Jon and Lara were both raised and still live with our three kids in the Walker area. Can't think of a better place to live.
Jon & Lara Stewart purchased this house in 2005
We bought this property in 2005 to raise our young family in. Since childhood we have both always lived on Leech Lake and this property offered many of the unique benefits to living and raising a family in this wonderful vacationland. The quiet rural setting with large level property gave our family plenty of room to enjoy the best of what Minnesota has to offer. For ten years we have enjoyed the outdoor living this property provides. Biking, canoeing, yard games, four-wheeling, snowmobiles, and of course fishing on one of, if not the greatest, lake in Minnesota have all been the joys of living on this property.
In 2015 we purchased a home and property in the city of Walker adjoining family property and much closer to our business. We still have the lake and the convenience to our business is nice, but we no longer have the peaceful tranquility and expanse this property offers.
In the many years we lived in this house, the southern exposure proved to be a huge benefit. Protection from the cold northwest wind meant we enjoyed many more days outside enjoying the yard, deck and Steamboat Bay. A northern exposure would have made these days miserable. The cold winds and rain usually do not come from the south. In the summer you can usually expect a nice southerly breeze off the lake to keep you comfortable. If you are vacationing in a questionable weather season it just may be the difference of enjoying the outside or staying in.
This was an awesome spot for my family to get together for the weekend. Much more than what We expected, one night There was 16 adults and 6 children under 4yrs old and having 2 big living rooms was awesome and plenty of room. Can't wait to do it again next year, everyone had a great time.
We had 12 people here and the cabin was super clean very spacious and the owners were great. Our grandchildren are 15-25 the yard was perfect for lots of activities we had a wonderful week
Having been to Leech Lake numerous times, we were looking for nice quiet spot for a family get together. We found the perfect spot! Very nice, large lot with plenty of space to do multiple activities for everyone both young and old. Home was very clean, roomy, open and had plenty of sleeping space for everyone. The harbor was a great area that provided protection for our boat and pontoon. Definitely recommend giving this home a try for a nice getaway - you won't be disappointed!
Jon and Lara were great to work with and extremely quick with responses to any questions. We had a big group with 13 adults and two small children and had plenty of room for everyone. We had a great time fishing, enjoying campfires, grilling out, yard games, and playing in the "big water" as the little people put it. We made some great memories and would definitely rent from them again.
Jon and Lara were great when setting up our rental. They responded quickly and were very helpful. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We had a family get away with 7 adults and 2 small children and had plenty of space. The harbor provided a nice protected area for our boat. It rained quite a bit, so it was great having a nice cabin to relax in when we couldn't be outside. We're already planning our trip back next year!
John and Lara were awesome to work with. Very accommodating. House is set up very well for a large group. Beautiful location, would love to come back in the summer. Would highly recommend to anyone. Thanks for a great experience. Everything we needed and then some. Owners had everything set up for us, brought in extra tables and chairs, high chairs for the small kids. Thanks for the great experience.
