Bwthyn Onnen (Ash Cottage) is a lovely sunny cottage and has been awarded a 4 star grade by the Welsh Tourist Board. The highlight of your stay with us is our sparkling outdoor heated swimming pool which is the largest in this area. There is also a hot tub spa with Cosy Cottage. Enjoy swimming or just relax on the sun loungers surrounding the pool.
In addition we have ride on toys, a dedicated play area with swings and see-saw and young children's slides, and a large football field, well used by 'children' of all ages! We also have a 'Bunny Cuddling' session most evenings when the children can cuddle and help feed the rabbits and guinea-pigs and then help to feed the chickens and collect the eggs. We then find Yorkie and Galaxy, our adorable shetland ponies who love to be fed carrots and have their ears tickled!!
We are open all year and please note our rates vary depending on the time of the year. Please see more information under "More Details".
We have a dedicated BBQ area set near the children's play area so Mum and Dad can enjoy a steak and a bottle of wine while the children enjoy playing in the safe play area. There is fast Wi-fi connection in all the cottages.
Children love the freedom here at Trenewydd and we find that if the children are happy then Mum and Dad are also happy. Many families return for the same weeks, year after year.
We are happy to arrange flowers, chocolates or champagne as an extra special surprise for a birthday or anniversary perhaps.
Walkers and bikers are also welcome here. We are very flexible and endeavour to meet everyone's needs.
Bwthyn Onnen sleeps up to 4 in 2 bedrooms and this cosy cottage is all on one level and is ideal for two to four people.
The wood beamed lounge/diner in this cottage also benefits from a sunny position and features French doors leading onto a patio and lawn.
The kitchen is equipped to a very high standard including electric cooker, washer-dryer, microwave oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster & a full range of crockery, cookware & cutlery.
Bwthyn Onnen's double & twin bedrooms are both fully furnished with honey pine wardrobes, chest of drawers etc.
The bathroom is fitted with electric shower over bath, lever taps to bath and washbasin.
All bed linen is provided and beds are made-up ready for your arrival. Please bring your own tea towels, beach blankets and towels. Towels, for use in the cottage only, can be supplied at £1.50 per week per set of bath towel and hand towel.
Cots and high-chairs are available on request and please remember to bring your own cot bedding,
For a holiday of more than one week the cottage will be cleaned and beds changed on a weekly basis.
This 2 bedroom cottage opens up through large shuttered doors into the next cottage (Bwthyn Derw). The resulting six bedrooms can sleep up to 13 with three bathrooms - ideal for those family occasions.
Enjoying a relaxing swim after spending the afternoon aboard a boat when we went to see the dolphins and seals in Cardigan Bay. What a memorable day!
This is a photo of us with Robson Green who stayed with us while filming this beautiful area for a television documentary. We are so proud of Trenewydd and endeavour to make our guests feel very welcome and at home as soon as they arrive. We give everyone a guided tour of their cottage and the swimming pool and other facilities we have here. We love living here, it's as if we are on holiday everyday. We really do appreciate the variety of scenery that surrounds us, be it stunning coastal views, the beaches or the peaceful countryside that surrounds us.
I originally booked for a smaller property, but as we were just out of the main holiday season we were offered this larger pproperty at no extra cost.
The cottages are simply but comfortably furnished and the kitchens well equipped.
The hosts are extremely welcoming and helpful without interfering in your stay.
We had a problem with our cooker on the first evening, but Mrs Price enabled us to use the kitchen in the adjoining cottage and by the time we returned the next day, the repair had been completed.
Although you cannot easily walk to a pub, it is only a 5 minute drive to the nearest village for all local ameneities, about 10mins drive to Cardigan and like wise to excellent beaches and walking. There was an excellent local produce market in the village, including locally caught fish and the bread from the mill which was very moorish.(we took bread and flour home with us). Further along the coast line there are a range of good places to eat, from pub grub to good quality restaurant dining.
The pool is a real bonus and the chickens/rabbits etc. would keep young children amused.
We found it a tranquil spot and managed to easily explore north, south east and west Pembrokeshire in our week`s stay.
If we return to this area we would have no hesitaion in staying here again.
We are set in 8 acres of beautiful rural countryside close to the stunning views from the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and near to spectacular beaches and coves. Many guests come here to watch the dolphins in Cardigan Bay. We are 3 miles from the historic market town of Cardigan whose Castle has just been re-opened after a £12M refurbishment. The award winning Poppit Sands is a large flat sandy beach backed by sand-dunes with lots of rock pools at low tide and is only 2 miles away - a perfect place for children.
Watching the dolphins play in Cardigan Bay is the highlight of many holidays. You may take a boat out to sea or you may be luck enough to see them from the cliff tops. Seals and bird life also abound around this coastline of Pembrokeshire National Park.
Walkers can enjoy the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path which now forms part of the All Wales Coastal Path and affords absolutely stunning scenery all year round. The Preseli Mountains are close by and are steeped in history.
Locally there are many excellent family attractions including Dyfed Shire Horse Centre, Folly Farm, Oakwood Theme Park, Cardigan Wildlife Park, Cardigan Island Farm Park, Castell Henllys Iron Age Fort to name but a few.
Our local Outdoor Activities Centre offers a 10% discount for outdoor enthusiasts which includes Canoeing, Coasteering, Sea Kayaking, Rock Climbing, Abseiling, Bushcraft, Surfing and White Water Rafting.
Many guests also come to the area to enjoy Horse-Riding, Golf, Sea or Freshwater Fishing, Quad Biking, Hiking and Cycling. Bring your own bikes or hire them locally.
There is a whole range of other things to do and see here for all members of the family including an abundance of craft workshops, woollen mills, castles and gardens to visit. With cheese and flour still being made in the traditional way locally there is a huge variety of fresh local produce to taste and take home with you as gifts for your relatives and friends.
