As a native North Carolinian, it has always been a dream of mine to own a home in the High Country of NC. While attending college at East Carolina University I was on the tennis team and in the outdoor club. I often found myself backpacking, climbing and exploring in and exploring around the Linville area. When I discovered The Loop Chalet (TLC) and Linville Land Harbor, I knew I had found the perfect moutain getaway. Paddling, swimming, golf, tennis, cycling, climbing, hiking are all available within minutes of the TLC. There is something for everyone no matter your age or interest.
My career has taken me to more metropolitan areas in our state so until I can call the TLC my permanent residence it is my pleasure to share my home away from home with you. I invite you to visit the TLC, play, relax and come back. Your adventure starts at my doorstep. Alison

Whatever season you choose has its special beauty. Springtime brings its new promise of blossoms and green. Summertime at 4,000 feet elevation gives wonderful mountain breezes and the exquisite profusion of white and pink rhododendron. Autumn brings the fall colors to the Blue Ridge mountains and winter brings the pristine quiet snow and skiing/snowboarding at Sugar or Beech Mountain close by.

Amazing cabin and location ! It was a very clean and updated with plenty of space. The owner is a delight to work with and we will definitely recommend this cabin to friends !!
Our family had a great time at this home. It was comfortable for two adults and two young children and had everything we needed during our stay at an affordable price. Close to ski slopes, Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock and all of the high country attractions. There are also a lot of resources within the planned community including a lake, pool and hiking trails. We plan to come back again!
The Loop Chalet was in a quiet setting but convenient as we were able to walk to pool or beach area. The house was comfortable for 5 adults.
We were delighted with the home. It was comfortable, light and spacious with all the necessary equipment. It was clean and well maintained with all appliances in good working order. The Land Harbor community was a treat with an excellent golf course, good walking trails, pool, club house and tennis courts. Although we didn't use the lake the fishing and canoeing were activities we would consider next time. Our excursions included Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk and Boone all nearby and fun to see. There were no lack of decent places to eat and shop within easy reach. We expect to return and would recommend the home and its environs to friends and family.
This is the second time that we have rented this chalet. We love it and plan to come back again!
We stayed a week here in July and loved it. The neighborhood is huge!! this house is located near the front of the neighborhood and is within walking distance to the community pool. We enjoyed using the pool pass most days to let our 5 and 2 year old swim. There are free paddle boats you can rent, as well as a playset next to the pool and a nice beach area to play on (but not able to swim in the lake). We were confused on the requirements for fishing permits in the community. we would have appreciated more information about this. Given the great amenities of land harbor, I feel like the advertisement for this property should have highlighted them a little better since this was really a great community. One master bedroom downstairs as described. Two bedrooms upstairs. It was advertised with a queen bed upstairs, but my husband and I both felt like it was actually a double and not a queen. I'm 5'10'' and my feet hung off the end of the bed. My husband and I stayed upstairs so we could be close to the kids while my parents stayed downstairs. There are instructions on how to use the TV but I wish there were instructions on how to operate the built in AC type unit on the balcony. There is no central air conditioning. It did get a bit warm during the day and we found that we needed to run the units and fans as cold as they could during the day to get the upstairs cool enough. (I didn't trust my 2 year old enough to leave the balcony doors open). It was wonderful having a true laundry room with washer and dryer. The kitchen was the most equipped kitchen out of any of the prior vrbo places we've stayed. The houses in this community are close together, but this house is situated in a way that you feel pretty secluded. We visited Tweetsie railroad, Grandfather mountain, and Grandfather trout farm during our stay. Overall, we had a great time!!
Enjoy the local attractions such as Grandfather mountain, Linville Falls and Caverns all within a close distance to the Chalet.
Or enjoy the on site gorgeous mountain Golf Course on site has 18 holes and over 5,153 yards with a par of 69. Enjoy our swimming pool during the warm summer months. Please inquire about the tennis facilities.
You can go fishing in our 48 acre trout-stocked lake or fly fish in the pristine river.
Multiple hiking trails within walking distance from the chalet around the lake or along the river with its tiny waterfalls or go hiking around Grandfather mountain and Linville Gorge, visiting Linville Falls and Caverns and driving along the spectacular Blue Ridge Parkway will all add to your very memorable experience.
Being close to Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk gives many choices of shopping & restaurants. Blowing rock has a charming downstairs with Tangier Factory outlets.
The opportunities for hikers of all levels are too numerous to mention. With the Blue Ridge parkway and the Appalachian trail nearby you will have many choices.
There are also wonderful on site fishing spots and mountain bike trails just around the corner.
Be sure to bring a daypack, your binoculars, and camera, and get ready for a wonderful getaway at The Loop Chalet(TLC).
