Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for our wonderful stay. Everything was very clean. We had plenty of clean towels for the week. The extra pillows were a nice touch too. We were so happy to find the coffee that you provided because we forgot ours. The weather was mild so we enjoyed the deck and grill. Thank you for being there when we got lost on the wine trail. We will be back again.

An Amazingly peaceful retreat

  • 5 of 5

Myself and 2 friends stayed for 5 days in this great cabin backing up to Shawnee Forest. The house was great, a quaint little house with comfy beds and a fully stocked kitchen. Everything was clean and comfortable. The back deck was amazing for sitting out at night and looking at the stars. I highly recommend this location. And Andrea and Gary's recommendation for the Brickstone for dinner...best part of the trip.

This is an Excellent Property

  • 5 of 5

We have rented many times using VRBO, and this property is one of the best. The large back deck, and the view of the National Forest from it, really make this property special. We were the lucky ones who got this property for the eclipse. The entire event was viewed in peaceful natural surroundings, with an air conditioned house right behind us to cool off in as needed. The eclipse fit perfectly between the trees, and the high deck made it a wonderful, bug free, crowd free experience.

If you rent this property you should spend time out on the deck. The first evening we saw deer coming out of the woods. We ate all of our meals out at the table you see in the pictures, including breakfast.

Inside, the house is extremely well organized and clean. Everything worked as stated online. Very large TV in living room, very comfortable bed in the main bedroom (which is all we used.)

The kitchen has everything you need for cooking: pots and pans, nice gas stove, microwave, toaster, and a full complement of plates, glasses, and silverware. There is also a nice propane grill on the back deck that we used a couple of times.

The bathroom has a big counter and double sink, and the shower was really nice, with both a regular shower head and a hand held, and lots of shelves to hold shampoo, soap and other shower essentials. The towels in the bathroom and at the spa are really thick and good quality.

The hot tub was wonderful as well. All the jets worked fine, and the temperature was perfect.

The location is very close to the small towns of Cobden and Alto Pass, and there are many wineries very close by.

The owners responded quickly to text messages and handled all of our questions and inquiries within a matter of minutes.

This is a beautiful property and you will greatly enjoy your stay here if you decide to give it a try.
