We have loved vacationing at Norris Lake since 2009. We started dreaming about owning our own piece of land since our first trip. We are very family oriented and were drawn to the private coves, wonderful restaurants and marinas, privately owned homes, the laid-back lifestyle, and the clear water.
Elizabeth Warthman purchased this cabin in 2013
This property offered a wooded lot perfect for the log cabin we envisioned. It is sloped, but not too steep. The boat traffic on the East end of the lake is much less than on the West end. Our dock has access to water year round.
We are situated in Lone Mountain Shores subdivision. The subdivision offers seclusion, but also well maintained roads and two private ramps. We are close to one of the best golf courses and steakhouses on the lake, Woodlake Gold Club. If you go, call ahead for reservations!
Very highly recommended! We spent 4 nights at this cabin over New Year's with 6 adults and 6 young children with plenty of room for everyone. Cabin was absolutely stunning with all the amenities that you can possibly need. Interior was warm and welcoming - it just made us all feel at home and not at a rental. The outside dual level patio was gorgeous - overlooking the lake with plenty of room for adults and kids. Rooms were very tastefully arranged and decorated while the kitchen was nicely stocked. Beth (the Owner) was very pleasant to work with and Kara (the local caretaker) was absolutely awesome. Everything was top notch and our party could not be happier with the stay. We would love to come back next New Years’!!! Thank you Beth and Kara for your truly Southern hospitality!
We had a great experience at this Cabin. It's well kept and nice all around. We were a group of 17 and we felt very comfortable. It was what we expected and more, everyone love it. Thanks!!!
Everything about my stay at this lake house exceeded my expectations. I am totally sold on Turtle Hill Cabin and will stay again!!
The cabin is located on a beautiful mountain with wonderful views. It was spacious and clean when we arrived. There is a corner for everyone. We had a party of 11 (6 adults, 4 teens and 1 preteen). It is located 2-3 hours from the tourist areas (Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Chattanooga, etc) but for the space you get, we didn't mind making the drive. It's equipped with enough to keep you entertained. We played games, we grilled, we sat on the long deck, walked down to the boat ramp, swung on the swing on the lower deck, etc. This was the 1st cabin stay for most of the group. The cabin is located off of winding roads that have steep climbs and low downward streets. It's completely dark as well only your cars lights. We spotted lots of deer which was nice and we stayed during autumn so the leaves all around were absolutely beautiful. The pictures don't do the kitchen/dining area justice. It's way more space then the picture makes it look like. The cabin has well water but it was not stinky. A few did end up taking cold showers at times but with a group of 11, you have to give it time. We would definitely recommend the cabin to large families. It was comfortable for our group but there was space to get more in there if you used air mattresses downstairs. All 5 kids slept in the bunk bed room, they each had their own bed. But you could definitely double up on the bottom bunks and the extra queen that's in there. The other room downstairs with the queen had 1 couple and the main floor king had 1 couple. The two rooms upstairs had a single person each but you could also double up there as well. Enough room to do activities together or separately. The microwave died out on our 2nd day. I left a voice mail and sent an email and they had a new 1 installed before we returned to the cabin that evening. Our only suggestions or things that were mentioned that could be added to enhance the property would be: fireplace, jacuzzi, fire pit for making smores, mirrors in bedrooms over dressers/1 full length mirror somewhere in the cabin. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals although we didn't really cook much. We handwashed so not sure if the dishwasher worked but all other appliances did. Cell service didn't work until we were at the front of the Subdivision (20-30 min ride depending on how brave you are) and WiFi did pretty well. We'd recommend to anyone, awesome experience and accomodations.
We traveled to the Turtle Hill Cabin with a group of 7 and had an amazing time. The cabin is beautiful and provided plenty to do. The lake was great perfect for wakeboarding, tubing and swimming.
The house was very clean and neat. The kitchen was larger than it appeared in the pictures so that was an added plus since we had four families. We had plenty of space without feeling on top of each other. Loved the set up in the basement for the kids' room. All the cousins had a blast sleeping in the same room. Everything was very nice and we had a great time. I would encourage you to get your groceries before you arrive because the grocery store takes a little time to get to.
I had a lot of questions and Elizabeth always responded to answer them quickly. The only thing I would encourage is for them to put a bit of fencing on the bottom level deck beside the stairway down to the boat dock - Our kids are little so we had to be careful to watch them around it so they would not fall through.
We rented a boat for three of the days and had lunch one day at Bubba Brews at the Marina. The food was good and the service was excellent! We all loved this vacation and would recommend this home. You won't be disappointed!
