This comfortable single family home is a short stroll from one of the best beaches in Newport. 34th Street beach is ideal for boogie boarding, surfing, swimming, skim boarding, body surfing or just sunbathing and watching for dolphins playing in the surf near the 36th St jetty! The house features a ground floor master bedroom with en suite bath.
LIVING & DINING
Recently rebuilt with an open floor plan downstairs, the home has a large kitchen on the ground floor with stainless appliances, granite counters and a large island with four seats for informal meals. A flat panel TV and fireplace make the living area with couch and an armchair a prime spot to relax no matter the season. The home's crowning feature is the large front patio with seating for six, a gas BBQ and retractable awning for shade on hot summer afternoons and evenings. Upstairs, the spacious bonus room has a wet bar with sink, mini-fridge and microwave, sectional sofa and table with chairs for board games or playing cards after a long, restful day at the beach. A TV with cable access and balcony with sliding glass doors to usher in cool summer breezes round out the amenities.
BED & BATH
The roomy ground floor bedroom has a king bed and flat panel TV, en suite bath with walk in shower and dual sinks, plus an extra sink. The master bath can be closed off so that just the toilet and extra sink are available to visitors. A door from outside leads into the bathroom so beach goers can rinse off and enter directly without their sandy feet traipsing through the house.
With a huge family room, two guest bedrooms and a full bath, the upstairs would be a separate unit save for the stairway leading back downstairs. The first bedroom has a queen bed, the second, two twins. The large family room has an L-shaped sectional sofa with enough seating for all, a table and chairs, sink, flat panel TV, mini-fridge and microwave.
• BR 1: Master suite with king bed, TV and en-suite bath.
• BR 2: Guest bedroom with queen bed, shared bath with bedroom three.
• BR 3: Guest bedroom with two twins, shared bath with bedroom two.
This lovely home is located a little more than two blocks from one of the best beaches in Newport. When you're able to tear yourself away from the beach, the front patio is the next best place to be. It's never unbearably hot with the retractable awning to protect from direct sun, and the table and chairs are comfortable for sipping lemonade or something stronger. Sliding glass doors on the upstairs deck allow ocean breezes to cool the second floor on hotter evenings.
The large two car garage has a laundry area and extra room to store a bike or two. You may park a small vehicle on the pad behind the garage.
The beach at 34th is protected by jetties at 32nd and 36th Streets, which makes the surf here ideal for all water sports - boogie boarding, surfing, body surfing, skim boarding and swimming. A pair of dolphins are frequently spotted playing at the tip of the 36th St jetty. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, two blocks from the grocery store and close to dozens of shops and restaurants. The newly re-opened Lido Marina Village boasts high end shopping and dining, with Planet Blue and Nobu, and more affordable bayfront options like Circle Hook for fish & chips and Zinque for breakfast, lunch or dinner with a European flair. Malibu Farms offers farm to table cuisine as well as coffee and freshly made ice cream (with vegan options!). Lido Village Books features reading material of every genre and books by local authors. Lido Drug across the street is a treasure trove of gifts and hard to find items. Next door, the Lido Theatre, built in 1938, provides a unique venue for movie viewers, with black light decor and a balcony for prime viewing of the latest big screen features. You'l need to plan carefully to be able to explore everything the area has to offer!
