Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)
Q: How will I get the keys?
A: Once the booking is complete I will invite you to view and download an app about the apartment. In that app you’ll get info on how to find the keys and access the apartment.
Q: Is it near the subway?
A: We are across the river from midtown, but there is no subway access (yet). Instead, we commute by the super awesome “chicken buses” or private jitney buses, that run every 5 minutes, all day and all night. As in 24/7 access. The cost is $3 per trip and I’ll send you detailed info once you’ve booked.
Q: Do you have an elevator?
A: Nope. But I am happy to help you carry luggage up the stairs if needed, we can make arrangements. I promise it's not a big deal.
Q: Is the neighborhood safe?
A: Weehawken Heights is a very comfortable and easy place to be in. There are tons of families, professionals, apartments, private houses and the streets are well lit. You can walk home at any time of the night and not be bothered.
Q: Do I need to bring towels, a hair dryer, or linens?
A: Nope! I provide all these things. Same with basic toiletries such as soap, shampoo, hand soap
Q: Will I have a key? Can I come and go as I please?
A: Yes and yes. And I wouldn't trust any apartment with which this isn't the case.
Q: Can my friend sleep on the sofa?
A: I’m very particular about the guest count. You may only have the number of guests stay that you booked for. What if there is an emergency and we need to evacuate the building? Don’t you want me to know how many people are there? Please communicate with me if you have a last minute friend want to stay with you.
Q: What's my total booking price?
A: Owners see a different screen then guests. You’ll see the final price on the pre-approval, or you can check the final price yourself by entering your dates and the number of guests. The system will calculate the amount and show you the total (but it won’t show me the final total as I don’t see the service fee). figure should be present after you enter your dates.
Q: Does the apartment look the same as the photos?
A: Yes, the pictures were taken by a professional photographer. I may change around the linens or move some cushions around, but it looks like the pictures.

Great location. Perfect spot to get in and out of the city with ease and not have to deal with actually staying in the city. Neighborhood was great! Definitely will stay here again if i come to NY again.
The property is very comfortable with plenty of facilities and spacious. Good xecurity. Great location. Only one stop through the Lincoln tunnel to Times Square. Bus every 5 mins Good supermarket close by. Maria was extremely helpful and readily responded by email to any queries that we had
My Husband and I stayed at Maria's apartment for a week this past month. The apartment was spotless, comfortable and located in a great neighborhood. It really felt like "home". Maria was extremely helpful when we asked questions, she replied immediately and gave us some great tips! There are bus stops just a few short blocks from the apartment as well as groceries and coffee shops. We took the bus into the city every morning and back again in the evenings. The commute was quick and easy! I would highly recommend staying here!!
What a great experience we had in Union City, NJ! We booked with Maria from other reviews she had and all gave not only her property great reviews but SHE got great reviews for all the help she offered her renters. Maria was very helpful with how to get around Union City and in and out of NYC - clear directions and complete notes that were at the house. She provided her cell phone number and was available with any questions we had - responsive to both emails and texts quickly! This house was lovely, spacious and well stocked with everything we needed. Great location with easy access to local shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. We would use Maria and her properties again!!
Maria's apartment was great. Whatever you see in the pictures is what you get! The apartment is a good size for a small family. This was our first time in the East Coast and it really felt like we lived there.
We arrived hours before check-in time, but we contacted Maria and she said the place was ready early! We were so excited!
Maria provides a binder with a lot of information, like check out procedures, how to use the bus, nearby grocery stores, a park that's a 10-15min. walk where you can see the skyline, etc. So you won't feel like you don't know what to do!
The chicken bus is $3. They really do come every minute! From Weehawken, the bus dropped us off at the bus terminal. From there, we're able to walk or take the subway to wherever we are going. Only used taxis on few occasions. To go back, it's right in front of The New York Times building and drops us off at the stoplight at Park Ave.
Check out procedures are really easy! We had a early morning flight, so we left the apartment at around 4AM. There are Uber drivers at this time, or call a car service beforehand.
We stayed well at Maria's apartment, that is really nice (as it appears in the pictures) and completely furnished. The sistem of transport to New York is efficient and easy, expecially during the week end when there is less traffic, but you have to consider 3$ for person for each travel to pay cash (there isn't the possibility of a weekly tickets I think).
Maria was very kind and she let us find all the infos for transport, markets, luggage storage at our leaving, etc. in a white copy book an the kitchen table...very good organization!
