3 Bedroom Villa / house just purchased so furniture all good quality & brand new

Hope you have a great time: This home would be suitable for families or those seeking an idyllic location for a relaxing holiday. There are plenty of activities to do during the day and many restaurants for the evenings. We have recently brought the house and we have picked a quiet location. The house would not be suitable for those seeking the night club culture. We hope we have seen enough to give us a call and if you do book a holiday then we know you will have a fantastic time.

Comments Book - Unedited & Hand written at house: May - Hayley Smith:

Excellent facilities and furnishings of a very high standard - Had a really relaxing week, neighbours were very friendly. Ceret recommended for it's quaintness, like going back in time. Will definitely come back.

June - Judith Randell:

Fantastic peaceful place to come, with fantastic mountain views. Loved the house, everything here that you need. Great little town of Amele les Bains close by to visit. Loved visiting Collioure on the coast with some very nice fish restaurants. Look forward to visiting again - Thankyou.

July - Boyd Family:

Children's comments: I have really enjoyed my stay here, even the trips to the supermarket weren't that bad! The pool is fantastic & if it is cold just keep swimming and you will warm up! The DVD's were great and I recommend Blackadder, it's brilliant and hilarious! The area around the house is lovely and Ceret was very pretty. It was great to be able to eat our breakfast outside. Overall our stay was fantastic.

Book - Cont. (Some edited due to space limits): Parent Comments: Have spent the most enjoyable week here, the house has everything you need - Our chlidren particularly enjoyed the pool.

Overall we think the area has alot to offer, we have been to France many times and would have no hesitation in returning here. If you need any help or advise on places to visit ask Serge (Neighbour who looks after house - Not much spoken English) he is very friendly and helpful.

About Andrew or Suzanne Langley

After running a large business for many years we have decided to take a more rustic view, mainly inspired by the house we purchased in France. We currently own and run an upmarket boarding kennels. If you live in the UK near the M6 on the staffs Cheshire boarder then we would be happy to show you our facilities if you have a pet you wish to board while you stay.

Andrew or Suzanne Langley purchased this villa in 2006

Why Andrew or Suzanne Langley chose Vallespir

Property was chosen for the views, quiet yet near people if there is a problem. Near to town of Ceret but not too close for noise. Own pool. Large but easy to maintain garden. Tiled throughout so stays cool in summer. Near enough to some shops and restaurants to walk if required. Not too far to beach but not too close to have traffic problems in height of summer. Local town old and unspoiled. Relaxation personified. Bliss. Terraces front and back. Out of wind of the coastal properties.

What makes this villa unique

A magical combination of modern facilities, views to die for yet not tucked away from civilisation. Can breakfast in warm sunshine looking at mountains you could Ski in morning. Then bask in sunshine on beach in afternoon. If we took a pin and put it in the spot we ideally wanted then it would hit the house.

Excellent location in private, comfortable villa.

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely time at the villa - it was perfect. We hated to leave the area as there is so much we didn't get a chance to see during our week. We rented a car and could easily have used another 3 or 4 days to explore.

We can recommend the orgues at Ille-sur-tet. The hoodoos were incredible. Castelnou is beautiful. We took the owner's advice and went to Collioure. We really enjoyed the town and the beach was beautiful. We also went to the Camargue area. Aigues-Mortes, St-Marie sur le Mer (a beautiful sand beach) and to the bird sanctuary/park near there to see the flamingos. Hundreds of them were there.

The villa had pretty much everything we needed and was both comfortable and private. Instructions and directions provided by owner are excellent. We enjoyed the pool and having on-site laundry was very convenient. No issues with the key pick up or drop off. Some windows had screens; we would have liked screens on more of the windows, but it wasn't a huge issue. We had a hard time buying ice early in the evening on the day of our arrival, so we bought some trays and left them for the next guest.

A great location to use as a base to explore the area and relax!

A great holiday!

  • 5 of 5

A great location in the foothills of the Pyrenees, the house was lovely, very well equipped in every way, including the pool, and with wonderful views across to the mountains. Ceret was a typical small French town, with good restaurants, cafes, shops and squares in which to enjoy a drink. Lots of places to visit and explore by car or on foot. A great place to stay!

