About Chuck and Debbie Davis
As our 3 children have grown, we have enjoyed many wonderful adventures in the mountains, skiing or hiking. We fell in love with Powder Horn mountain in 2008 and when the opportunity arose we were delighted to be able to buy The Tree Haus. We look forward to making more memories and are happy to be able to share it with others. We hope you will enjoy all the fun and tranquility here as much as we always have.
Chuck and Debbie Davis purchased this Chalet in 2016
Why Chuck and Debbie Davis chose Deep Gap
Close enough to Boone (10 miles), a college town, with lots of great sports, concerts, plays, shopping, restaurants, and more, yet you definitely are in a mountain community on Powder Horn!
What makes this Chalet unique
Spend the day hiking amazing trails, playing in the streams and waterfalls, swimming in the community pool, enjoying paddle boats on the lake, fishing, or taking a quiet walk in the woods. In the winter, you can sled down the driveway or take a short drive and ski at one of the area's slopes or go into Boone or Blowing Rock for shopping and antiquing. At night, return to the comfort of the Tree Haus. We know you will be happy with the unique charm and space of our chalet at our rates!

Super sweet cabin
Our family loves the tree Haus! We have been going there for years! Always clean and comfortable!
Deep Gap Mountain chalet
The owners were very good to deal with. They allowed us an extra hour to depart which was good because 10 is a little early. Décor is dated but plenty of room for large family. It is about 40 minutes from Boone. Great neighborhood
We carried our family for a mini vacay. The house was very clean and there was so much to do. We went swimming in the pool, took a hike down to the camp ground, watched the deers and turkeys, went fishing and waded in the little creek all this right by The Tree Haus. The road getting there was really curvy but lots to do once you are there. Thank you Debbie for being so accommodating and for answering all of my questions so promptly. I would highly recommend this property. We have made a lot of memories that we will surely treasure for a life time. Thank you again The Griffin Family
Great weekend at The Tree Haus!
The Tree Haus was a great fine and we all enjoyed out long weekend. Walked the trails behind the house several times, saw wild turkeys twice and lots of deer. I even believe we saw Ricky!! Carried apples just in case. We all went swimming and shopping in Blowing Rock. It was nice to have a gas grill because we cooked in two nights. There was a couple cleaning issues but nothing that would keep me from going back.
Our weekend at the cabin was very comfortable and enjoyable. We loved the layout of the house! The grands slept in the basement with more than adequate space to play with the puzzles, toys, supplied by the owner. Their parents slept on the main floor and we, the Grandparents enjoyed the privacy of the top floor. The kitchen was well stocked and large with a great counter with bar stools. The air cooled the house well and was nice to come back to after a very warm day at Tweetsie! We also enjoyed the pool in the resort- very nice size and clean! Overall, we had a great experience and would return if given the opportunity!

wonderful day trips .... The Tree Haus in the North Carolina High Country has it all!
Here is a Quote from MSN City Guides article: 'America's 10 Best Outdoor Towns' regarding Boone: 'The tallest mountain in the East lies not in Vermont, New Hampshire or Maine but near Boone, North Carolina. It's 6,684-foot Mount Mitchell, a centerpiece of the Pisgah National Forest and Blue Ridge Mountains, whose valleys hide hip
little hiking towns like this one. Appalachian State University attracts outdoorsy students to Boone, where you're as likely to find a latte (Espresso News) as a low-key country restaurant with fried chicken (Daniel Boone Inn). Paddlers hit the Nolichucky and French
Broad Rivers for class III and IV rapids (Mountain Adventure Guides, Erwin, Tenn.) while mountain bikers wheel along the 18-Mile Ride (Magic Cycles). There's even skiing here at Sugar Mountain Ski Resort
and a handful of other small resorts. For a classic adventure, tackle the 40-mile stretch of the Appalachian Trail that runs through here; even in the summer, temperatures remain refreshingly cool.'
