About Lachele Coninx-Wiley

We purchased in Gardiner because we love spending free time in at Minnewaska State Park and the Mohonk Preserve.

Lachele Coninx-Wiley purchased this apartment in 2012

Why Lachele Coninx-Wiley chose Hudson Valley

The main house is adjacent to the Sweet Suite, and was built in 1819. The garage and suite came along in 1999, and have all of the modern amenities, included central air!

What makes this apartment unique

Country life with easy access to college town with a plethora of restaurants, coffee shops, clothing, and unique gift stores. The Hudson Valley is great for musical entertainment, food festivals, and arts and crafts exhibits. There is always something to do! Also, any easy day trip to major ski areas: Bellayre, Hunter, and Wyndham mountains in the Catskills or the Town Tinker Tube Rentals in Phoenicia.

rural and beautiful

Oct 2016 This place was perfect for a couple visiting West point military academy, close to the school and smack dab in the middle of the Hudson Valley. The bed was perfect, our host left us some fruit and wine and the sweet suite was furnished comfortably.

Spotless, spacious, pretty.

  • 5 of 5

Very quiet. Conveniently located to hiking, and sight seeing. Lovely furnishing, towels, kitchen supplies, and bedding. Skylights make it feel light and airy. Exactly as shown in photos. Excellent internet. Communication with Lachelle was easy. This is a gem for 2 people who like to do some or all of their own meals, spread out, get a little work done (if necessary), read, and enjoy the ample floor space (yoga?).

Clean and comfortable

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was clean and comfortable. We didn't spend much time there but were happy to have a place to rest in the evenings. Lachelle was easy to communicate with and flexible.

This vacation rental was top notch. It will be a spot we return to every time we visit family in this area. It was comfy, cozy and spotless and we were really pleased with our selection of this property for our stay in the Hudson Valley area.

Premier rock climbing on the east coast is 8 miles from this location at the Mohonk Preserve, aka The Trapps, also known for x-c skiing, hiking, mountain biking and trail running. Experience the same with the added bonus of crystal clear spring fed lakes for a cardio pumping ride to the top and a cool swim at lake Awosting located in Minnewaska State Park, or take it easy with the tots at the lower lake, Minnewaska. Skydive the Ranch, in Gardiner, if you dare.

This location is also a great springboard for Hudson Valley day trips such as the Storm King Art Center, events at West Point Military Academy, a plethora of Hudson Valley farmers markets from which to choose, wine trails, restaurants, or tours of historic estates, or a pleasant stroll down Hugenot Street in New Paltz. Popping into the quaint shops in High Falls and Rosendale make for a wonderful rainy day adventure, or check out a movie at the Rosendale Theater or the Cinema in New Paltz. Yoga, in many disciplines, is all around us here and drop ins are usually welcome.

Artist galleries are open and welcome visitors on weekends and have organized tour dates, as well, including a gallery of masterful artitst Ron Schaefer, less than one mile from your perfect suite, and adjacent to the Tuthill House - an ideal spot in itself for libations, delicious meal and or a tour and tasting at the Tuthill House Distillery, renowned for Hudon Valley Baby Bourbon Whiskey.

A quick jaunt to New Paltz and you will find yourself having to choose from eclectic bistros (A Tavola, Main Street Bistro, The Hugenot), staples like awesome pizza (Jordan's, La Bella), Chinese, Thai, Indian, Japanese, Irish Pubs (Shea O'Briens, Murphy's), serious burritos (Mexi-Cali Blues, the Taco Shack), Seafood (Gadeletto's Seafood Market - dine in or order fresh catch to go), and everything in between - like cupcakes, fro-yo, Jamaican, Turkish, Greek, Italian.

Waterstreet Market, at the west end of Main Street in the village of New Paltz, is highly recommended as relaxing place to stroll, shop, and dine - secluded from car traffic but just off the rail trail- you will find here the Antique barn, two art galleries, a candy shop, cheese shop, several cafes, a tiny watering hole called Jar'd , and if you happen to be in town on a Monday evening, capture a sunset here and then stay for a free outdoor movie, picnic style!

The Walkill Valley Rail Trail connects the Town of Shawangunk (to the south of Gardiner), to Gardiner, New Paltz, Rosendale, and Kingston. It is several miles long and can be accessed in many places if you choose to leave a car in a parking area and bike ride, walk or run on this maintained, flat, pebbled/mulched surface. Perfect for all, and nature surrounds you.

There is much from which to choose,, any day can be a wonderful experience! We also take great measures to ensure you sleep soundly and wake rested to begin your next day's adventure.
