About this property

Classic Lake Winnipesaukee Camp

This original 1940 New Hampshire camp is situated on the Lake Winnipesaukee facing west across the broads on Tuftonboro Neck. Built out of timbers felled during the hurricane of 1938 (thus my grandmother named it Hurricane Ledge), this property has a rustic, quaint feel. Enjoy swimming, canoeing, sitting on the water-side deck or porch enjoying breath-taking sunset views. The house has a wonderful views of the lake, particularly at sunset and Very quiet location; 15 minute drive to Wolfeboro, NH.

We rent by the week (Sunday to Sunday) , end of June, July, and August.

***We have an other rental property next door that sleeps 4. We LOVE to rent these properties together. Please inquiry for possible discounts. See link. SEE LISTING #7053124 'Cozy, Rustic Cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee in Lake Winnipesaukee'

Lake Getaway
We really enjoy our stay at thIs cabin! It is quiet, peaceful and great to be steps away from the lake. The owners are being especially attentive to cleaning procedures and we found everything very clean upon arrival. This is a wonderful spot and we highly recommend it for a getaway.

Great camp...
The cottage was great. It was outfitted with everything you needed to enjoy the beautiful lake. The camp was cozy and inviting with great outdoor porch and deck to view the sunsets.

I am an archaeologist living in Baltimore, Maryland with my husband (also an archaeologist) and our two young sons.

Why they chose this property

My grandmother purchased the land where our rental property is now in 1940 from a neighbor. There she built, often with her own two hands, one of the houses on the property with wood from trees felled during the 1938 hurricane that hit New England. She passed away in 2008, but the home remains a central feature of our family. I, my sister, and four cousins have been coming to 'the lake' for our entire lives and my aunt even lives down the road.
