Spacious, Well-Appointed Retreat in Beautiful Belmont Heights
This 1,300 square foot retreat overlooks the lovely grounds of a classic 1929 Spanish Revival home in the heart of beautiful Belmont Heights. Ideally located three palm-lined blocks away from the restaurants, shopping and bars of trendy 2nd Street in Belmont shore and six blocks from the beach, this delightful property is close enough to be walking distance from all the fun while far enough away to guarantee peace, quiet and plentiful parking, with easy access to freeways and all of Southern California.
Upon arriving at the property, you’ll feel the California/Beach vibe inherent in the neighborhood. As you make your way through the gate into the entry courtyard, you’ll get your first taste of the classic charm that awaits you. The lush landscaping, turreted entry and delightful fountain let you’re in for a special treat.
Your home is upstairs, on your own private floor. The arched windows in the generous barrel-vaulted living room overlook the many palms that line the street below. The space is airy and inviting, and features a large sectional, 46” flat-screen TV, comfy chair, and desk area. The adjacent formal dining room seats six in comfort, and off of it is your private balcony with bistro set, perfect for that morning cup of coffee.
The kitchen is great for those spending a little more time with us, as it features a full-sized refrigerator and range, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and complete dishware, cutlery and cooking paraphernalia. Or, if you’re not in the mood to cook, pick up something hot and tasty from the corner gourmet grocery just five doors down from the house, or drop into one of the more than 30 restaurants on 2nd street, three blocks away.
The bedroom is cozy and comfortable, featuring a king bed with 500 count sheets, a roomy closet and a second flat-screen TV with cable. The adjacent bath is comfortable and complete, with a tub/shower combination and a 48” vanity.
The shared garden/patio area is a place to enjoy the beautiful mild weather of Southern California. There's a waterfall and pond, firepit, and comfortable sitting areas. Nearby is a dining area seating six.
Best of all is the location of this little oasis--close to everything, but a haven of tranquility when you arrive home again. We look forward to welcoming you, and doing all we can to insure a fun and restful visit.
What a lovely and well-appointed living space. My husband and I, recently retired, had the pleasure of staying for 3 months in this beautiful apartment overlooking the palm trees and balmy climate in this quiet neighborhood. Dennis and Mark have supplied everything one could need for a beautiful vacation stay in sunny Long Beach. This place is located in the best neighborhood in town, walking distance to the sunny cafes and vibrant night life of 2nd St, and is very walkable to multiple water venues...the bay, beaches and canals of Belmont shore and Naples. In equipping this home, they were careful to maintain the original character and features of a classic Long Beach spanish style hacienda, but with all of the comfort and amenities of a modern home. The bedding was the most comfortable we've ever experienced, lots of closet space; the bathroom recently redone in clean white subway tile, spotlessly clean. The living and dining areas were huge...we were able to entertain and dine with our friends and relatives with ease...the sofa and seating areas easily accommodated 6-10 people for entertaining, but are furnished in a way that is cozy and easy to maintain for 2 people. An open window allowed in the soothing music of the fountain in the front courtyard, and the back yard area was full of lush California foliage and plants, with seating areas around water features and even a patio fire pit. There is a small cottage on the back of the property that always housed classy people with their friendly dog. (our upstairs unit was not suitable for pets). Dennis and Mark gave us lots of privacy, but were always a friendly presence when we interacted with them. We are reluctant to provide such rave reviews, as we would rather keep this place a secret, since we plan to return again and again for our winter escape from our east coast home. This rental unit is truly top notch! Very spacious, quiet, and meticulously decorated. A very pleasurable experience, with sitting areas in gardens in front and back, plus a balcony and walkable distances to the beach and boutique shopping/dining areas, this rental really does have it all.
We stayed in the back cottage 3 years ago and were disappointed that other travelers had found this little treasure, making it hard to book. We were delighted to find that the second floor of the main house was available for our latest trip and knew that Dennis would offer a comfortable accommodation. We were blown away! It was not only comfortable, but a special treat. Maybe I shouldn't be writing this because then it will also be hard to book.
We absolutely loved our stay! It was our first time in Long Beach and our hosts were very gracious and full of local info that made everything so much easier on us. The neighborhood is quiet and the home had everything we needed included delicious snacks and wine provided. We can't wait to book again.
We started using VRBO shortly after its inception so we've stayed in A LOT of homes. This one is one of the very best. You won't need anything because it's all there (but if you do there's a little Ma & Pa store down the street that has delicious prepared food and grocery items.) There was even a huge basket filled with snacks and two bottles of wine. Dennis and Mark have exquisite taste so it was beautifully appointed and the gardens are magical. From the big fluffy comforter to the luscious towels...the comfort of your stay is of utmost importance. The pictures don't do this beauty justice. I was surprised at just how big it is yet still intimate. Dennis and Mark are delightful and will make sure you're well taken care of. If this gem is available when you need it..seriously stop looking. You won't be disappointed.
