About TC and Karen Chadwick
We love Sailaway Bay and have enjoyed it for many years. We chose our home because it was located on 5 peaceful acres in a small community with a deeded waterfront area where we built a boat house. We've watched our kids grow up enjoying the lake and now we're sharing it with other families at a very reasonable cost which is considerable less than that of a true waterfront rental.
Why TC and Karen Chadwick chose Bumpass
Our home is a hybrid between a water-access home and a waterfront home. Our home is not on the water, but our boat house is on the water. So it affords guests a tranquil vacation experience with waterfront benefits at the cost of a water-access rental.
What makes this House unique
The five acres make the home extremely private and relaxing. We love getting our morning coffee and sitting on the front porch and watching the birds. In the evening, a camp fire with the stars is awesome. The boat house is great for swimming, kayaking, fishing and sunbathing. There is plenty of fallen wood for camp fires, a great play area with swings and a climbing wall with fort, a hammock, large back deck, 3 kayaks, 1 canoe, and a paddle boat.

Wonderful experience at Lake Anna!
Our stay was trouble free and as relaxing an experience one could hope for. The weather was perfect and the location ideal. Would recommend to anyone looking for value added with forest setting and lake front boat house with all the amenities! Truly would stay here again. The Chadwick’s were excellent property managers and VRBO streamlined the entire process to rent. Thank you again for making my family’s experience one in a lifetime! Greatfully, Michael Mather and Alice Crume
Amazing boat house - comfortable stay!
I fell in love with the home the minute I walked through the door. The kitchen was super organized and everything was so clean. We had a great day at the boat house and swimming in the lake! There are so many things at the house to keep you entertained. Especially for little ones. If you have a family with small children, this place is perfect for you!
Excellent family vacation
The home lived up to all of the amazing reviews! Our children loved playing with all the toys and games. The boat house was fantastic and it was so fun to be able to use the kayaks, canoe and paddle boat. The owners were very responsive and gave excellent info and recommendations prior to our trip. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Our family had a wonderful time! The house was clean, had lots of activities for kids, lots of movies, stocked with basic kitchen & bathroom necessities that we forgot to bring. Great boat house! Great neighborhood & proximity to lake.
Great PLace
Had a wonderful time! Great location for a little R&R and a little fishing.
Quiet and relaxing stay
The property is great and lived up to the pictures and description. It is a very quiet property; the only slight drawback is the time to drive to things like the grocery store or ice cream shop. We were often virtually alone on the cove at the boathouse. Our kids (all are in double digit ages) enjoyed the kayaks, canoe, paddleboat, and fishing from the dock. The game tables in the basement were also a hit. I did not know how warm the water would be until we were there -- it is almost too warm for me (I grew up in New England), but very clear water and easy to swim, float and play in. We had not been to Lake Anna before and I would definitely consider coming back. We had a great time! Thanks.
