Beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

We woke up to a beautiful view of the lake from the living room. And I proceeded to the waters edge to enjoy my morning cup of coffee. I would return with less on the schedule to be able to allow for time on the water with the canoe and kayaks.

Randall made the experience easy. There was a dusting of snow the day of our arrival. He reached out to let me know as well as to say he would salt the walk way. There was also information about how things in the house function. I have no doubt that if we had any issues or questions during our stay he would have been very responsive.

Beautiful view...relaxing hot tub

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I were looking for a quiet place that offered a beautiful lake view, a private hot tub and allowed our old dog to come with us. This Cayuga Lake house fit our needs and wants. It was very clean and the owner’s detailed instructions were precise and very helpful. He was a minutes text away. My husband and I will definitely stay at his place again if we travel through the Ithaca area again.

Great location and great layout of house

  • 5 of 5

Very good location. On the lake, with views of Cornell U. and wonderful sunsets. House was very comfortable for two couples. We especially enjoyed views of lake from the wall of windows in the living room, and nice kitchen.

Photos don't do it justice!

  • 5 of 5

I rented the house the weekend of 9/15/17 for 2 nights for my twin sister's bachelorette party getaway. I chose this house because of its location and amenities: 2 bathrooms (a must for 6 women), kayaks/canoe, fire pit, hot tub, and lakeside view!

Finding the house was very easy, the driveway was tricky only because I rented a Yukon for all of us to fit in, but there was ample parking for the massive SUV. The house was clean upon arrival and had everything as expected except a decent pancake griddle (recipe for disaster the morning I made pancakes). The spiral staircase, although cute, was a PITA to get up and down with luggage/bags in hand. Those are the only 2 complaints I have though!

The view is absolutely breathtaking and we enjoyed seeing squirrels in the trees & ducks in the lake! A visit by the neighbors kitten, Mazie, was an extra perk too. We kayaked across the lake and back, melted in the hot tub for a couple hours and, of course, enjoyed the proximity to so many wineries on Seneca Lake and Cayuga Lake. We saw Cornell University campus, Triphammer Falls, Taughannock Falls (highly recommend) and Ithaca Falls. Highly recommend stopping at Cayuga Lake Creamery and Chateau Lafayette Reneau was my favorite winery because of the incredible view (and amazing 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Owner's Reserve!) with Americana Vineyards a close 2nd because of all of the doggies at the winery! =>

Dr. Corey was very easy to communicate with, answered all of my questions quickly and included very thorough instructions on how to manage the house for the weekend. We all want to make this an annual vacation for us girls since we had such an incredible and relaxing weekend!! Thank you Dr. Corey for sharing your beautiful home with all of us. We cannot wait to do it again!

Very nice spot on Cayuga

  • 4 of 5

If you are looking for a lake house on Cayuga, this one is very good. Location about 1 mi North of Treman Marina / dog park / Hangar Theater area, 10 mins from downtown Ithaca or the all-important Wegman's supermarket, 15 min from Cornell (18 min at rush hour), 5 miles from beautiful Taughannock Falls park to the North. The place is embedded in a steep embankment, as are all the houses on the southwest side of Cayuga -- the driveway descends about 3 stories to a cluster of 3 houses, somewhat closely packed -- this is the middle one. It is 2 stories, with a deck and about 2 more stories of staircase down to lake level, with a bit of beach, boat house, canoe and kayaks, fireplace, dock. The deck has nice lakeview eating/sitting/jacuzzi/grill options. The house is comfortably furnished, good kitchen, dining room with lakeview, metal spiral staircase to 2nd floor with 2BRs and bath/laundry. All systems were well documented and user-friendly. We would happily stay again.

Cozy and convenient

  • 4 of 5

This was our 2nd time renting this property. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you need to prepare meals, BBQ grill right outside kitchen door . Living room with its floor to ceiling widows offer Great Lake views. Be advised there is a spiral metal staircase to bedrooms on 2nd floor which may be a challenge to some ppl . The lake area is shallow enough for little ones, and gradually gets deeper. Water shoes highly recommended! Deck has2 dining tables, a lovely place to enjoy dinner or breakfast! Hot tub a bonus after a long day of hiking or touring the many lovely things the area has to offer.

Host of the rental is extremely prompt to get back to you with any questions or concerns. A true pleasure to work with.

This home is only about 10 minutes to Ithaca where there is shopping and many wonderful dining options. Perfectly located to make a quick run to the Ithaca bakery or purity ice cream company!
