Highlights of the area include the many wineries around Seneca Lake, Watkins Glen International race track, and many festivals and events that take place throughout the year.
When I was growing up my parents took us to Watkins Glen and we hiked through the gorge. I really enjoyed the waterfalls. Many years later my husband and I came back to celebrate a wedding anniversary. We walked through the gorge and it was as beautiful as I remembered it. After the gorge we stopped at Lakewood Vineyards and had our first ever wine tasting. That was about 15 years ago and we have been coming back ever since. We are always finding something new to do in the area. There are so many festivals and events that there are some we are still trying to find the time to attend.

What we enjoy about the property we have is the location. We are not in the center of town but rather just on the edge of town. We have a lake and harbor view and are close enough to town to walk to restaurants and town events.
Very comfortable accommodation in a beautiful part of the world. Highly recommend.
Late July was Girls Weekend in Watkins Glenn for five of us. We had a wonderful time and everyone LOVED the house.
The bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen was large, and the lake view from the front porch was terrific. This is a charming house with lots of character and we really enjoyed our stay. The house has one bathroom but that was not an issue--even with 5 people staying.
The home is on a main road in and out of Watkins Glen, so we were worried about traffic noise at night--but night-time was very quiet and we didn't hear jake brakes or any other traffic noise. Dawn, the owner, was very responsive anytime I had a question and even made it possible for us to get into the house a few hours early. We look forward to these annual weekends and this house really added to our enjoyment of Watkins Glen. Thank you Dawn for being so easy to work with. I'd recommend this property to anyone looking for a great rental location in Watkins Glen.

We had a great experience. When we arrived the trash was over flowing on the curb and the owner got that taken care of quickly. There were plenty of towels and wash clothes. If you wanted to cook they had all the utensils that you needed. You could easily walk to town to go to the restaurants, shops, and bars. Also it was close to a Tiki bar and wineries. The view was also great from the porch! I would recommend this house to anyone.
We all really enjoyed our stay in Watkins Glen in this house. We mostly enjoyed the front porch, which is actually where we spent most of our time. Everything was very clean and organized. Thanks for everything!
The house was great just what we needed. thanks so much.
This property is a fantastic accommodation in Watkins Glen. For us it was centrally located to all the activities we were involved in. It is so charming yet very modernized and updated. Kitchen is beautiful. Sitting on the front porch with the view to Seneca Lake with a glass of wine or a good book was magnificent. Dawn is very client-based and provided not only timely information but great customer service. We would absolutely recommend this property to family and friends, and hope ourselves to get back there.
One of the activities we hoped to do was hike at Watkins Glen State Park. Unfortunately only the rim trail was open. The gorge trail doesn't open until Memorial Day. There are lots and lots of wineries on both sides of Seneca Lake. There is a fabulous Science and History Museum in Ithaca, as well as the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning,
Property is located at the southern end of Seneca Lake within walking distance of town with shops, restaurants and bars, theater, bank, post office, parks, harbor, marina, churches and Catharine Valley Trail. Nearest grocery store is within a mile.
Drive the short distance to Watkins Glen State Park lower entrance to hike through the gorge with its many beautiful waterfalls. The more energetic may want to add to the hike by walking the few blocks from the house to the park entrance. Drive to the upper entrance to swim in the Olympic sized swimming pool.
There is lake swimming at Clute Park, Watkins Glen or Smith Memorial Park, Hector.
Visit the many wineries in the area for tastings and make stops along the cheese trail.
Watch fireworks from the front porch over July 4th and during the Italian Festival. Race fans will enjoy Watkins Glen International race track.
Short trips from the house can include Corning Glass Museum or Arnot Mall. For those who enjoy the waterfall and hiking be sure to plan side trips to other state parks in the area including Taughannock Falls, Buttermilk Falls and Letchworth State Park.
