Guestbook comments from the manager

Had a beautiful family vacation at Steve and Cathy's lodge! Our family now numbers about 20, so it's hard to find a place to all be together with enough room to not all be together! We loved the wraparound porch, and all the neat spots for enjoying quiet morning coffee, as well as room for meeting in comfort and making connections all together. Steve and Cathy were right there to meet our every need, and we even had them over to eat dessert with us! Such a scenic spot to take our annual family pictures, too. Adults could go out to see the nearby sites whenever, but one of our grandchildren submitted the best review. When asked if she wanted to go see such and such, she replied she just wanted to stay here! We liked the stunning scenery in the state park, but it was good to always come "home" to this lovely place.

Five stars for this one! Thanks!

Mesa Vista Lodge is an Absolutely Fabulous Property

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking to get away with family and friends and enjoy beautiful views, peaceful surroundings, unbelievable amenities in an amazing home...this is the property for you. This lodge is spotless and loaded with everything you can think of to make your stay seamless and enjoyable. As you step inside from the beautiful wrap around porch you're greeted by vaulted ceilings and a beautiful floor to ceiling stone fireplace. The kitchen and living space is comfortable and inviting. We had three generations together for a weekend graduation celebration and everyone had a ball. Whether you want to entertain on the porch, put together a volleyball challenge, foose ball game or pick from a stack of board games OR hangout by the fire pit after a walk down to the pond while you throw food on the grill, you won't be disappointed. Our only regret is we didn't get to stay longer. And the best part, the management is onsite and ready to help you make your stay as perfect as possible. Steve and Cathy helped recommend some local attractions, answered questions and even shared the history of Mesa Vista Lodge with us one morning. They are so accommodating and easy to work with. We will be back!

Beautiful, clean and very welcoming!

The property is amazing! The grounds are expansive and trails maintained. There is a Lake/dock and a huge fire pit! The wrap around porch is so inviting and a great way to welcome a new day or to watch the sun set. We will go back!

perfect for our family reunion

  • 5 of 5

Well maintained with very attentive owners. Nice wildlife on the property. Internet was in and out, which was only complaint, so you'll want to plan your whole stay prior to coming.

A beautiful lodge on private, spacious grounds

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful lodge was a perfect secluded place for our family of seventeen to gather for a reunion -- coming from Pa., Illinois, and Germany. Our ages ranged from two years to 68 years, and the lodge accommodated all of us quite well. The wide porch that wraps around three sides of the lodge was such a peaceful place to relax, play games, and enjoy the quiet where the only sounds we heard were those of nature. We appreciated the kitchen and dining set-up with the large island where we served our meals buffet style and with the small side table where some of the kids took turns having their own dining space. The lodge grounds are spacious and allow lots of room for kids to run, play games, and explore. The stone table and fire pit in the back yard were perfect for evening s'mores. The one day we all went to Ash Cave, and would highly recommend seeing this amazing place. If we would have had more time, we would have loved to explore more of the parks in the area. Cathy was very responsive in all our communications as we planned the details of our stay --- answered all our inquiries and accommodated some changes along the way. We all loved this place and went home with wonderful memories of our time together.

Highly Recommend

  • 5 of 5

We rented the Mesa Vista Lodge this past weekend and had a wonderful experience. The owners were excellent people to work with, and the house was just amazing. Cathy quickly responded to every email leading up to the stay, and was available during our stay. It helped that we had beautiful weather, but we would have enjoyed our stay even if it had rained all weekend. The house was very accommodating for our large party - plenty of private bedrooms and sleeping spaces. The outdoor property was well maintained and inviting. We spent most of our time on the huge porch which nearly surrounds the house. When we return to Hocking Hills, we will definitely rent this home again.

Beyond our expectations

  • 5 of 5

Even the beautiful photo's do not capture the magic of this getaway. So spacious, immaculate, beautiful surroundings indoors and outdoors. Like having your own private park to wander in. Our family of 12 enjoyed volleyball, water fights, the enormous fire pit, the hot tub, corn hole tournaments, love & laughter. Cathy & Steve are great hosts!
