About the property

1700 sq ft - 3 bedrooms, 3 baths with panoramic view of the Columbia River

Located on upper level of the historic Pier 14 Pilot Station (still operated by the Columbia River Pilots) the Pilot House is an elegantly appointed luxury suite in the heart of Astoria's historic waterfront. Surrounded by water, nearly every room offers a panoramic view of the Columbia River.

The 1700 square foot unit has 3 bedrooms, 3 baths with 4 gas fireplaces. The spacious living room has leather furniture with a queen-size sofa bed. There is a fully equipped gourmet kitchen with a dining room that can seat 10 people. The master bedroom suite has a king size bed, full bathroom with Jacuzzi bathtub and shower with a private deck off to the river.

The Pilot House has the warmth and feel of a home with high-end features of a four-star hotel. The building was restored in 2005 and is listed on the National Historic Register of Historic places. Inside you will find museum quality maritime artifacts throughout.

Astoria is the perfect getaway for any interest... history, outdoor adventure, or maritime activity. The Pilot House is within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and many local attractions. Both the 5-mile river walk and trolley line run right outside the door.

This is a wonderful place to spend time with family. Astoria is lovely and the Pilot House is right in the heart of the city. Great views and all of the amenities included!

Wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay for my husband and myself, our daughter, son-in-law and their two toddlers. Once again, everyone had a great time. The Pilot House is very comfortable, spacious and well appointed with plenty of seating areas and windows to enjoy the view of the Columbia and the activities of the boats and wildlife. The location can't be beat for walking proximity to the Maritime Museum, downtown restaurants and shops. The pilots and crew were very friendly and happily reciprocated our grandchildren's waves with waves and the occasional toot from the boat. Just before leaving for home, they gave a tour of the pilot boat, a highlight for our three year old grandson. I'm sure we'll be back!

Another Memorable Family Retreat

  • 5 of 5

This is the best location in Astoria for those who find comfort in the river and want the excitement of one of the best small town's in America. We return every year to The Pilot House for a family retreat - loving the location and the ease of this place. It's very cozy allowing for 8 comfortably. One of the best things is having a family dinner with the lights of the ships on the river; and the children (and adults) never tire of seeing the Pilot boats go and come from their duties. Of course, watching for seals is another treat.

Great place to stay, even for locals!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay at the Pilot House. It was perfect for my wife's surprise 40th birthday party. Teresa was great to work with for all the reservation coordination. Had a little hiccup in the checkout process, but they took care of the issue and I believe they are making changes to prevent problems for future guests. Overall great experience.

What a fantastic place in a really great location!

  • 5 of 5

I just returned home from a girls shopping weekend at the Pilot House and it was amazing! Plenty of room, lots of bathrooms (3 and all with showers), comfortable beds, an amazing view, etc. I can't say enough about it. Walking distance to everything. Although we enjoyed the house so much we spent the bulk of our time around the dining room table watching the ships roll in and out and hoping for a lightning storm. We had such a wonderful time that we're hoping to make this an annual trip and add a third night as we all hated to leave this morning! I'd highly recommend this place.
