 and Old Town. We even did some bike riding from the house using the streets with bike lanes.

We did notice that the home needed a dusting in places and the kitchen floor needed a good clean, otherwise the house was in good order. Overall, we were pleased with the rental and appreciated the ability to extend our stay a few extra days. We would certainly recommend this home to others.

Beautifully remodeled large home

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this home. The home was very clean and recently updated with hardwood floors and had everything we needed for our stay. Overall we loved this home. There was a bit of traffic noise, but was otherwise quiet and in a safe neighborhood with a park one block away.

A couple of rugs in the bedrooms for those chilly Eureka mornings and a few more pieces (an ottoman and some throw pillows for lounging) in the living room would have made this a five-star review.
