Lovely garden apartment on exclusive Malibu Road beach. There is a short stairway to the beach from the door of your apartment. At high tide, the waves lap right under your balcony. At low tide, the beach stretches for miles. There are 3 sea kayaks and multiple boogey boards stored underneath the bldg and two bicycles. Cycle the 2 miles down quiet Malibu Road to shops, restaurants, art classes, yoga classes, bookstore, Starbucks and movie theater in the center of Malibu. Take surfing lessons at Surfrider Beach, hike the trails in the adjacent Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and body surf at Zuma Beach. Enjoy the long walks at sunset on the beach and enjoy the ocean views from your private deck.
King-size bed in bedroom, additional queen-size bed in ocean alcove. Living area has TV, DVD, high speed internet and working fireplace. Garage accommodates one car inside and one out. Full bath, kitchen and beach shower. Linens, towels, beach chairs, beach towels and umbrellas. Limited to four persons.
We were delighted to find this lovely condo so beautifully decorated with amazing views of the water from the front windows and deck which at times are actually over the water at high tide! The sounds of the ocean are mesmerizing and so relaxing! The bed was quite comfortable, the entire apartment was nice and clean and the kitchen appliances worked beautifully. We loved the openness of the condo where you can be fixing dinner and still visiting with each other and admiring the beautiful views. We saw schools of dolphins swim by every day and enjoyed the beach chairs and other amenities provided by the hosts. Plenty of linens and the sofa was so comfortable for relaxing and watching a movie with the fireplace taking off the chill after a beautiful sunset over the ocean. I can't imagine finding a more comfortable and affordable place to spend your time in the Los Angeles area! We enjoyed brunch at the Malibu Farm on the pier and dinner at Geoffreys, pricey but lovely! And the Getty Villa is not to be missed!
Just spent a great week here.
Massive benefit being on Malibu Rd, than any of the Highway 1 properties.
Well equipped. Used the bikes to cycle to the beach each day.
Place exactly as per the property info.
If I come back to Malibu will defo try to stay here again.
We have been renting here for 7 years, so it has, truly, become our home away from home. We have rented two other locations on the beach in that time, because "our" place was already rented and neither came anywhere close to feeling like home - either too small or not clean or just not comfortable. We are a family of 3, but it easily sleeps 4... 5 if you count the number of times I have fallen asleep on the couch to the waves. :)
Liza and David's rental has everything you need - from a great beach, to cozy furnishings, towels, chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, bikes, kayaks, wetsuits and a GREAT location with a market, awesome restaurants, beautiful hiking spots all right there. It is always clean. The kitchen has every possible thing you could need, so you can stay right where you are. We have come to know the neighbors, all who are so very friendly. Liza and David are also great. They are quick to respond and not at all intrusive, which is not the case with some rentals.
We often do not leave once we arrive. We melt in to the waves and daily beach walks. My daughter is now turning 11 and she becomes a different kid within hours. Although there is great Wifi, TV and a DVD player, none of us tend to pick up a remote or open our computers. We will play lots of games, which are there for you - cards, checkers, Mancala, chess - but mostly we just reconnect and decompress. We just arrived home after our latest trip and we were so very sad to leave.
For those that have to work, I can tell you that we have rented when work was impossible to get away from and it doesn't get much better than working with the sound of the waves, dolphins and that view out your window.
I rented this property in May of this year for a week and then I just rented it for a second week this year because I couldn't wait to get back. I decided on a non-traditional Christmas this year so I couldn't think of a better place to spend it than on the beaches of Malibu. This property is perfect in every way. The energy you receive from being right on the water is very refreshing to the soul. It is a gift to have the privilege to stay here as it is perfect in every way. The apartment has everything you could need and more. The tenants that live in the other units are nice and welcoming...and the view...I can't say enough about it. If I could uplift my city life in Chicago and move anywhere, it would be to this little slice of heaven in Malibu. I am so appreciative Liza and David rent this out and share it with others to experience. I can't wait to get back. As long as they rent it, I will make it a place to visit as long as I can. The surrounding area has great shops and restaurants and a grocery store so you can cook at home if you want to stay in and not go out to eat. I opted for a little of both but I prefer just staying at this cozy apartment...when you are there it is fleeting as all good things come to an end. I had a couple of friends that live in the LA area and friends that go to California for vacations so they stopped by for a visit and were blown away...they can't wait to rent the place!
We had the perfect stay at this cosy place. It was really a home away from home (with better view). We saw lots of dolfins and seals and spent hours on the balcony every day. The place is good maintained, everything is working well. Linens and towels are very clean and in a good condition (very important for me, to feel good). Nice shops and restaurants are close by. We will come back, for sure.
We had arrived for the last part of our adventure from our round trip from L.A. to Vegas, Hoover Dam,Grand Canyon, 6 Flags and back to L.A. so after much travelling we were in need of some 'down-time'. This apartment had it all. Sometimes when you arrive at a location, the reality isn't quite like the photos. On this occasion we were taken aback at how perfect it was! The owners had even made sure we had all the instructions on where everything was and how things worked. It was such a relaxing experience, with a view which was just breath-taking and one which i could never tire of. Our kids also, (for the first time) engaged in a game of Scrabble, which is pretty amazing considering they're usually glued to their tablets, phones etc!
Once again, thanks for such a wonderful apartment with the perfect location. We would love to come back sometime, hopefully sooner rather than later!
