Overview

About the property

4 Bedroom / 2 Bath ('WEST' side of our side-by-side Duplex)

OCEANFRONT HOUSE with HEATED POOL, AMAZING VIEWS & BEST LOCATION!!!

• LARGEST PRIVATE POOL on EMERALD ISLE!!!

Pool measures 44' long x 16' wide. The Pool design has wide, shallow steps/entranceway at both ends which makes it great for children and the elderly. It is 4 feet deep. It also has a floating rope that divides the pool down the middle so that you have your own side for privacy. Our Concrete decking (surrounding the pool) is cool on the feet (unlike TREX Decking that other houses use which is hot).

• NO CHARGE for POOL HEATING: in May/June and Sept/Oct when heat is needed (Saves you over $550!

…because MOST houses in Emerald Isle charge $550 to $600 ‘additional’ for Pool Heating!!! We don’t!!!)

(Pool Heater operable only when the air temperature is above 60 degrees...so the month of April is very

iffy if the pool will be warm enough for swimming. That is why our ‘APRIL’ RATES are comparable to homes 'without' a pool). Pool heating is not at all necessary for the months of July/Aug.

If that is important to you, then this would not be the right house for you. Our house is just as you see in the photos. We focus our expenditures on providing an AMAZING POOL with a clean comfortable interior, clean comfortable beds, fresh linens and a nicely-stocked kitchen …all at a very competitive price. About Don

Our family has been spending summer vacations on the East Coast since the very early 1900's when our Great Grandfather took my Grandfather as a boy down to the barrier Islands off the Eastern seaboard. Sadly, as much as all the older generations LOVED the shore, they were never able to afford to buy a house there. My Grandfather had the opportunity to 'buy' a lot on an Island for $200 in the early 1900's, but in his own words; 'that was too much money' back then...he couldn't afford it...he grew up in the great depression. We need to remind ourselves that we are a very blessed generation to have been able to finally buy a Beach House. It still took a lot of sacrifices and it is not easy, but we know it brings a lot of joy to a lot of people...not just us. We have a young 'special-needs' boy, and there is no greater feeling than watching his face when he is at the Beach! We are sure this will bring many fond memories to your Children... if you can simply put down the cell phone, computer and remote while you are here and just enjoy being with your family at the Ocean!

Don purchased this house in 2001

Why Don chose Coastal North Carolina

Our Father decided that since he was just a few more years away from being about to retire that he wanted to buy a house on the NC Coast and retire there. He visited the entire NC coast looking at real estate and he apparently fell in love with Emerald Isle because he singled it out and focused on the market there. Sadly, two weeks later after making his last trip there, he passed away...at the young age of 54.

In 2003, after years of just talking about it, I said to my brother 'Let's finally go buy a Beach House together, on the NC Coast'. My brother informed me that he was getting married and therefore couldn't afford it. So I started taking trips to every Island and every town up and down the NC Coast. Upon doing so, there was no question that Emerald Isle was by far the prettiest Island in my opinion. It's natural beauty is everywhere you look. It has pristine beaches with very clean, warm water. The Ocean is shallow and great for children. The architecture on the Island is a mix of Sandcastles and small cottages. There is maritime forest with old curvy tall Live Oak tree's. There is fine dining, miles of bike paths, a wide beautiful Sound for boating and so much more.

What makes this house unique

Clean, warm, shallow Ocean water with expansive, pristine white sandy Beaches!!! Pure Nature at it's best!

The Island runs East to West allowing views of both the sunrises and sunsets.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our week here is ending and I am sorry to leave. This was exactly what we needed this year. I was awake every morning to watch the sunrise. Some mornings I watched from bed. Some I went out and took pictures. Overall a great vacation. Loved sleeping to the sound of the waves.

Classic beach house with an Amazing Pool and Great Views!

  • 5 of 5

This house has been beautifully decorated in calming beachy colors and was very clean. The pool was simply AMAZING…everything about it...it is very large, very new, well-maintained, crystal clear water, a nice strong breeze off the Ocean day and night. The pretty pool lights at night make for a very peaceful, romantic view. We couldn’t believe all the stars we can see at night from the Oceanfront decks! And the moonlight reflecting over the glistening ocean was just so wonderful. We spent most of the time in the pool, on the Beach or on the decks…coffee in the morning and red wine in the evening while listening to the waves. The concrete deck was so cool on the children’s feet (unlike other decks where we stayed!). Again, we can’t speak highly enough about the Pool! The house was inviting and the beds were comfortable. The rooms were large enough to comfortably accommodate our 4 young children and 4 adults on our stay. The kitchen met our needs for making all of our meals during our stay. The owner told us this was an older home but has an amazing new pool and so we weren’t expecting a new, perfect home but we were pleasantly surprised. If you are looking for a great value with an Amazing Pool…this can’t be beat! We plan to return.

