A Vermont Castings gas fireplace will take the chill off those cool Maine evenings.

There is a small deck behind 'The Barn'.

Incredible and unique apartment; lots of charm and everything you need.

Our 3 night stay in the Barn was perfect. The location is great - quiet, but accessible to restaurants on the quiet side and less than 25 minutes drive to Bar Harbor. Overall, we had an incredible visit.

Beautiful spot for a quiet getaway close to Acadia

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in The Barn - the space was perfect for two, with plenty of room, a terrific layout, very comfortable bed, and lots of little home-like touches. The kitchen was unusually well-equipped for a rental, and the location perfect for those seeking a quiet side stay with easy access to Acadia's trails and carriage roads. We were there very early in the season so most of the shops and restaurants in Southwest Harbor were closed, but we had a great dinner at Sips on our arrival evening and found plenty of places open in Bar Harbor on the other evenings. Susie was a warm and welcoming hostess, and we will definitely will have fond memories of celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary in this special spot!

Perfect!

The photos don’t do this property justice. It was perfect for me and my husband. We were close to everything, but not in it. Quiet, peaceful and well equipped!

Great spot on the water with all the amenities

  • 5 of 5

It was very easy from start to finish. Communication was quick and thorough regarding the stay. It was clean and obvious that the owners take pride in their home. Right on bass harbor, great view of the stars on clear nights. Definitely a worthwhile place to stay.

A quaint cottage with a view

  • 5 of 5

This was absolutely the most fabulous cottage we've stayed at. It is only about 25 minutes from Bar Harbor and far enough away from the crowds. This home is so comfortable for two people. The view of the harbor is spectacular. The homeowner is a sweet lady that lives on site and is always available if you need anything. We didn't need anything, because the cottage was stocked with anything you would need. There is a ceiling fan in the middle of the cabin, but it would have been nice to have a box fan for the bedroom side. It was a little warm when we first went to bed, but was nice and cool by morning. She does not supply coffee or shampoo, so bring your own. I hope to be able to get in again next year.
