Fun Fourth of July
Nice private spot right on Hadlock Pond. We really enjoyed our week and spent most of our time sitting on the dock at the water’s edge. Our children had a lot of fun on the diving board on one of the swim floats. The lake water was beautifully clear and warm and when we weren’t on the dock we were floating in tubes on the lake. The location is very convenient to Lake George and the southern Adirondacks. Cathy (the owner) was very helpful and quickly responded to emails and questions about the house before our stay and made the process with VRBO very easy.
We stayed at the house the last week in Aug. Everything was just as described. View is spectacular!! Lake is very peaceful for the most part. It was a little more remote than we anticipated. It's all gravel one lane road once you turn off the main road, so be prepared. Lots of steps to the lake, which was good exercise, but worth it to sit on the dock and soak up the view. The week we were there the weather was on the cool side, so we didn't swim. The lake is crystal clear and very inviting.
The bed in the bigger bedroom was comfortable but creaked every time you moved. I have to say that is the only negative.
We had a wonderful week at Hemlock House. The small quiet lake was perfect to enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming. My son loved the raft with the diving board. The location of Lake Hadlock is perfect. It is away from the large busy Lake a George, but close enough to the Village of Lake George to enjoy activities in the evening. We also took a day trip to Fort Ticonderoga which we all enjoyed. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. Would highly recommend it to others looking for a peaceful spot.
We had a wonderful time at Cathy's cabin - it was just right for two couples and visiting adult children. Incredibly well-stocked with everything - comfortable, just as described, very easy to coordinate with Cathy - will definitely recommend and return ourselves. Setting was beautiful. Thanks for everything.
We had such a good time at the Hemlock House at Hadlock - will go again,!
The 2 bedroom -1-1/2 bath lake house had everything we needed for a wonderful week on the lake with our 3 grandkids. We used both the fully equipped kitchen and gas barbecue to cook all our meals. The lake view from the house was amazing, and the house has a large enclosed porch facing the lake. The house is just steps from a new large dock, where we fished and went swimming every day from. The house comes with 2 rafts to swim to, one of which has a ladder and diving board.
Quiet, peaceful retreat
The Hemlock House proved to be an excellent choice for our vacation getaway. It's conveniently located to many activities the region offers, yet secluded enough to provide a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The house easily accommodated the four adults and two children in our group. It was well stocked, neat and clean. Our gracious host made herself easily accessible for questions or concerns (which there were none). The garage was convenient to store our bicycles in. We enjoyed relaxing on the spacious dock, swimming in the crystal clear water, and kayaking. Staying at the Hemlock House gave us a peaceful, enjoyable environment to stay during our vacation. I recommend this property for anyone staying in the area!
