There are two inside dogs in the main house who will be out in the yard from time to time, but they are well mannered and should not affect your stay (They are quiet 99% of the time and even after dozens of guests have stayed at our property, we have never had a complaint about them).

It is located near the University of Tulsa & Downtown Tulsa, near Route 66 & Cherry Street (15th street between Peoria & Harvard). It is less than a mile from the Fairgrounds. Furthermore, it is conveniently located near St. Johns Medical Center, OSU Medical Center, & Hillcrest Hospital.

We have a large map available with many local attractions listed on the table which you can write on with a dry-erase marker. We also have many of our favorite places on our 'Guidebook' online which we can provide at request.

We are about five minutes away from great concert & entertainment venues such as the BOK Center, Tulsa Performing Arts Center & Cain’s Ballroom.

Local elegant shopping & dining spots include Utica Square, Cherry Street & Brookside. The Deco District has a variety of restaurants & shopping areas in the heart of downtown including unique Art-Deco-themed shop Decopolis & a Mid-Century-themed restaurant The Vault.

A car is recommended for anywhere in Tulsa. However, other transportation options around the area and to downtown are available and reasonably priced. We have had guests stay without a car and enjoy their time. There are a couple dozen restaurants within walking distance. A bicycle has been recommended to enjoy the area.

By Taxi: Taxis are easily available along with ride-share/taxi services such as Uber & Lyft. These two services are often available to the home within 5 minutes. Taxi cost to downtown is typically $6-10.

Stylish and fun. We loved this studio in the Cherry District!

  • 5 of 5

The studio was beautiful, clean and well appointed. Surprisingly, the couch/bed was quite comfy, and my daughter slept on the fold out cot. Both the bed and cot had clean, cushioned pads over the top. We utilized the mini frig, microwave, Keurig daily. All worked well and was quite convenient. We loved the side yard- super fun at night, almost like a cool restaurant bar with overhead lights, fireplace, and bean bag toss. The whole place is very stylish and retro cool.

Beyond the accommodations, the owners are a delightful young couple and went out of their way to accommodate us. One morning my uber app would not set us up with a ride, so the owner offered to take us where we needed to go. So nice!

Around the corner is a great little cafe where we had a delicious breakfast, and Merritts bakery is just a couple blocks away also. They have amazing donuts! There is the University Wash- a laundromat with games and a bar just around the corner.

We found this studio to be a great alternative to a hotel.

Nice neighborhood. Clean new place.

  • 4 of 5

I previously left a review and thought it was unfair. I couldn't edit it on VRBO so though I'd post a more balanced account. Overall we really had a nice stay here. The neighborhood was neat and we were comfortable walking around. There were plenty of other neighbors walking around. Location was convenient for us. We had a couple electrical issues which were annoying but they did say they had an electrician who would be fixing those. I rewrote this partly because I remembered they were out of town and did offer to send someone out to fix the doorknob when we had issues. There were also a couple fans and a space heater which we didn't realize until the last day and wish we had known. It was a good alternative to a hotel and at a very good price point. If they get the electrical worked out and doorknob fixed, we would recommend this place and will consider staying here again.

Bungalow in Tulsa

  • 2 of 5

Positives: Great location, close to everything we wanted to see or do. Clean. Accommodating to small pet owners. Quaint neighborhood, where it is a pleasure to walk around. Felt very safe.

Negatives: There is no way to control the temperature in the bungalow. Apparently the thermostat is in the neighboring apartment. The TV is not hooked up to cable, so no stations. All we had to watch was Netflix. The last night we were there, the CFG outlet kept popping off. We had to turn the TV off, so the refrigerator would continue running. The small back yard is made up of overgrown weeds. After returning from a walk the first evening we were there, the doorknob to the bungalow didn't work. It just kept spinning and didn't turn the latch to get in. We were stuck outside with no money (billfold in room) and no car keys (in the room). All we had was a cell phone. I called Matt, knowing that he was not personally available that evening. I explained the dire situation we were in; locked out of our room, with no keys to go anywhere else and no money to pay for anything. He did not offer to send anyone over to help. He did not offer to send a locksmith. He did not offer to send a carpenter or anyone else who might be able to get us into the bungalow. His only suggestion was to keep trying and to control my temper. I took his suggestion and tried to calm down. After about 20 minutes of jimmying the doorknob, it finally opened. Not the kind of management we have come to expect from Home Away.

Owner's Response: We are very sorry you had a bad experience and hope we can make it up. We strive to make this an excellent place for every guest, but unfortunately we fell short on this one. We are also disappointed that this review contains some false information. Guests do have control of temperature: 1) There is a space heater 2) There are a couple of fans 3) It is kept around 70 degrees F and guests can have the temperature changed if desired. Gary did not bring this up until day he checked out. This is mentioned in the "info sheet" we have there. Besides free Netflix (with tens of thousands of options), there is also Amazon Prime included and many other streaming services including ESPN, movie streaming apps and many others. Plus there is a digital antenna for TV. We may add cable, but the listing does not list cable. Unfortunately, when Gary was here, the doorknob broke (It is an old 1920's doorknob) and I was out of town or I would have been there within minutes. That would be very frustrating. Gary called me and I asked questions to assess the situation when he started yelling at me. I was trying to figure out what the issue was so we could know which tools were needed to tell our friend who we asked to be our "backup" while we were gone. I did offer to have someone come over to fix it but fortunately they got it opened. It is now fixed. We also have had an electrician add another breaker for the refrigerator to avoid the GFCI outlet resetting. As far as the back yard, it was the end of winter when they visited and before the Bermuda grass comes back, the yard is full of chickweed as is common in many yards around here. The yard and multiple patios are beautiful outdoor living spaces and we get many compliments from guests about them. See the photos! Overall, we appreciate feedback so we can improve where needed. We also appreciate honest fair reviews. We have enjoyed hosting many guests from all over and the majority have had good experiences based on the 100+ positive reviews we have received and 4.7 out of 5 stars average rating across our listings.

Bigger than hotel rooms at half the price

  • 5 of 5

I typically stay in one of the hotels downtown which are around $150/night. I thought I would give this place a try at half that price. It exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed my four-day stay at this place. It was perfect for a single traveler and spacious enough for a couple. The space is as described. It feels brand new. The bed set up was comfortable. Having windows (3) that open was a plus. The bathroom was the right size. And plenty of closet space. I could leave the couch in permanent bed mode and still have several places to sit and relax. The space is attached to the main house. But I never heard a peep, or bark. The neighborhood is super quiet. And it has nice broad streets that are great for cycling. There's a nice bar/laundromat within walking distance. I would gladly stay there again.

Excelllent Studio

  • 5 of 5

I stay in this studio for 5 nights. The room was exactly as described and was very clean. I slept great and it was close to everything I needed in Tulsa (OU, Restaurants, Gym). I would stay here again. Much less expensive than a hotel.
