Kevin and Deb have lived in Gold Beach for over 60 years and raised 3 children here. They own a local company and have enjoyed sharing their home with guests coming to the Oregon Coast.
Deb & Kevin purchased this house in 2014
Kevin and Deb previously owned Surfside Vacation Rental and wanted to build a new custom home for guests to enjoy. They felt like most vacation rentals in the area had great views, but lacked the new amenities and clean new feel.
You will not find a property like this one in the Gold Beach area. Old growth Monterey cypress and Shore Pine trees with a flat, 1 acre grassy lawn. Our home sits 50 feet above the surf, with a private trail to the beach.
My fiancé and I had a wonderful vacation. The owners thought of every need you may have.
I highly recommend this beautiful beach house. I would LOVE to stay for a full month during the holidays.
Thank you , for being such gracious host.

Two of us stayed at the house for 10 days. We have rented at a numbered of houses in the area over the last 9 years. This was by far the most handsome, elegant and well designed house that we have ever rented. The balcony has terrific views of the ocean, the outdoor furniture is the most comfortable we've had. The sliding glass doors are wonderfully oversized so the views are still prominent while inside. We both found the mattress in the master bedroom very comfortable, as were all the bedding and linens. Clearly a lot of thought about design and comfort went into creating this house. I work in high-end construction and my spouse has an architecture degree--both of us found that having a really beautifully designed house added to the enjoyment of our vacation. While we were there we had a couple of requests and found the owners very responsive.
I want to second a previous reviewer who said the house did not have beach access. There is a well-constructed stairway which ends about 20 vertical feet above the beach. This last section has about a 20 to 25 degree slope of sand and wet sand/mud. I did part of it and found it too uncomfortable to do once round trip let alone a number of times a day--and the bit I did created more erosion. I am not at all infirm--twice a week I hike a 9 mile trail that starts at 9400' and summits at 12,700'. Walking down a steep slope of sand is very different than that same slope on rock or dirt. Maybe this is manageable for people who are used to steep sand. That said, real beach access is close, about 3/4 of a mile down the road--a ten to fifteen minute walk or 2 minute drive.
The views from the house of the pacific ocean were beautiful. The house was pristine and quiet with everything that we needed. I was only there for a few days and did not have time to use it but there is a wonderful little fire pit with firewood in the back of the house that was calling my name. The interior had nice, clean, modern appliances that looked new, a very pretty bath, wood floors throughout. The house looks like it has been remodeled recently. Debra sent us an inquiry while we were there to make sure that everything was good and gave us some good restuarant recommendations.
We did a lot of hiking and went on a morning kayak trip at Fort Orford. I would highly recommend the wildlife kayak trip with South Coast Tours. We saw wonderful starfish, sea urchins, whales, birds and sea lions all along rocky cliffs with caves and arches. The owner of the tour company was our guide. Very knowledgable and respectful of the wildlife. He took pictures all along the trip and provided them to us, along with a video, at no extra charge.
Seabreeze is a wonderful place. Great views and sounds of the surf. Good location, too. I enjoyed my visit.
My family and I spent 5 days at this wonderful place. Wonderful sunsets every night from the deck and from benches near the bluff overlooking the beach. Great beach access just down the street, lots of drift wood along the beach and great place for long walks on beach. House had all the comforts of home and was well supplied. Would stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay at Seabreeze. It's a lovely home with a GORGEOUS ocean view. The owner, Deb, is very helpful and responsive, which we appreciated. The kids loved the huge yard to run around in, and they've clearly put a lot of details into making it a special place. The four stars instead of five reflects that I'm a bit of a picky person. The first thing that we noticed when we arrived near sunset was the gorgeous view that was obstructed by a terrible window cleaning job, so I found some vinegar, water and a clean cloth and cleaned the windows myself so we weren't looking at the the ocean through heavily water spotted windows. It seems when you have a place that highlights an ocean view, take care to find a cleaner who does their due diligence with windows. Also, a heads up that the stairs that look like they take you to the beach do not. They end and it actually takes a bit of skill beyond there to get down the beach if you wanted to. We have two young kids and therefore didn't even try it. That was a bit of a disappointment as we had believed that we would have easy beach access. The water for showers was mostly luke warm. And, beware that the grill is a mini grill, and the coffee pot is a Keurig. Other than that - most things were great and if you are okay with these others things - you should stay here! It's a really new, nice place with a gorgeous view, friendly helpful owners and an awesome yard for young kids. We also loved the fire pit. We had a fire and smores almost every night.
