Tom Smith purchased this cabin in 2013
Located in a walkable, safe and friendly small town on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Walk to restaurants, in town lake, landscaped river walk, antique shops.
I used unique and interesting materials and techniques to convert a 1949 single wide garage into a modern rustic living space....Think nice motel room....
Loved the little cottage it was perfect for me and my dogs. The courtyard was peaceful and beautiful. Will stay again when I come back to town.
Tom was out of town and his friend Frank welcomed us to the property. We travel with our dog and have stayed in several owner owned properties, we were impressed to be welcomed in person rather than everything handled remotely. It made our stay somehow more comfortable. The "cabin" is exactly as described, it was rustic, clean and eclectic. The garden was a delightful surprise. We stayed 8 days and spent a couple every hours in the garden every morning lingering over breakfast. We hope to have an opportunity for a return stay.
Tom is such a great and wonderful host. Due to some set backs on our part we were unable to meet up with Tom. He was great enough to provide us with more than what we needed. His place is simple but very unique.
My husband and I stayed at Tom's cabin for 6 days. It was a perfect location for us as it was within 10 minutes of our son's home. The cabin was comfortable and exactly what I expected from the pictures on the internet. We had everything we needed in the cabin. We enjoyed Sim's Park as it was recently updated and within walking distance of the cabin. The park had a walking path and outdoor gym equipment. Also, the patio area was very nice and private and immediately outside our door. We sat outside most mornings before beginning our day and had coffee and relaxed. We enjoyed breakfast at Christina's Restaurant which was just across the street. The food was good and very affordable. We felt very safe in the cabin and enjoyed the accommodations. The cabin was clean and included the items we needed such as towels and bedding and a few extras too. The cabin was a very nice alternative to the area hotels and I would stay again when in the area.
Nice little place with a very private garden area. Has all the amenities you need to cook with a great convection over!!
