Why Lorann Berg chose Black Hills

We have lived in the Black Hills since 1972 in various towns including Lead and Spearfish. We like to spend time exploring the hills, so when our friend moved down south, we took the opportunity to buy his house. This is a perfect location to bike the Mickelson Trail or stay for the many events in Deadwood. We hope our guests enjoy it as much as we do.

Great Location and so cute

This house is awesome! Lorann keeps it beautiful and it is very up to date. We would highly recommend it. It's a very short walk to down town and Taco Johns is across the street!

Nice Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

Location good. Short walk to Mainstreet. Off street parking great. The bed was great and we are seniors lol. Lorann was very thoughtful with water, OJ and fritters in the frig to start. Very much appreciated. Hope to get back.

100% better than a hotel stay - it was home away from home. Best place ever!

  • 5 of 5

We really, really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back for more fun in the years to come. Very clean and comfy and cozy and so welcoming to weary travelers. This house is a perfect landing spot if you plan to see all of the touristy places like Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer, Needles Highway, Spearfish and Devil's Tower just to name a few. If you're interested in going to a few breweries there are several on the path to the places mentioned above. We really enjoyed walking to downtown Deadwood each night for dinner, shopping and entertainment. Lorann even had English muffins, orange juice and grapes in the fridge for us, which was so appreciated as we arrived at nighttime and didn't have anything for breakfast. We really appreciated the kind gesture and thoughtfulness! All dishes and cooking utensils are provided so we had everything one needs for cooking and snacking, just like you have at home. We were thrilled to see the house was so clean and neat too...top notch for our high standards of clean! So if having a clean and safe place to stay is important to you with all the comforts of your own home, Dogwood is the place for you!!! Thanks for everything, Lorann! We loved it!

Absolutely loved our stay. Over the top clean and the pictures don't do it justice.

Excellent location, clean and comfortable. Had all the amenities. Felt very much like home and not like a guest is someone else's house.

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

House was immaculately clean and had a great location. It was within walking distance to downtown Deadwood. Also the pictures are deceiving. The house is much more spacious than it appears in the photos.

Great little cottage in Deadwood

  • 5 of 5

My family and I enjoyed our weeks stay at the cottage. The pictures certainly don't do it justice. The cottage seemed little but it had everything our family needed to feel comfortable and at home. The cottage is very clean and updated inside and out and you certainly know it's loved by the owner. We appreciated Lorann's generosity in leaving our family orange juice, bagels and cream cheese for the next mornings breakfast. We were grateful as we had driven a long way from Wisconsin and the last thing we wanted to do was run to the store so that was very thoughtful of her. The cottage is situated in the heart of Deadwood and within walking distance of downtown. My husband and I walked every morning to the local coffee shop called Pump House. Highly recommend their coffee! We would definitely stay here again! The Black Hills are beautiful!

Thank you,

Lisa and Mark
