About Traycie Jones

I am a stay at home Mum and am very involved in my toddler's day to day activities. I enjoy spending time outdoors, gardening and tending to our beautiful property. I love to read and go swimming at the local pool or Spider Lake.

Cooking for my friends and family is always fun, trying new recipes and culinary techniques.

Traveling is my passion and although I don't get much of a chance to do it these days, I hope to in the future, exploring new cultures and history.

I hope to provide a warm and relaxing atmosphere for guests providing information and whatever else is required.

Traycie Jones purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Traycie Jones chose Vancouver Island

When we bought our 11 acre property, it had our main house and a shell of a cabin. There were no floors, adequate stairs or walls.

Accommodations are very important to me when traveling, I wanted to transfer this cabin into something I would enjoy staying in and something guests would be comfortable and enjoy as much as I did.

We began extensive renovations in May 2014. We lucked out and found the best carpenter ever! Walls went up, floors went down, old stuff got touch ups and new stuff found it's way into the space. Recently we were fortunate enough to put a spectacular wrap around deck around the cabin which enables guests to sit outside and get the most amazing views of our very active pond!

What makes this cabin unique

This space is amazing for watching wildlife, from eagles nesting, ducks swimming, beavers paddling, deer grazing and fish jumping! A variety of fresh herbs available at the front of the cabin (seasonal) and huge blackberry bushes located just off the deck area.

Having morning coffee on the deck at sunrise or wine at dusk, the views will not disappoint.

Fishing in the pond is always enjoyable, you won't catch any ten pounders but there is an abundance if you just want to fish for fun!

Amazing Place!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I wanted a quiet little get away and we got just that. The Cabin is perfect with everything you need. They did a beautiful job with the Cabin. The setting by the pond was fabulous! Drinking our morning coffee while watching the ducks. We really appreciate that our furry children were welcome and they enjoyed the stay as much as we did. We highly recommend it and would love to return some time. Traycie was a wonderful host we have been telling our friends and family all about our great stay.

Total relaxation! Fabulous spot!!!!

  • 5 of 5

I was looking for total relaxation and a getaway from the stresses of work. When I came down the driveway I was a little concerned how close the cabin was to the main house. My two small dogs where with me and I didn't want a situation where they heard other people and barked. I unpacked after 'talking' to the deer that greeted me and settled in. Not a sound from the main house for two days-not a whisper. The deck was amazing and totally private. It looked right over a huge pond and I watched the ducks swim for hours. The resident beaver fascinated me with his building skills! It rained but it simply didn't matter. Don't hesitate-stay here. I will go back for sure. Thank you to the owners for allowing my dogs-it is very appreciated. It was the break and birthday treat I hoped for!

Peaceful, comfortable, picturesque (with A/C!)

  • 5 of 5

Just what the doctor ordered. Afternoons watching the wildlife in the private pond, from the sunny deck. Cabin is well-appointed, neat and functional. We visited during a hot spell, and were pleasantly surprised to find a ceiling fan and air conditioning were part of the package. Close to Spider Lake, Horne Lake, Qualicum Bay / Beach for day trips. Hosts were responsive and attentive, whilst giving us the privacy we prefer. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