Just relax

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this property. We wanted a relaxing holiday and got just that. This immaculately presented, modern villa benefits from stunning views of the mountains and is only 30 mins maximum from the sea and many lovely, traditional villages. It is a clean, well equipped property and Andrew, the owner, was extremely helpful and easy to work with. Ceret is a really nice village if you enjoy a slow pace, good food and people watching. There are many other activities within reach but we just wanted to dip in the pool and enjoy the excellent food and wine available locally. I would recommend this place unreservedly and expect to return soon.

A Gem

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough about this villa, my wife & I spent the whole of Sept relaxing enjoying the villa & surrounding area. It was not for the first time we had spent our holiday in Ceret & thanks to a great holiday home this was the best. After one week we felt as if we had been living here for years & it was very sad to leave.

Thanks both you have a fantastic holiday home we are most jealous of you. Sorry I can't increase the star rating to ten as this it what it deserves.

Lovely house in an excellent location

  • 5 of 5

As a family of four, two adults and two children this house was more than adequate for us. We had a superb stay here. The description is totally accurate and it was clean and very well maintained. Everything was perfect for us and the children loved the pool. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is also satellite television if you want to catch up with English TV.

The house is in a lovely quiet residential area. Within a few minutes walk you have a few restaurants and a bakers. Ceret is a five minute car journey and is a lovely place with plenty of restaurants, cafe bars and shops. We found a couple of good restaurants in the square, one a pizza restaurant and the other was a little more expensive but well worth it - food was gorgeous. There is also a fantastic market on Saturday mornings with lots of lovely local produce and gifts etc.

About 40 minutes drive and you are at the coast. We did this several times and it is straight there on the motorway, no bother at all. There is also a fabulous place called Collioure where there is a fort and again lovely cafes and restaurants - something for all the family and very picturesque.

We also managed to swim in the local river, this is about 10 minutes away.

The owners were very helpful with always an immediate response to any queries we had. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this house to anyone.

Best in Show

  • 5 of 5

The house is even better than it appears in the pictures and description. The views, from every window, will take your breath away. The house is immaculately clean, wonderfully cool and modern. The short distance to Ceret is both convenient and just far enough from town to ensure a blissful quiet at the house - day or night. The pool appears brand new and is refreshing even in the hottest part of the day. The beds and linens, furniture and kitchen appliances are very, very nice and give a homey yet pampered effect. The outside areas are ingeniously situated to take advantage of sun or shade depending on time of day and desire. The shutters on the windows and the giant ceiling fans keep the house cooler and more comfortable than electric air conditioning. It is just a brilliantly designed house.

Ceret itself is a beautiful town. The bridges, the avenues of gigantic sycamore trees, the river, the walled centre ville, the main square, the tiny roads of stone houses, are all incredible. The residents and business owners are friendly and warm. Just about everything one might need for a holiday is available right in Ceret, whether it's a large grocery (Intermarche), a quick stop grocery (Spar), patisseries, boulangeries, charcuteries, internet access, laundry, gas/petrol, doctors, dentists, banking, postal service, museums, bookstores, etc. It would be no trouble at all to stay months at a time and lack for nothing.

A short drive North on the A9 or the D900 lead easily to Perpignan, a great and gorgeous city, with all the cosmopolitan urbanity one might miss (or not) by staying in an idyllic commune like Ceret. We liked making time for a combination of both.

Making arrangements with the owners was easy, friendly, and everything was as promised (and often better). The neighbors/caretakers are a lovely couple, helpful and kind, and we rather wished they were our own neighbors all year. Our family had a magical week, and we hope to return soon.

The location and area are truly 'manifique'. The sun shines nearly every day and the mountains shelter the home from any winds. Ceret is perfect, it has many restaurants & a thriving market. Ceret is a picture postcard town & has been famous from the turn of the century when it was an inspiring location for modern artists such as Picasso and Mattisse. There are a many festivals during the year and the world famous modern art museum. The region caters for virtually every activity form Golf to Karting & white water rafting. Shops & restaurants within walking distance. A walk along the stunning river is a must and it is literally at the end of the road. Ceret centre is 2 mins away. Beaches - Collioure, Argeles Sur Mer, St Cyprien (All aprox 30 mins). Airports: Perpignan (30mins), Girona (45 mins), Barcelona (90 mins) Skiing (90 mins). The Villa / house is a self build home and it is an extremely well kept quiet area. There is no noise at night and the locals are all extremely friendly.

Other Activities: Art Museums, Caves, Wine tasting, Rafting, Canoeing.
