About Brandy Ringgard

I am originally from Orange County California but have lived in the mountains since 2002. I love Leadville and all of the wonderful people I have gotten to know here. I enjoy spending time with my family, playing with my dogs and traveling. I decided to use VRBO to rent out my property because I have had such great luck with them when I travel.

Brandy Ringgard purchased this house in 2006

What makes this house unique

We are a short two blocks from downtown. There is a liquor store within walking distance and Mt Massive is visible from the front door.

Great Accomodations, Friendly Owners and Sweet Town

  • 5 of 5

I came here to get away from the city for a night and felt at home right away. The décor was welcoming and the bed very comfortable. This place has a gothic vibe and felt sumptuous. I wish I could have stayed longer. I accidentally locked myself out and the owner was quick to respond, she couldn't have been nicer. It snowed during my stay and she helped shovel the parking space for me.I read another review that stated there were no doors between the rooms but there is a locking door between the bedroom and living area as well as a closet. The space is appointed with a coffee pot ( she even included coffee, hot chocolate and tea), a microwave and a nice fridge that was able to accommodate my ice cream in the freezer. It is a short walk to town and Brandy is knowledgeable about the area. I was here alone and it was so nice to have the owner so close in case I needed anything. I couldn't recommend this place anymore. I was able to make a reservation directly with her just a few short hours before check in and she was great about it. This owner cares about your comfort and wants to make sure you have a good time. She works hard to make people feel welcome. STAY HERE!!!! There is no kitchen but I have realized that cooking and cleaning while on holiday sucks and I don't want to pay more for a kitchen I wont really use anyway. There are cheap eats available in town and I ate a the Mexican Food Truck by Safeway (at Brandy's recommendation) EXCELLENT!!! Stay in Leadville and skip the lift lines at the resorts, Ski Cooper is a gem!

If you are looking for kindness and compassion make certain you avoid Leadville and it's residents!

  • 1 of 5

I came here looking for a place to escape from it all as due to horrible circumstances beyond my control I had to close my business, sell my home of 25 years and leave what family I had behind as I just couldn't make it in Az any longer. I was not only grieving these things but also the death date of my middle son several years ago. I was harassed by the owner because my dogs peed in front of her home, I didn't respond to her texts as quickly as she would have liked, and ultimately was forced to leave as I had turned on the bath hot water (with the tub valve open) and then fell asleep for a brief period of time after I made the mistake of having a few drinks on an empty stomach after a 10 Mile snow hike.

Succinctly put, this place is neither people nor pet friendly.

Owner's Response: Sandy, I am sorry that you are having a hard time and I tried to work with you. Dear Future Guests: Initially I had written a retort to this review but am not certain that is the best way to go about it. I did ask her not to let her dog create a dog urine ice skating rink in front of the door several times because she was tracking it in. My neighbors have asked me not to allow pets anymore because she let her dogs defecate all over the street, on the sidewalk & in their yards. I had to clean up stinky, soggy dog droppings b/c she refused. Next, she sent an abundance of drunken texts after I made her aware of the leash law. She called my rental& my town a scam & said she wouldnt invest her "hard won inheritance" here because people were mean. Neighbors were upset that she was turning our street into a dog toilet & made it known to her. She got angry & smashed several decorations, including throwing my grandmothers crystal vase in the neighbors yard, tearing stuff off the walls, scratching up my paint and letting her dogs sleep on the bed & couches. After 11 days of trying to deal with her tantrums SHE LET THE HOT WATER RUN DOWN THE DRAIN FOR AN HOUR WHILE SHE WAS PASSED OUT. My water heater sent me a message, detecting a leak. I texted her & got no response for 20 min. My family & I were worried that she was dead so we checked in on her. She told my husband & I that she didn't recall turning the water on. At that point I told her that she would have to leave. She refused & I had to call the police. When she saw them she began packing. She left a half burned envelope under the sink, attempting to burn my property? IDK. And a baggie of blue pills on the fridge. I imagine this is why she didnt recall many conversations. She claims to be a therapist but was loaded on hard narcotics & booze to the blackout stage much of her stay. I never have as much contact with a guest as I did with her but the neighbors were constantly complaining. I wish I would have followed my instincts and asked her to leave sooner. Due to her, I had to raise my damage deposit & stop allowing dogs for the time being. I have added new security features and am trying not to let this one very bad apple taint the fact that I have had so many wonderful guests. The police have been notified of her destruction&her license plate number. They will continue patrol my area in case she comes back. Paint yourself purple and smoke as much dope as you want (outside) but hard drugs are not welcome here.

Creating a Leadville Love Affair!

  • 5 of 5

In order to take advantage of Leadville's proximity to Copper and the town's many Nordic trails, my husband and I rented this cute bungalow-esque VRBO for two days -looked at the weather- and booked it for the rest of the week. Just off the main drag, the cute and comfortable property lies within walking distance of downtown, the library, liquor store, and the Mineral Belt, allowing one to do the full loop either on skate skis or classic.

The Internet runs a bit slow, but all the better for unplugging and enjoying one's vacation! If one does require a faster connection, however, the library, local coffee shop, as well as the Golden Burrow are super close and offer some great snacks, solace, and Internet service. As the property also does not have a kitchen, cooking is not really an option; however, I found it a nice break from cooking and a great excuse to check out restaurants in Leadville as well as Summit County's apres-ski scene.

The owner was also quick to respond with any inquiries we had upon the place and pleasantly solicitous about our stay and comfort. My husband and I cannot wait to book this place again!

Totally Leadville

  • 5 of 5

We were welcomed with flashing Christmas lights inside and out with the inside of the house being warm and cozy. There isn't one thing I would change and will definitely stay here again.