Exactly as described and more

  • 5 of 5

Property was exactly as described--nothing particularly fancy regarding amenities except the pool which is fantastic. We found everything to be functional and clean and the location simply cannot be beat. You are literally 75 yards from the back door to the water's edge--which includes waking past the pool. Also very close to a small shopping plaza with a grocery store, fantastic pizza, hardware / bait & tackle store, and state liquor store. There is additional fine(r) dining within a 5 minute drive and wave runner / parasailing within 25 minutes in Atlantic Beach. This is a classic no-frills East Coast beach house that is comfortable without being flashy. We could not have been happier to have this as our base of operations for the week as again we were steps from the ocean. They have wisely provided a foot wash / outdoor shower for each side of the rental (it is essentially a side-by-side mirror-image duplex) as you come off the beach to minimize sand in the pool and in the house. The other side of the property was occupied while we were there and we did not once hear them nor did they hear us--so whatever insulation and / or soundproofing was done between the units is very effective. Also of note is that you are no more than a 10 minute walk from the pier and the properties around this one are similar in that we found nothing but families and a hugely relaxing, low-key atmosphere. We cannot recommend this enough if your focus is on the vacation and not needing marble and granite to do so. The sleeping accommodations allow for a number of different options which with a combination of kids and adults was greatly appreciated. The owner could not have been nicer nor more concerned with our stay which is also a definite selling point. We will be booking again next year. One last word of advice: pay attention to the speed limits (generally 25 mph) in the neighborhoods as the Emerald Isle Police regularly patrol the area.

Wonderful Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time here! The house was clean and comfortable and very inviting. The views of the ocean, the beach and the pool were so calming and simply beautiful! The pool was wonderful, we couldn’t believe how clean the pool water was and the pool lights at night were so pretty. It is obviously a new pool. Walking barefoot on the ‘cool’ concrete pool deck was just perfect (unlike experience we had last year at another house that had composite decks which was just too hot to walk on in bare feet). The bedrooms weren’t huge but they weren’t small either and each bedroom had plenty of closet space with closets that are the full width of the bedrooms. We highly recommend a trip to the town of Beaufort…just 40 minutes up the road and such a charming, historic waterfront town.

Great Place!

  • 5 of 5

If the beach is your thing then this is the place. Pics are exactly what you get. We had a great week and Don delivered as promised. I would rent again and getting both sides of the house fit 16 very easily. Definitely top 10 vacations and memories for the family for a very long time.

AWESOME !!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have rented several condos. Though all very nice,

NOTHING can compare to the stay at "Don's Beach House". You have it ALL - located in a great neighbor hood-very quiet and safe. Parking is great with lots of space for every one. Shopping is very convenient- approx 3 min drive for groceries, fuel, eateries, drugstore & more. Great view, pleasant beach, beautiful home, well supplied from kitchen to baths, and a great owner. Don was available at a drop of a hat. The home itself clean and comfortable. No matter the weather, the pool was well maintained. The pool lights are awesome at night with the stars in the sky and sound of the waves- PARADISE! We had a great time -So great, that we plan to return next year. I've never had the opportunity to rent a condo with a private pool AND a beach so close. The beach was never crowded-as if it were our own OASIS. This will be the #1 place for us to visit and feel that this place is guaranteed to please . We are SO HAPPY we found this place and now consider it to be our permanent destination for our vacations. When you book " DON"S BEACH HOUSE " You will NOT be disappointed. Enjoy your stay. Mike & Janet B

Breathtaking Views and Relaxing Pool

  • 5 of 5

We had seen the photos online but when we got to the house we just couldn't believe the breathtaking views of the Ocean from all the decks and the AMAZING Pool! You have the best of both worlds here...being able to sit on the decks and watch the Ocean and the beautiful pool at the same time. The pool is amazing! It was so clean and is so large. The pool company comes twice a week to clean it. The house is nicely furnished...the beds were very comfortable...I normally get up at the crack of dawn but everything was so comfortable that my wife was surprised to see me sleeping a little later. The Salt Air just relaxes you. My wife adds that the pillows were fresh and the linens clean with lots of closet space...things the women care about. :-) She also mentions the well-stocked kitchen and open floor plan.

Personally, I loved the views, the location and the nice, new, large smart TV's (2). The kids loved the Pool and Beach of course. Clean, white sand and not at all crowded. A true Island getaway! Highly recommend taking one of the boat rides over to one of the Islands. The girls were so excited to come back with lots of whole sand dollars.

Wish we never had to leave!!!! Emerald Isle Oceanfront living is like Paradise!

PAYMENT TERMS for 2017: Traveler pays 50% at time of booking and the remaining 50% balance (and taxes) is due 60 days prior to check-in date. If making the reservation less than 60 days prior to check-in, full payment is due upon booking. For all ‘Spring’ 2017 weeks, we ask that traveler pays 50% at time of booking and balance on or before Nov. 30, 2016. EARLY-BIRD SAVINGS: Bookings made prior to January 1, 2017 will lock into 2016 year’s rates (lower rates). Rates are increased each January 1 for the new Season.
