**We also own and rent out a cottage in nearby Sodus Point - A Little Peace at The Point - please check it out**

Totally renovated in 2014 the cottage is located among 1800’s homes and just a half-mile from historic Pultneyville. This sweet little abode began life in the early 1900’s as the Pultneyville Harbor Office, before being moved to its present location in the 1950’s. In 2014 we went through it stem to stern, and painted, mended, or replaced everything in her, while keeping the original heart and soul of the cottage.

The family room has a sofa (sleeper) and 2 chairs, plus a bar height table and stools for dining or game-play. A Flat screen TV with Google Chromecast is provided and free Wi-Fi. (NOTE Strong reception for AT&T & Verizon Wireless cell service)

Mature shade trees and a wonderful lake breeze keep you cool in the summer. **NEW in 2016 we added a window AC Unit that works great even on the hottest of days** 3 Fans are also provided. In the off-season a new in 2017 furnace keeps you warm & cozy.

The newly renovated kitchen features all new appliances, cabinets and finishes. If you want to cook, the kitchen is ready for you with complete cookware and dinnerware. A microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, and a blender are included too. An outside gas grill is also provided.

There are 2 bedrooms, both with double beds (NEW Serta Perfect Sleepers 2015). There is a sleeper sofa in the living room that sleeps 2 as well. Linens included! (additional fees apply for more than 4 people).

The bathroom has all new fixtures and finishes and is very roomy, and includes a tub/shower unit. Towels provided.

***Please note there is to be NO SMOKING in The Cottage***

Step outside and enjoy seating on the covered front porch, with a beautiful view of the cherry orchard across the street (we are surrounded by orchards). In the back is a stone patio with a table and chairs, and a fire pit (wood is available). A short 5 minute walk across the street brings you to a 100-foot high bluff with beautiful views of Lake Ontario.

And there is plenty to do nearby…the area is known for antique shops, dining, boating, and fishing.

Take a half-mile walk to town, and you’ll find the Pultneyville Deli & Up Pub, The Owl House & Swilly's, an Art Gallery, museum, antique shop, churches, and beautiful Pultneyville Harbor.

10 minutes east by car is Sodus Point, a dining, boating and fishing mecca. There are 2 lighthouses, a museum (free summer Sunday concerts on the lawn 2PM), fishing pier, several marinas, boat rentals, charter fishing boats, 2 playgrounds, skate park, ball field, really nice public beach(with lifeguards), multiple restaurants (open late), ice cream stands, gift shop, church, and convenience market.

3 miles east is Hughes Marina, with fishing, boat docks, boat launches and boat and kayak rentals. 4 miles west is the Bear Creek boat launch operated by the Town of Ontario (permit required), and this is a very popular fishing location.

Palmyra is 20 minutes south.

We live right next door and will be happy to be your host for your stay, and help you locate any of the local services. Why choose a hotel for more money when you can stay with us at The Pultneyville Harbor Office Cottage.

About Tom & Shelly Baker

We are a working couple with grown kids and 2 dogs, and we love the country. Our families have been in the area for over a hundred years. Shelly's grandmother was even the Pultneyville Postmaster.

Our house right next door is an 1883 farm house, largely original, and with 7 acres with lake views.

We spend our spare time fixing up the place and refinishing antiques. A lot of the time we sit on the porch and, sit.

Like you we also love to travel, and do a lot of that.

Tom & Shelly Baker purchased this cottage in 2012

Why Tom & Shelly Baker chose Williamson

This cottage was on the property next to our house when we bought it in 2012. In 2014 we finally got around to renovating it. It had been migrant housing for many years. It's popular now as a jump off point for Rochester and the finger Lakes region, as well as for snow-birds coming back, with fishermen, and also with bicyclists.

What makes this cottage unique

The PHOC is close to everything, but quiet and peaceful. We have priced this to be gentle on your wallet, but with all that you need. We love meeting our new guests, and hope they feel like family and keep coming back.

Just OK

  • 3 of 5

We were expecting a view of the lake, we later found out that one of the pictures taken was from the owner's house at their camp fire and not from the back yard of the rental. The house was exactly as expected but the VRBO Fees made our inexpensive get-a-way not worth the trouble.

Lovely little cottage

  • 5 of 5

A perfect place to stay to get away from the rush of everyday life. Loved walking through the orchard to the bluff overlooking the lake and sitting outside enjoying the sounds of nature.

Small, but efficient

  • 4 of 5

The cottage had everything we needed, including a great fire pit, and wonderful fireflies for the granddaughters to chase. Very conveniently located so we were close to our Rochester family, but not TOO close. We highly recommend it for a quiet getaway from bustling city life.

Homey, comfortable cottage in beautiful, peaceful area

  • 5 of 5

Loved staying in the cottage. Beautiful country setting overlooking apple orchards and a short walk to a bluff with spectacular views of Lake Ontario. The town is very picturesque with a wonderful park, and it is an easy drive to Sodus Point lighthouse and beach, as well as Chimney Bluffs state park. Also enjoyed the antiques stores and fishing nearby. Owner was very helpful and welcoming. Would definitely go back!
