This Montana getaway is an idyllic destination with a river flowing through the property and no permanent neighbors, almost guaranteeing peace and quiet.
Situated on moderately forested 10 acres, this modern cabin is truly a special place located in Condon, in Montana's Swan Valley. The valley is renowned for its wildlife and as a result fox, elk, deer, wolves, black and grizzly bear, and mountain lion have all been seen or tracked on the property.
You'll absolutely love the cabin with its blend of modern architecture and breathtaking scenery.
The 1700-square foot cabin was built in 2011 and features a corrugated steel exterior and a simple, modern interior with high-quality finishes like Cambria counter tops and Bosch appliances. Less is definitely more in this home!
The cabin's simple yet sophisticated T-shape design features living space on one side and sleeping on the other. The living side has an open floor plan including kitchen island, booth seating dining area that can accommodate up to 12 people, and comfortable living room. Double sliding doors provide access to the patio and grill. With concrete floors and vertical grain Douglas fir doors and cabinetry throughout, this cabin should be featured in Dwell or Sunset magazine.
Separated from the living side by a sliding door, the sleeping side features a master bedroom with one queen bed and a single-size window daybed that offers spectacular views of the Swan Mountains and Swan River. The second bedroom has a double over double bunk bed and, while the third room has 1 double and 1 single bed. Bathroom, shower and laundry are here also.
The cabin has an adjacent 16-foot square patio with teak table and cedar chairs and wood chip path leading past the hammock to the river. The property includes a terrific tree house and hanging bar to entertain the kids, a hammock overlooking the river for the adults to unwind, and a fire pit for gathering during the cool, mosquito-free evenings. On a clear night, the view of the stars is better than a planetarium!
We hope you find the escape you’re looking for at our modern Montana cabin.

Brad and Alex live in Missoula with their three young children. We purchased the property in 2009 and built the cabin in 2011.

We enjoy the mountains, river and nearby hiking, and have convinced the kids to love swimming in 65 degree river water. We appreciate modern architecture and are very fortunate to own this awesome getaway.
This cabin is the perfect retreat. Well designed, comfortable and room to spare with the Swan river and mountains as your backyard. Kids loved the beach and the tree house. Great access to both the Missions and Swans. The owners were very helpful and made logistics easy. We loved it!!
We were looking for a secluded, off the grid location and we found it. There was very limited cell coverage and no WiFi, but we found it incredibly refreshing to completely disconnect from the world for a week and enjoy the gorgeous location. The local deer population made themselves known.
The fishing was ok. There were lots of hungry trout, but they were all on the small side. The river around the house was very hard to fish - lots of logjams and underwater obstacles which translates into lots of lost flies.
The surrounding mountains provide many hiking opportunities. We were lucky enough to find a patch of huckleberry bushes full of ripe fruit ready to be picked.
The house itself had everything to suit our needs. All of the equipment and appliances were top notch and it was the first house I've rented that had good, sharp knives. The only thing missing was a microwave. The beds were of high quality and were very comfortable. It got quite cool at night but I got some is the best sleep I've had in a long time. The fire pit was well used for both cooking and for an evening conversation location.
The owners were available if necessary and we're eager to please. They did not disappoint. If you're looking for a quiet, off the grid location surrounded by beautiful scenery, look no further. This house is highly recommended.
We couldn't have been more impressed with this property. It's immaculately maintained, spacious, and light filled, with gorgeous views of the Swan River, just a five-minute walk from the back deck. The area provides easy access to Swan-Seeley recreation, including Holland Lake, Seeley Lake, and Glacier National Park. The owners were courteous, prompt, and professional in all communication. We recommend this rental highly!
We had such a fantastic girls weekend at this beautiful home! The design of the house was so lovely and clean, and easy to keep that way without feeling like your walking on tiptoes! All the kitchen equipment we could have wanted was available and the beds were so comfy! We could not have asked for anything better and never had to leave the property during our stay because we had everything we needed and more, though there was a small store very close by! We enjoyed the naturally beautiful landscape around the property and spent so much time on the beautiful Swan river with a perfect swimming hole!
When booking the property I was in frequent contact with the owner and she was so accommodating to our partucular needs and questions, always responding within 24 hrs! All of us girls want to come back every year now and would recommend this property to anyone looking for a secluded, beautiful Montana getaway!
This property is simply stunning. You feel completely alone in the beauty of Condon. The property seems to bend along the river-so you get a panoramic view from the kitchen. The house is well-appointed and the location fantastic for outdoor adventures. Lakes and hiking trails-many with kid-friendly jaunts-are minutes away. Also there are stores close by in case you forget anything.
The house is clean and well-appointed with a great kitchen-dining area and porch. The bedrooms easily accommodate two families.
Our kids loved the treehouse and we all enjoyed walks along the river. We saw copious wildlife both during the day and at night. The kids could swim safely in the rocky sloughs and there are a couple good fishing holes within walking distance.
We have stayed here a couple of times over the last 2 years and absolutely LOVE this place. It has everything you could possibly need and is in a stunning location. We love to hike, fish and enjoy the lakes in the near vicinity. We did some great huckleberry picking close by last year which is always an added bonus. This house is fabulous, extremely well kept and clean and you could not find a more peaceful location.
The Swan Valley is 30 miles long and 10 miles wide and features the Swan Mountain Range to the east and the Missions to the west. The valley is part of what is called the Crown of the Continent, which represents the largest intact ecosystem in the United States where the list of plant and animal species living here has remained unchanged since the time of the Lewis and Clark's expedition.
An abundance of wildlife such as black and grizzly bears, whitetail and mule deer, elk, fox, wolves and turkeys have all been seen or tracked on the property. Bald eagle, Pileated and Hairy woodpeckers, xx nuthatches, mallard, teal, and Canadian geese are frequent visitors.
There is plenty to do including fishing and swimming right out the back door. Swimming beaches can be found at Swan Lake, 25 minutes to the north, or at Holland Lake, 10 minutes to the southeast. Or, try your luck at fishing at both lakes.
Golf is available at Double Arrow Lodge in Seeley Lake, 25 minutes to the south or at Eagle Bend Golf Club in Bigfork, 40 minutes to the northwest.
There are many great hikes within a 20-minute drive of the property, not to mention the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area and Jewel Basin hiking area as two special destinations very much worth exploring.
The town of West Glacier and the entrance to Glacier National Park, is a 75-minute/65 miles drive. For you history buffs, the Upper Swan Valley Historical Museum is two miles away.
Driving north takes you past beautiful Swan Lake and into Bigfork, which is known for its high-end art galleries and live theater along with many fine dinning establishments.
Seeley Lake, located 25 minutes to the south, features boat and bike rentals, casual dinning, and a medical facility.
