We think you will find Three Palms to be a great mixture of comfort and elegance for short or long term stays in beautiful Edenton.
Almost everything to see and do in Edenton is within a short walk.
Our family enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving stay at Three Palms. The house is indeed beautiful, with lovely period furnishings and architectural details. The updated kitchen is well equipped and spacious- a great place to prepare a holiday meal! The beds, couches and chairs were all very comfortable. David and Michael were clear and prompt in all communications.
We would highly recommend a stay at Three Palms and a visit to lovely Edenton to all.
Three Palms was a beautiful property with plenty of space. It was a perfect spot for a vacation and situated in a cute town with a special history of its own. It was great to have the use of a fully-equipped home and not be limited to a hotel. The property was clean and well-maintained and the owner was prompt in answering questions as we approached our stay. I would recommend Three Palms to others. Restaurant selections in the city were disappointing, with only one of the three that we went to being very good - The Table at Inner Banks.
The home was beautiful. The furnishing were exquisite! Some of the renovations were not complete and you could easily tell after you spent some time in the home. The home is not set up for a family of six. We had trouble trying to all sit in the living room since it only had two wing chairs and a small sofa. It also isn't the best home for children. We were constantly watching to be certain they were not getting too close to the beautiful accent pieces around the rooms. It would be a perfect home for a couple to visit or ever two couples.
What I was most surprised about was the food in the refrigerator that was open and appeared to be left from other visitors to the home. The pantry was also full of opened food. We had to rearrange the food in order to put our items in the refrigerator, freezer, and pantry.
There was also an army of ants in the kitchen. As our experience in the past has been, the home has always been ready for occupancy by the renter. They were on the floor, the counter top, and on the island. The neighborhood was not what I expected. Beyond the home, the surrounding neighborhood appeared to be questionable.
The town of Edenton should not be missed by anyone that travels even remotely close by. It is the friendliest town I have visited in many years. It still rolls up on Sundays and observes the Blue Laws that most towns have done away with. We celebrated the 4th of July with the town people and enjoyed their festival that was set up. The Outer Banks is an hour or so away and we enjoyed a day there also.
David Stevenson, one of the owners, could not have done more to help us enjoy our stay. I must have called him three times or more and he was very helpful each time. If you want a place to get away to and enjoy stepping back in time, Edenton, NC is for you.
The photos will give you a sampling of the beauty of this home. The period décor with updated features is awe-inspiring and is like a page out of Southern Living magazine. Upstairs, a large master bedroom with a canopied king bed, master bath with a claw foot slipper tub (sweet) and tile/glass shower. The second bedroom with canopied queen bed and the third with two twins. All beautifully decorated. The main floor, foyer, half bath large living room, dining room with open fire place to both rooms. A large, fully equipped, beautiful kitchen with ample seating and space. The home has hardwood floors throughout with area rugs in the main rooms. Lots of little extra touches to appreciate. A short walk to the bay and the historic downtown area with shops, restaurants, trolley ride (highly recommended) and the lighthouse. Edenton is home to approximately 5,000 residents and a lovely town. We also included some beach time in our stay. The Outer Banks is a scenic one hour and a half drive from Edenton. Pack a cooler, beach chair, towel and a book, head over to the beaches for several hours, have lunch and return for a quiet evening. I'm ready to go back! I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.
The family and I found the home perfect for our stay and everything as written. We were able to walk to the center of town and appreciate the
great sites and history. Home was charming and we enjoyed the how tastefully decorated and welcoming the home was. Maureen
Although the house is old it has been totally renovated with all the modern amenities (wifi, tv's, modern baths, and updated kitchen). The interior decorating is exquisite. Four of us stayed for 3 days and we all found the beds clean and quite comfortable. If you are looking for a central location to stay while visiting Edenton or the surrounding area I would recommend this property.
You will find many national and local historical sites within a block of Three Palms.
